Hi Kingman, out of all those detectors, what is the best for you? What one do you like the most? I have 7 and still don't know what i like. Most of the time i reach for the MXT, i have most of the coils for it and know it the most. Dean
Right now I prefer the XP Deus 2. I have a Manticore and a legend, but the XP is my favorite at the moment. Thanks, George

I've never owned an X5 but have used one on several occasions. I really liked it. I wonder if there is any back inventory of the Shadows in a storage unit somewhere...
Do you know if he ever had a prototype made of his visible target ID detector? Or am I just nuts and that never existed?
Not that I know off.

Must admit i totally agree with you, both of my Nexus machines can do basically the same because they run in the 5-6khz range as well and with the option of much bigger coils into the bargain.....my slightly older Nexus Standard SE with the dual 9'' coil gives amazing depth on bigger targets as does my MP and as you have mentioned the lower Khz is also great for silver hammered and copper coinage.
It will be very interesting to see how this 'Abyss' works as a Artefact/Hoard Hunter.
I have the Golden Mask 3+ and it can't compete with the Abyss as I continue to test.

Just amazing this collection of yours. I see you have a very clean Shadow in the mix. Do you ever use it? I seem to recall way back that Troy was trying to make a new Shadow with visible target ID. I guess it never happened.
Keep these pictures coming, George. They are really fun to view.
Bill
I have the X5 and X3. I use to field test for Troy. On a field test in Farmvile I dug two CSA Buttons, I cast and one SBuckley Birmingham Back Mark. I also Found a Coat AVC and a Script I. I sent Troy the CSA S. Buckley as a gift. Troy is a great fellow to have worked with. I still reach for the X5 even now.

Certainly you have some in the attic and basement as well! Awesome collection there/.
No basement, attic is a walk in without heat. I will check in the Master Bedroom shower since I don't ever bathe.😂

Impressive...the most I've ever owned at one time was five. Started to get the evil eye from the wife. Now I'm down to a manageable three😆
Well years ago, it was either Whites or Garrett. The companies would get you to bite by just renaming their offerings with series numbers so I would trade the old one in on the newer model. I then got hooked on Tesoro, which my wife used. True story. We were detecting at the University of Maryland. I gave her the Sabre and told her to go up around the big tree and check. I had just found a class ring and when she came back, she had found a huge men's 14k Tigers Eye ring with some rope around it and her own class ring.

I own several DeepTech's, and the Gold Gain is a favorite. Nice finds.

Get the machine in yet?
Yes. Will get it out to the field when conditions improve. In semi-automatic with disc. adjustments, you can find small targets at very nice depth. Slow sweep is the key to get the perfect high pitch you will want to dig. The coil is slightly heavy, but the balance is ok for me. Extreme depth on my Civil War Brass buckles. More settings to explore.

Love this, George. What is that one detector called the Pirate?
Also love the old Garretts with the square arm cuff. Looked cool but what a dumb design (at least for me).
Let's see the closet dwellers, floor standers and under bed hiders next!
Pirate is Bulgarian. Gave it to my Hunting Buddy Adam. Very good detector for iron infested sites.

George, we could go to a duel,,, but one thing still interests me...👍.
Your Opinion on your various detectors... What model of detector and in what detection situations would you take it... ?
Only a few people have such experience as you... in such questions...Just an old guy remembering days gone by.

Nice coin, now a question. Out of the hundreds of detectors you have owned thru the years, how high up on your list is the D2?
Top of the food chain.

Great save on the coin as you don't see many of them anymore.
Good luck on your next hunt.
Thank you.

A couple more of my test coins. If you can find these, you're doing it right.
