Garrett needs this detector to be beyond anything we see on the market at this time and yet hold that position for extended period to recoup their investment.
My reasoning behind this is if the price point of it is higher than the average person can’t afford it then it will be dead before it gets out of the gate.
Great detector great price =‘s volume sales and recoup investment over time.

They’ve said it’s a new line of detectors. So potentially different levels of features/controls and maybe waterproof and non-waterproof variants???

Iffy has a video out on it. I figured since they were closing out the eq600 for 499$, it would have to come in at least a little below that.
The £459 is UKpounds. That’s about $580 in US dollars. Guess we’ll see when a US dealer lists them

(EDITED) The guy from Iffysignals youtube channel said these coils won’t work on the Equinox. Maybe the Equinox coils are wound differently for the higher frequencies used by the gold modes and the Xterra coils aren’t wound for them?????
They said the Elite can use Equinox coils. I wonder if the Elite coils will work with the equinox?? I love a 5x8!

I keep thinking about giving the ORX a try. I’ve swung a friend’s Deus and love the light weight but have no desire to get into the massive menu of options the Deus offers. The simplicity of the ORX is really appealing
For general detecting (not gold prospecting) what coil would you recommend? The HF or X35? -

The current lineup is dated, and Apex underwhelmed people expecting an Ace to outperform top tier product. But fact is Garrett is hard at work, and Axiom was just a start, not a finish.
I would imagine their next step will be a SMF update to the AT series??? They eased in to the SMF market with a lower tier machine and if they can refine their SMF tech, cross it with the form factor of the Axiom and make it as reliably waterproof as the AT housings were they would hit another homerun.

The MoltiKruzer is one machine I kinda wish I held onto. It had great separation in 3tone, would punch deep in 4tone or vco and it was built like a tank and could double as a baseball bat and not need repaired after a homerun???

When I think of the education I got from working to understand what a detector without target ID was telling me, all I can say is that it is kind of a shame that most people will not get that education. Kind of like not learning to drive a manual transmission or write and read cursive.
I still prefer a Tesoro when sifting through foil littered parks, sports fields and totlots for jewelry. Nothing like that analog audio!!

That's a great idea! Glad to see someone try that!
I’ll try and post some pics of it. It’s been going strong for about 6 years
I think I read that there was a revision of the first Golden umax, due to the two middle tones of the four, sounding too much alike!
I think the second revision of the Golden has a second “high” tone for the nickel range On both versions you can manipulate the tone breaks with the notch adjustment

Still love the Compadre and Mojave. Super simple machines that work great for itty bitty gold jewelry in playground areas and sniffing out coins and relics in heavy iron. I also have a Compadre that I mounted in a waterproof case that is my freshwater swimming hole gold getter!! I’d love to try a Golden uMax if I ever find one to buy.

My personal favorite among the CZ’s was the CZ3D, one of the best coin hunting machines ever made! Rock solid machine, VERY DEEP, tough and dependable analog machine! The target ID was very accurate, easy to GB and great for working around areas others couldn’t due to EMI. Just be care not to work to close to another CZ!
The only negative I have to say about the CZ3D, and this maybe true for all of them, it LOVED deep rusty nails.I had to stop using it in my park when all that remained was targets over 10”. Once I’d get a target that deep w the CZ, despite all my efforts, circling 360 degrees, whipping the coil ect. , there was no telling the difference between a deep rusty nail (especially a bent one!) and no fe target!
HH! Aaron
I feel the high point of the CZ3D was that nickel range gave a high tone. Opened up the ability to cherry pick and still have a bit of the gold ring range in play also.

Since the Vanquish line seems to be aimed at the big box/ sporting goods retail market I would imagine it will be around for a good while. If you look at the shelves where they are sold there is usually a model or two that are sold out. If you consider that 20+ year old Bounty Hunter models still sell by the pallet load at Costco then I’m sure the Vanquish is doing just fine sales wise with the beginner/recreational market.
I have a 340that lives in my van for scouting new spots I stumble across and it always seems to do the job and find some goodies. It lacks all the bells and whistles of “professional” models but still packs quite a punch- 2

Probably a good idea!
Thanks Steve -
Where did you see them for sale?
I had an older one that got smashed unfortunately. Loved it with the Mojave for getting close tothe metal posts in playgrounds and super trashy shallow spots.- 1

RIP Dave. Had some good exchanges with him on the Friendly forum when I was first starting out.

There’s gold jewelry hiding in all those bits of foil and slaw in our parks. I would wager that the majority of lost gold jewelry is broken chains, charms and earrings that will ID as foil compared to bigger rings in the nickel to tab range. Just have to spend the time digging all the crappy foil and slaw signals til ya find some. I’m not saying it’s guaranteed to be worth your time but ya never know what might pop up!!

That’s pretty cool. You never know what those low tones might be!! ?

I am so glad someone bought your F19. Just having it for sale on this site was giving me nightmares caused by chronic F19 separation syndrome. I can take a nice deep breath now, knowing I don't have to struggle with whether I was going to send you a PM or not?
The checks in the mail my friend so hopefully you can get some sleep tonight and dream of gold and silver!!

I just enjoy trying out different machines every now and then. After the F19 is gone I’ll be down to a few Tesoros, a NOX and a Vanquish340 I found onsale a few weeks ago for $169, pretty amazing machine for that price point!! Only machine I possibly regret selling was my Explorer II. I miss the power not the weight, LOL! That machine found some deeeep coins. The NOX comes close but hopefully those FBS machines will be the next model for Minelab to replace.

I’m definitely interested in comparing one of these on my F19 against the cleansweep on my Mojave. Having the ID may be useful but I usually use the cleansweep as a jewelry/clad hoover and dig everything.
Any idea on a time frame??

How close were the machines while checking the targets? Were they noise canceled near each other? Different noise cancel selections? So many random RF variables come in to play when these machines are within 10 feet of each other it’s hard to pin it down really.

I don’t know if it’s the “best” coil but I love the stock 5x10DD that came with my F19. I use it predominantly for jewelry (a.k.a. foil) hunting at some local schools and sports fields.

Garrett Storm With MD-MF?
in Garrett Metal Detectors
Posted
Definitely! A relic PI would be almost as niche a product as a beach PI. Also considering they said a new “line” of detectors and the MD-MF moniker is akin to the existing MF(multi-flex) branding, it’s seems safe to assume the new line will be aimed at replacing the aging AT series and maybe ACE as well.
Also……loved your photoshop prediction Steve!! Fingers crossed they keep the S-shaft 🤞🤞
