  1. Mitch,

Dont say if you got your coil over a nugget you would have heard it!  I found untold nuggets on beat up patches we’ve swung on for years.  This last trip to Rye Patch proves I and other top notch detectorist leave gold behind...no one gets all the gold, there is always one left and another for another day.  It crazy, “Every Day, is a Different Day”. Listen to the dirt, the GPZ is a great machine if you listen to what it’s telling you.  I’ll give you a pointer or two when I see you at the outing!

  2. Peg & Mitch,

Peg, it was warm when I was out there and I’m sure no bargain during your visit.  Best deal is a quad or side by side to skip and jump...I like finding and area that will keep my attention with quality targets, so keep moving until you find the spots.  The big one and a couple of it’s buddies came off a new slope.  Had to leave a few for Robin, for our next trip! And have them marked on the GPZ in case I forgot, lol.

    Mitch,

You know Rye Patch pretty good and don’t think for a minute that I haven’t been skunked out there before.  Old saying of mine is “Every Day is a Different Day” when Metal Detecting, crazy the stuff you leave for a different day...see ya at the outing!

  3. Steve,

l’ve been interested in the Nox 800 for relic and the little coil for gold vs the Monster!  I’m well versed with the Monster and it’s capabilty in hot soil vs my GB2.  But haven’t made my mind up Monster vs Nox.  Those are some tiny nuggets, but the hot ground factor, I’ll have to see it in action if your up this way this season let me know.

  4. Dave,

We still talk about that 2200.  It found us a huge Patch.  But with the hot ground and the noise of the 2200, Jeff was having a problem finding anything under a couple dwts, lol.  He upgraded a few months later to a GP 3000, which Rudy still owns.  GPZ, is the ticket and loves the ground in your neck of the woods...I should be out your way a few times this Winter.

  5. Cobill,

Love your History lesson!  I’m not here to get either of you claim owners upset!  All claim owners have the same problems w/Unauthorized minerals withdraws.  Like Clay’s above information everyone should know the basics to know where they are in searching for a nugget!  The underlining problem is only One Percent do.  Next time your out in the Goldfields, stop and ask someone where section 8 or 18 is located.  Like, Clay mentioned above not knowing where your at isn’t much of and excuse...but, it’s a fact.  Until all Prospectors are educated on researching open/claimed mineral land status this is a never ending story we face with our claims.  Now, I’ve had adjacent claim owner problems as well...they all ready know your sweet dredge or Detecting spots.
