Congrats on your new machine!   If the sites you’re hunting have a lot of targets you may want to give program 2, sensitive or program 3, sensitive ft a try.  The full tones option really makes the higher conductors stand out for me.  Good luck!

My favorite programs so far is sensitive full tones although a nice modified 5 tone seems to rival ft,time will tell for my preference.

5 tone seems like it may give alerts a bit clearer on initial sweep over but I really like the squeaky goodness of ft! Deephc is growing on my if i can do my part and not chase finds on maybe street!

        That's a good haul barry!

Goodluck hope you get on the silva, not the Brazilian examples!

The token/coin is cool and actually from the mid-50's most likely and fetches a few bucks from collectors.  Here's the story behind it:

1950's Pontiac "Chief of The Sixes" Coin (motorcitymusclecars.com)

    Dude,thanks chase!

I for whatever reason(probly excitement to be part of the gang) lol and thought it said "sixties" did not look it up!

That's 100% better than alabama tax tokens then which even if it wasn't monetarily this big chief of the woody Harrelson token is way cooler!

Thanks for letting me in on what you obviously put effort in, I thought it was pretty cool for a token( I thought at first it was one of those presidential tokens, I think I dug a Garfield late 1800's?) Was surprised when it was something new/unique/Americana.

  3.     2 hunts today first in sleet, rain and snow in the greatest county of lee(for keeping victims poor)! Wet to my knees but no bother to me,just hard slimy with mud gloves! 1790's property covered in tiny mid 1900's nails like roofing but smaller heads, square nails, random iron of all sorts(not much modern trash) I've poured 100+ hours to close vicinity(yard, small yard) to house just on hope to no avail besides 2 early 1900's wheats,Mason lids, random non ferrous objects most holes no stretch have multiple nails. Best find in field 1820's flat button I posted here 3,4 years ago and even what little I've been in the fields is slower rate of fire mo'chine gun beeping! I need to give the yard up but it's hard I know theirs something there if I could zig,zag proper!:) used sensitive ft modified chased 1 way nice signals to mostly nails, deep HC I used for 1,2 hours bottle caps 4,silencer high to many many more falses (complimented by my chasing when i know better) and seems to up average the numbers a bit but i may have been overwhelmed by hope spiraling and overloading of de beep! I'm really loving the nuance to all audio options not pitch in pwn, didnt realize 5 tones could or would be so deliciously squeaky! Does anyone have any knowledge to spare on rivet, pottery and I know its roouugghhh bullet? Thanks in advance! Goodluck.

Fast forward a drive to chatranooga and 2 hours work, I hit some grass around utc, construction area and lost 4 1/2 hours trying to learn things! This is where it all turned around for a few glorious minutes when behold a token on a zinc signal! I like it alot and never seen one, what say you!?

Much more modern trash and chasing at first, then passing up all under 90 signals for the last bit only the token for 2nd hand cool/finds o' value but a win for me! I pre deus 2 had gotten away from detecting when I really love it but having places to go or lack of on the road and when home I have family so times limited! I'm just going (gotta get my mind right and just go) and if its city, county, hood owned I'm just going and I'm gonna feel good about it to! Lol im not going to step on anyone or be a menace I'm just going to beep! I'm really liking the machine, tonal symphony, ergos, the smorgus board of stuff to change buttons to push on my handy dandy RC! Gotta quit chasing/hoping and just let it happen! Pics with wire were a few of the junker clunkers still in my bag from chatt greenery with token! All others pics from lee county rural communities! He bout the painted penny its purdy! I've had some depth equal to the deepest I dig broadly speaking as well from nox800,atpro(deepest things as a whole 1 day in miss 10" .69 caliber were the only finds about with atpro big nel). Sure some pop cans, big stuff maybe a bit deeper digs but most of my dogs 3" to 7" broadly I think. Just random thoughts of the deus and journey! Goodluck to everyone on yours and I hope happy digging finds you all! If anyone can give some info on anything it would be appreciated and locked away in my mushy head! Thanks oh almost forgot 2 locations in Chattanooga 2,3 blocks apart 1 had pretty annoying/serious emi 1 had nothing of note! Sit mochine down to paw&claw damn thing was bing, bong, bammin to really frustrating levels gain 85! Dealt with it for can slaw prizes though!:) onenote thing imo sensitive with descrim up to 6.8 or 7 full tones, pwn, reactivity 2-3,iron volume 1,audio hrz 450ish,gain 95,no notch, audio response 4 or 5 I go back and forth, silencer 2 but I'll bounce it off the floor at the carpet bombed places, bottlecaps in modern trash 3,4,/equalizer bumped 1 decibel per row gaining 1 on previous, headphones volume 6 I think that covers my favorite/what jives with me atm however i ran some 5 tone today and liked it alot actually.

    Hey Mark,

Thanks for the nice post, and to be the one of the few other than me to mention the big iron falsing. The Equinox does it too, but like the Equinox it just takes a while to learn the audio and the characteristics of coming upon a falsing iron target, I equate it to playing a particular sequence in a video game until you're good at it. 😀 I'm not a big gamer but possibly that is an acquired discipline. Most people don't post their trash, I'm keeping it real.

I've been using iron bias on the Equinox to assist with some kinds of trash like shotgun shells, it pushes the cheap alloys to an iron tone, and I dig far less trash. The older shells are still a problem, guess they used better alloys. There are lots of hunters here. On the 600 you can't push it far enough to lose nickels. It's a crutch, but it works.

There's no bias control on the Deus, so I'm back at square one. 🤬 There are some people looking into Disc IAR in relic mode, I'm going to as well but I'm not gonna be going out this week because I'm getting ready to go to the beach for a week and everything is going to be different 🤣

I'm looking forward to the new permission when I get back, but also can't wait to get out on the beach. I'm going to use the Equinox the first day, and alternate the Deus until I decide which one does a better job. I think it's gonna be about the same. 🙂 My wife wants a diamond 😁

I went home for the night, this morning went to a old permission loaded with nails, iron of all sorts and sizes! Dug mostly well matter of fact nothing but nails, iron mostly small big headed but acouple bigger chunks of flat iron! Using sensitive ft silencer 4,bottle caps 2 could tell looking back(I was once agian chasing broken signals). Ran deep hc for an hour or so and that's were it gets worse,I only dug iron mostly at good 89-91 tid. Seems to up average by 3-7 numbers and any nail with a big head could go from broken to good with enough wiggle wop!? Are yall seeing this up average of numbers with deep hc? Again I was chasing it just seems really easy to wiggle a nice high false out of deep hc imo!? These are the finds nothing great and 20 iron pieces atleast(nails, chunks, few flatty that got canned, not in pics) anyone know how old the rivet is or pottery(never dug pottery in a hole before)!? The lead piece is odd like a cut off bullet tip or something. Any info on bullet,it has no serrated grooves no rings at all but I'm not familia!?

F350platinum I hope my pics and questions are ok along with my experience this morning which I reckon is related!? No finds to trump yours just some garbage!:) curious for info on said garbage though.

Bob, your finds were really good with the 3 war nickels and the rest but that new permission has me really jealous! Lol.   I am eagerly awaiting all the great stuff that’s going to come out of that place!   Oh, and we must be close in age…never saw Styx, but did see Journey and Rush and others in that era.

First concert Aerosmith 1998 knoxville tn grew up on the classics mentioned here! I'm most likely 20 years or so younger though and branched off to much more aggressive tunes! Lol

I second NCToads' assessment on updating your D2, if you're happy with it (and after that find you should be 👍), you should wait for something official. My D2 is at 11-3-2022, the dealer updated it and put some old Deus 1 programs on it.

I have it from a very reliable source that it's not so much the version of my machine that leaves me slightly underwhelmed with the D2, it's more my soil condition (no mineralization at all) and the fact that I came to it from an Equinox. 😁 Still love the lil thing ♥️

So dance that "silver jig", pat yourself on the back and get out there. You're doing great and your posts are improving. 🙂 My enthusiasm got me beat up some at first, it's a rite of passage.

BTW be careful of revealing too much about your hunting locations... 🤔 You don't want 50,000 others in that area. It's a fine line.

I'm happy with it for sure! In my nail test full tones doesnt seem to work as good as others but yesterday sensitive ft was screaming in the bushes! I'm impulsive so I'll have to qwell my desire for updates as logic has been spoken⬆️

I hope someone shows up I'll have a digging buddy! Lol minerals were/are hot where I dug this stuff or atleast my pinpointers profind/carrot both were pains in the arse! Have to balance on the sides pushed down hard to even be usable!  The nox is solid as a rock(someone should laugh)!:)

For a non-regular to get a single coin graded, with certified shipping and insurance, I'd guess $60-$80 range.  You can e-mail them and ask for an estimate.

Keep in mind that any damage due to having come from the ground or from overzealous cleaning will garner extra (negative) attention in the grading report.

It has minor scratches from rocks. Water and wipe with a finger and in the coin container was or is my process! I didn't realize it was special before even posting this and then looking it up but being somewhat of a coin collector amatuer I knew not to take the brushes to it!:) heck to get a cool ngc pcgs case $80 may be well worth. I'll have to get serious on this. Thanks again. I need more curb strips I'm done with spider webbed woods after this find, although random woods finds me the best coin I may ever dig! Lol silly world

Actually Ebay *sold* items (not asking prices) are a good way to evaluate coins, assuming proper grading.  Yes, that 1895-O is the key to the Barber dime series (ignoring the 1894-S which is retirement level value -- only 24 minted...).

As mentioned by F350, coins that have been professionally graded and sealed (PCGS and NGC are the biggies and most respected, but there are  others) bring a premium price but their grading cost accounts for some of that.  PCGS pricing assumes they've graded it.   It's also a retail price, not what a non-dealer will likely get.  Red Book has typical retail prices for coins that have not been professionally graded.

    Bottom line -- excellent find!

I've always wanted to send one off to be graded,do you know rough estimate of cost for that? I couldn't believe it when I scrolled down past $15 ebay prices to coinbook first then my pcgs app to see it's rare! I dont find rare anything's but my wife! Haha

     Thanks

There ya go, PCGS is a great place to have them graded, I think there's another. Glad it's not your first rodeo, I was just kidding ya because you didn't mention the "O".

Depending on grade, and I'd put it in the lower ones, you still have a rare and valuable coin there. 🙂 Kudos.

I knew you were once I got out of the email and read it all! Like I said that's a bad habit I need to work on!

Feels good,I just wanted to have something to join the fray. Your tearing the detecto time up,good for you though!

Hold on there Tex 😀 gotta do your research. Don't look on eBay or Etsy for coin values, here's a fair reference but our resident numismatist may chime in:

    https://www.usacoinbook.com/coins/1405/dimes/barber/1895-O/

That's an "O" mint mark coin, very valuable, but would have to be officially graded to get top dollar. 🙂 That may cost you plenty, and depending how you handled and cleaned it may reduce the final verdict.

Great hunt, you lucky dog. I have never found a Barber coin except "V" nickels. I've also never dug a silver Roosevelt. 👍

Thanks btw, that's the only valuable thing I've ever dug so I'm super happy!😁 I have a 1805 farthing really nice  but not valuable.

6hrs roughly of deep Bush hunting for cw relics (my favorite). The barber was a nice 91 banger of a signal! Thought it was a plate(never dug one) was so excited and pleasantly excited seeing it wasn't a plate! Mostly fired bullets,if not all fired but hey I'll take em! The one looks flayed open is wild!

This was a few hours 2 over 2 rained out days in hamilton county tn. The 1st day I dug several nails chasing broken,1 way signals running modified general program but once i got my head together and stopped chasing zero nails but a few modern bullets not shown (although i think 2 are modernish). 2nd day zero iron dug I didnt chase, only dug 2 way slammers! I sometimes get in a habit of chasing iffy stuff same on the nox because I've dug bullets 8-10" that beep iffy,iron,1way and it's a time consuming frustrating bad habit! 2nd day( pic with dime and bullets) ran mostly modified sensitive ft and enjoyed it alot although had to fight myself to not chase those iffy iron nails that sound good once every few wiggles one way I did chase 2/3 times but opened the hole to even worse signal, covered and moved on!

These 2 days made me feel great about buying the D2! Deep Bush hunting nothing I've swung compared to ease of use and the signals when over something good were loud, clear and strong! Confidence building strong! I guess I didnt take with dime so 1st day pic with brush, second dime+bullets on towel(small batch) then combined on towel. I did dig 2-4 shotgun 12th Georgia's as well not in photos.

Feeling happy to have something to share! Goodluck fellas

One day I started having weird interference on my D1 in a remote rural location with hardly a powerline in sight.

Turned out the farmer next door had set up an electric cattle fence. It rendered a wireless fireworks control system we tried to use later totally inoperable.

That's something to keep in mind, thanks!

No electric fence in the situations I mentioned I'm a retired farm hand so knowing of electric fencing my senses keen! Linking it to wierd detector issues less keen so thanks anything to store for future problems is great!

Since the major issue outside hotel I've used it in my room factory gains and not had a single complaint! Also really putting it through test elevated, flat big nails, small nails you name it and I'm super impressed honestly. Pitch audio is imo leaps ahead of the others in my test and ignores the nails very impressive! My main reason of buying however was the allure of full tones and learning sound well to be different than ding ding ding! So I'll have to let that go because full tones isnt good in these test at all! Imho not in the same galaxy as pitch or even 5,4,3 tone in these nails

  15. Ok weirdness but I think a good thing! Well I've been swinging/nail testing in the middle of my hotel room past 2 hours! ZERO emi issues on factory sensitivity! Smh it's odd but nothing to report if I hadn't experienced the outside unfixable emi. Maybe I should go back to that spot. So nailtest(1 down barrel always) 2 & 1 for total 3 and 2. The one down the barrel flat and suspended, other 2 sorta kinda monte setup with 1 of those suspended 1" at times. As one would expect fast in pitch(pwn) eats the others lunch. Slow swing speed or just not super fast I almost couldn't lose the dime at 5" in seems I had to go a bit faster at more than 5ish". Seems like park did the worst to me which I wouldnt have thought this going in. Gen,sens, sensft, park, relic, deephc are the only programs I tried and did it many configurations, slow, fast, close, deep, changing settings on all as well. When or if I had notch like say rattleheads(metal detecting nwga) on the fast(any program)pitch  for coins video he put out! Seemed to greatly affect this test with any program suspended nails. Other than notch I didnt notice anything hurting hitting the dime not bottle caps, silencer oh and full tones seems worse than all tones or pitch for consistency hits/sound. Pretty much all the way around in fast pitch silencer 2 bottle cap 4 react 3/4 either audio response 5 really really confidence providing and I was thorough in trying all mentioned with same adjustments from high to low on anything that affects performance did not intend writing or I'd be more thorough in describing such events! I have no interest in deceiving anyone though! Seems plenty deep enough if your hunting thick nailheads as well also hitting great with slow speeds I did not think that was the case before! This thing whether silencer or iar or what not it eliminates the iron atleast actually dug squares 1 straight,2 slightly bent to the point one would high tone without filters in place but acouple notches on silencer or iar gone like yesterday!

Cannot wait to get back out hunting. Maybe I'll try some narly squeaker nails tomorrow. Goodluck be safe

Got a full day in on the Deus 2 in two places, river shore and landing. Chase and I have hunted this place pretty thoroughly, like my first time out I didn't expect to find much.

What I was hoping for was one of those "deep silvers" I'm always hearing about, but silver being such a high conductor, I can't imagine missing much with this machine.

It's a great place to detect although there is a lot of poison ivy.20220401_094913.thumb.jpg.4743e1e8d222a15d3d01ecb14b24715c.jpg

There was supposed to be a lower tide today but it didn't happen. Wind kept the water in the river.20220401_085715.thumb.jpg.6680f36a07c7e344024b161454f397c9.jpg

I hunted along the shore first, only got a couple of copper screws. No more toasted coins. 😵 Used Beach Sensitive, I found when I got to the sand I kept getting 24/26, switching out of DeepHC got rid of the false signal.

Went through the landing area where my golf cart was, nothing but trash. As a matter of fact I've never dug this much trash with my past two detectors in one day.20220401_164249.thumb.jpg.668dd1e14ebf21ad38ad956a83d73923.jpg

I was using Deep HC, and General for a while. Gotta get used to the sounds the detector makes in big iron. It falsed big time. I did get another Model T hubcap, my avatar. 😀

Only dug 3 good things today:20220401_190708.thumb.jpg.9d056b846baf4147aed79506b3acf484.jpg

An interesting old button, a faucet handle, and most of some sort of fancy but broken brass plate. The button is very different:20220401_190755.thumb.jpg.ecf960801880c43782f8b59c52adc73f.jpg20220401_190723.thumb.jpg.10d84139f7fcc99463a2ea07c4cc83bb.jpg

    never seen one like it.

    Some observations:

Deep HC eats coil battery fast. Almost didn't make a full 8 hour hunt. There was 1 bar left. The remote and headphones were fine.

Used my new MI6 pinpointer today, I could only get sensitivity to 45. It works good with the Deus but in my estimation it's no Garrett. The real star of the day was my Quest X pointer Max, I would have dug a lot more iron without it. It's quirky but serves it's role in the hole. 😁

I really like the WS6 backphones, they fit well, are loud enough, give me plenty of situational awareness, and I like how the detector turns them on and off with the MI6. In the future I plan to use an APTX-LL transceiver and any headphones I want. 🙂

I really like the Deus. I do think I would have done better with my Equinox, but this seems par for the course learning a new machine. I was surprised not to dig any aluminum save for one pull tab.

     Hey F350Platinum,

Grew up a Chevrolet guy, 3rd gen Fords till now are best looking trucks on the road though and converted me! Pretty nice looking area your in or atleast the lack of houses piled on top one another is comfortable to me! Which find is model t hubcap? Have you by chance watched tnsharpshooters video on signs to look for to identify iron falsing!?
