  1. This is the haul -3 modern .45 slugs and of course a few mushroom tipped nails(not many,I dont even like mushroom tips!).  Wondered off in the bush away from fort earthworks thingy mabob to my own demise! No success, got back over whr there are many many bullets still in dirt(walking over my filled holes every trip and pulling others within feet. Also just overwhelming with metal in a pretty large area(earthworks I have not been back in it,its just to much). Again lost time going away from my hole only to start the jonesing(I need bullet!) And get after the damn nails(if your seeing 85 on hit or miss signal it's a mushroom tip or just skinny nail) imo!

Settled down finally after to many metal bombed holes(pinpointer going bananas every direction) yes I balance it! Dug smart scraped every find in pic in maybe hour n half! Just like other thread "no need to guess or chase sketchy broken signals, every good find solid as can be!"

If anyone knows about iron rings? Tell me things!

If anyone knows what flavor bullet these are!? Tell me things, please!

          Have a great night,happy hunting

I have the big numbers. I was just wondering what the 3/11 version changed. I'll re-update again to 3/11.

I'm stuck on a January version I think, have to look again! If so I'd like to know these fixes as well. I'm happy with it either way so idk if I need to pursue an update until .7 hits!? Yep 13-01-2022 version 6

Great photos. Very helpful to get an idea of what the site is like. Looks like plenty of swinging room.

Wish I would have taken better photos, I was digging the lead otw to re finding fort thingy majig so almost dark had to scramble to find it! So many signals, before my earthworks scramble I dug maybe 2 nail holes(btw if this machine doesn't give solid repeatable it's not a good target, that accounts for us making it hit with wiggle! If I've wiggled for repeats its damn iron 100%) I'm sure their will be situations like edge of detection but in heavy iron you can take it to the bank or that's what I'm seeing! After my scramble wiggled away my time chasing the glorious nail! Lol

I'll  have more to come maybe right here, should I keep same sight on this thread!?

          Thanks fellas, I'm loving it!

I don't have any problem seeing the screen. The large numbers to me are so large they're almost annoying. I do just fine with the original screen. The ideas posted by Steve and others were better, it almost seemed like they said:

"Ok, you guys want big numbers, eh? We will give you big numbers" 😀

The issue for me and probably because I have an Equinox, is that the numbers do not stay on screen long enough. In Relic mode you have to watch the screen.

It would be great to have a few milliseconds adjustment for the TID display. 🙂

Doesnt make good sense how the numbers pop for blink and you missed!? Lol I dont have big numbers version, like you idc about em! Would be nice if they were up same as any other unit and not play the deus staredown!

Nice finds!  I’ve only found one CW era bullet.  Just wasn’t much CW activity around here in Western NC.  You’re right about those faint whispers on the d2.  Much better audio modulation than the nox.

For sure my first run 8/9" quarter and minie ball testing the signal was faint to the point I wasnt sure at all and nox banging it! Up 1 audio response is big helpful imo if your a pwm guy! Square isnt for me instantly chopped it out of everything but it may not need adjusted! Very happy with it now though, I cant really explain how I felt first swings but I had big doubt! Possibly disgusted just didnt understand the huge audio modulation, its second to none from my experience!

Rev war action in western nc!? I'm lucky to travel far as getting in the thick cw action! Not alot where I live exactly but Cumberland gap is 20miles so maybe one would consider that (whr i live). In my county specifically biggest unit 1500 cav, william edmundson "grumble" jones and his boys ran around a few months just not any concrete written details the few there are my county doesnt have records from then. Scouring war of the rebellion I have figured out alot in many places that you cant google maps because they dont exist.get in thoss books (google books) for free you may be surprised at how close some units may have been! If your toward tn or va then your not far from some kinda cw action I bet!

Dug some more today I'll get pics in this thread shortly

Very cool finds! The Minie Balls are most likely Union and the smaller bullet is probably a much more modern brass jacketed .45 Auto round. The spikes are interesting too, given the description of the round fortification protecting the bridge, it was likely a gun emplacement for a small artillery piece. Good Hunting!

Also I will return to said fort structure and do some more investigations maybe some pictorals

The Captain is correct.  Those are Yankee mini balls.   CS made have two "rings" instead of three.   Still nice finds!

    congrats.👍

They only made two rings? Only used 2 rings? Union, reb I really dont mind which because they're mine forever bahaha! Lol I just didnt realize this only 2 ring thing if true across the board!?

Yeah I think your correct on small it's no  .45 though its 9mm 115gn! You may very well be correct but the rebs had many 3 ring variations as well(I'm pretty certain) could darn sure be incorrect though! Yeah spikes are pretty cool and I've never seen/dug any while finding cw relics from miss to d.c. on my working away sacrificial adventure time!

          Thanks el Capitan ghostlight

When I was your age young feller I did most of my bush hunting at the local saloons and dance halls.

Trust me I wasted 15 years of life with many years of hunting, chasing good times and downright uncivilized behavoir! Imo wasted, not all regrettable though! Lol wife, kids, several homes, gun enthusiasm, detecting all back seat to work(things need paying for) firvtge last 10+ gotta pile up good choices now! Have fun,be safe, thanks:)

Those are adult years also, teen years same-ish just much more cowboying started riding 5,6 yrs old ended 24yrs old to shitty life choices! No rodeoing. Some team pinning, hard trail riding, broke many(despised dumb animals) just a horse riding lifestyle was a daily thing basically!

  10. Just my odd sarcasm is all (not telling whr I may be bush hunting in the south)! Yeah east coast had many cw soldiers, vets I think yanks had 9 million men could be wrong maybe 7. Many more than rebs, all that I mean is I know people find stuff up north but Montana its probly slim if not slim it's possible unicorn hunting!

I've had the pleasure of digging 50-60 of what I thought were mostly .58 cal minie balls. Turns out if you measure, weight them I have 7,8 different varieties of .54/.58/.69/.71 and pistol examples too. Pretty neat once I realized this (not so long ago) and i think these are possibly. 54 cal but very well could be .58 cal union for all i know atm.

    Great review!

And bummer on the battery life, especially given how finicky it is to charge and how it can't be charged in the field, while in use like the Equinox can (although I can't imagine what it would take to design a pinpointer that can be easily used while being charged).

The Pro-Find 35 has discrimination ability, but the ferrous and nonferrous sounds are very similar to each other...but then again, I don't have the best ears, so maybe it's just me.

Yes sir pro find tones are easily not noticed to me anyway! I do get in the zone and excited though. I've had one since it came out and just recently started paying attention to the ferrous pulsating sweetness! Pulsating sweetness! Lol saved me effort a few times today actually!

Haha 🤣 out of likes and laughs for today. 😁 I'm sure it will learn to roll over until it gets the printed bipod for the cuff. 😀 Then it will know how to "sit" and "stay". 🙄 It already knows "roll over" 😵

It also had the dreaded "missing screw" bug that I saw in a Gigmaster video this morning. 🤣 20220410_183637.thumb.jpg.79a251b680c64e86d0f2d131fa13af75.jpg

Luckily I have an old can full of bolts. A really old one. 🤣

I blue locktightededed mine up minute zero! Absolute first thing had driver and lock tight in hand before I lifted the box flap! Lol xp wasn't getting over on me,not today xp! Thanks whoever's video/post I saw shining light on loose screws!🤣

  13.   Well k said I'd be back in a bit with a story(experience) and success was had! Thicket hunting along a creek were johnny rebel once crossed 20-30k troopers, artillery and such! Over the railroad bridge alone!

No maps exist of troops closer than a mile or three,no written detail exist in stating anything but retreat was made across a railroad bridge!

Reason I spelled this out I found a fort of some kind, circle-ish 4ft banks up from ground level 15-20ft across with what looks to me like a dirt platform against one side(back side if rebs did it. Doesnt make sense now that I'm thinking about it,maybe union thought rebs were coming back then platform area would be in front. Or then again rebs occupied the area for 3+ years and bridges were protected so platform would work in front across the board reb/union.

Maybe one of you fellers can identify the bullets!? My caliber,t&t are at the house, they are sude cast(I think that's what its called, line down the sides from making em). I dont know alot about bullets but I feel like they are reb(idc which they are) from looking through that book many hours measuring, wieghing and looking more! Lol

Pistol bullets is modern!? I didnt think so thought .36 cal colt or sage in field the wierd dirt is tricky/red concrete I worked the brush overtime scrubbing these things! Never encountered such dirty dirt. Wierd flat lead is odd,any ideas?

Darn spikes loud 91 I couldn't help thinking PLAAAATE, excitement all around and NOPE damn spikes! Never seen any like these though( in earthworks).

Dsmn good evening, dropped bulliets are most fun to me! Hope to get more time this week for thicket busting! D2 is superior in the bush to the nox,detect-ed,non broken anything nox800 if I may! I'm really starting to like this machine and to be quite honest first day I had to talk myself outta discounting it! Heads up yard test against nox wasn't seeing it, audio response up one, reactivity can go to 1.5-2 and be deep while plenty fast for most sites and understanding it has soft real soft whispers on deep sound when nox is beep beep beep and dig imo compared. At first though I can see people discounting it over such things for sure, btw square tones as yall know remedies this also but I didnt buy this machine for nox imitation so only run pwm! I did chase a handful of signals but not many but still wasted a hour of a 3 hr hunt, thick stuff, roots galor just tough going so any non desirable chasing adds up! I was happy though 2nd hole was one of these exquisite relics! Happy enough to mostly forget the mosquitoes were attempting to pack me off! Damn eat up! Lol

Thanks for comments, input, knowledge in advance! Happy hunting,be safe

Btw fellas for context, the site back home I say is loaded with iron and signals to be unaffected by the iron almost dont exist! This is a bit of stuff that comes out of 8/10 holes of any non ferrous. Modern clad for testing on this chip box in mid hotel room!:) a few of real bent/steeple nails actually have good signals and this is just what I saved for testing.

See the bent up paper card(nails on different plain) for elevation on an already elevated chip box!

When I go back to this place next weekend I'm gonna try to keep track or document the madness!  Headed for the Bush now,be back in a bit with some sort of experience! Good lord willing and the creek dont rise

Have a good day, just saw the sack o junk and had a lightbulb!

Only got out for about 1 hour today at old school. Out in the field there used be some kind of building or house. A lot of iron and got a few IH's and other coins in the past. I've hunted for a few years there and don't get anything there anymore.

I took the Gold Kruzer over there today. I used Deep mode with 5x9.5 dd coil. I dug a couple bullets and lead. A piece of iron and little pieces of canning lids that are shredded all over the place there.

Hardly worth posting but I did anyway. Sorry about that.

This morning I decided to hit a park the next town over.  I’ve been there twice before, but never got much.  Today was no different.  $1.94 in clad and lots of junk.  On my way home I stopped at my old house permission to see if I could eek out anything good.  First up was part of a silver bracelet.  It’s nice and chunky weighing in at 16.5 grams.  No marks on the piece I got but it’s silver.  Shortly afterwards I got a big signal going up into the low 90s with some iron grunt.  About six inches down I pull out what looked like a lock but it didn’t have a key hole.  After getting home and cleaning it off it’s an old Edwards Mfg Co No Key lock!   What I thought were rivets around the perimeter are little buttons you can still push to one side or the other to set the combination.  I lubed it up and the buttons work.  I’m still reading up on this thing and did find a youtube video of how to figure out the combination, but I’ll have to watch it again as I didn’t follow everything the guy was saying.  Apparently the buttons also rotate and have three equally spaced, very small hash marks that line up with a hash mark on the lock body.  If anyone is familiar with how to open one of these please, by all means let me know.  Lol.

Nice write up!   I also like programs 2 and 3.

Thanks toad! I know I could have a bit more structure but I'm wierd like if someone dismisses me because of such I take it as a slight on much less privelage folk. Which are the folk I come from but I'm certain that way of thinking is also what hold those folks back and they dont achieve because of the silliness of they were meant to be small folk! Lol nothing to do with tokens, I guess one part of me wants to be an animal one part civilized to match the achievements! Lol silly world. I also live a life alone on the road working and dont do phone convos much so maybe theirs that. Aether way I appreciate the looks, comments, any knowledge I feel I could implement and I'm gonna learn this thing well it's what I do!  And chase signals because a few lucky digs in the past!:)

Thanks, but to be honest it was all of 5 minutes of effort.  I simply zoomed in on your pics, read that it was a GM Corp coin, and that clued me in to recognizing "Pontiac" and the "Chief of the Sixes" slogan and then Google did the rest.  I like doing the research on the whatzit finds and potential detecting locations.  Part of the fun encompassed in the hobby, especially relic detecting.

A quick google and read but effort none the less appreciated!:)
