  1. For years I didn't think about frequency and I still don't spend a lot of time thinking about it now. I know over time the powers that be have found one frequency over another will detect small gold. Oh I'm all for their endeavor. The thing is I've been a coin hunter lots longer than a nugget hunter. That single frequency has found me untold rings and coin back to the early 18 hundreds.

Now here soon White's MX Sport Waterproof single frequency detector will hit the market. My thinking is why not it's been good to me all the years I've been swinging a single frequency detector. I know now we have detectors that can run in more than one frequency but do I really need it.

I'd like to hear your thinking on this subject.

  2. We have been hearing about every detector other than Nokta Impact. I've been sitting here waiting and waiting to hear from them.

  3. Hi vanursepaul

With detectors past we dug it all. Here with your new Makro Gold detector it is best to dug all when nugget hunting. That's if you don't want to walk off thinking about that last signal. Just maybe I should have dug it .

Even with the ID machines we have today. I still sometimes wish I'd dug that last signal. Lots of times I'm thinking this laying in bed at night.

I wish all the luck with your new Makro Gold Racer. Thank you for the video and your time making it.

Some time back I drove 18 hundred miles to meet with Digger Bob to nugget hunt in Nevada. The second day there I was told a bad storm was on the way and we needed to get out. So I drove back home to Texas. Maybe if gold wasn't the color it is just maybe we wouldn't go mad hunting for it.

The Best on your next trip.

  5. I love to dream and I've done a lot finding gold in another country but that's as far as it got.

     Here is my view.

Say I go to Alaska and a American Bear eats me. Now I pass through it's system. Got that ?

The thing is I'll still be in the Good Old USA..

  6. Hi Woody

It looks good but if you can't get out alive it don't look as good anymore. When you step across that line from the USA into another country you lose control. One may be to have a gun to protect yourself. Another is you work finding the gold with others watching and waiting to take it away from you. You could wake up dead. You really don't wake up.

I've looked at other gold  and I think about it but I just like me too much. What won't kill will eat you are both.Ha

You go ahead and go Woody but post here when can.

  7. Hey Deathray

Nothing like finding those seated coins. Glad to see they still out there to be found.

Back  about 1972 I found 5 seated dimes under one bush. This place was a old fair grounds and the last one there was in 1945 I was told. Now this was found with a White's 66 TR. Then just about everything was coming up silver.

The best to you on finding more.

  8. Say you the Mfg. of the product can ask what you wish. The thing is you have to now convince me I can't live without your shaft you have .

If I want what you have my trouble is I don't look at the price. In this case it don't do anything for me and that's what makes it easy for me to say no.

That is the way life is. Some things we can live without and others I can't live unless I can get it.

    Chuck

PS I can't say I'd be happy even if you hung me with a new rope. I didn't like the twist.

    I love this forum.

I use the same pointer as you and I love it.

    Gambler

I didn't have my pointer with me the last time I was out nugget hunting. I plan on giving it a try that if and when I get to the gold fields again

  10. When I was a kid I was told it's not polite to point. The kid got lots of years behind him detecting now.

One dealer sent me a pinpointer some years back but I didn't like the looks of it. To me it look like a box of M & M peanuts that you get at the show with a big pencil sticking out one end.

The newer shape came out you can wrap your hand around it and this I like. So when I ordered a detector from Digger Bob I said I'd try another pointer. So now I find myself as soon I open the ground I reach for my pointer. Oh my thinking is why didn't I use the first one I had.

If anyone is out there detecting without one do yourself a favor and buy one. I think back for all the years I could have cut down on time looking for the target I'd located.

I know they are not cheap but what is anymore.

Do you remember when you could buy what was called a half battery. It looked like half the size of the standard one and I'd say this looks like a half size as the other. The battery then and now are different in looks and what's inside of the housing. You still have the power cable connection to deal with.

If you thinking about buying Makro Gold Racer from Turkey or the Nokta fors Gold Plus go for it. I have the Nokta Fors Gold Plus but was defective out of the box. I said something on here about my trouble and they came to my aide. The first part didn't fix it but they paid shipping both ways. then sent the other the control box and that was the fix. Again they paid shipping both ways. Like said they paid it all and I wasn't out one cent..

Makro and Nokta is one in the same company that came about when the two brothers came  together.

I don't care what detector you buy. Your detector won't be any better until you learn all about what it can do. Then get out there and do it over and over again.

Lots of people may not believe this but when you get to the point of what I said above. Then and only then you will be one with your detector. Always think positive thinking the next swing is going to be a nugget. In my case that was what I was doing coin hunting today.

Now don't go and tell this to anyone when nugget hunting. If you come on dirt that has fallen out of a bulldozer tracks in the field check that dirt with your detector. I found two two gram nuggets doing that.

  13. You have so many new detectors that are coming soon if not already out. Heck I'd loan you my GMZ if was near. I just got it as a backup detector but now have one to replace it. The GMZ of White's is the low end of the GMT. The MX Sport will be out soon and all that I've heard it has a lot going for it. I hope to buy one more so for the coin hunting side of it and being waterproof.

Right now Digger Bob is testing it right now.and he knows what he's doing.

If you can get some old shot gun shells and get the shot out. The old ones is got lead in it. If you can get your hands on any lead and then cut to different weights. This will take the place of the gold you don't have.

Best of luck on the new detector when we can get one. Another thing if White's offer smaller coils for the MX you may need one. The trouble is you have to spend the money first to play the game.
