  1. I really like the built in bag pockets for placing all of the nails, lead wire, boot tacks and other trash found during detecting. The slip in knees pads are sweet also. Not constricting like wrap around knee pads. The fabric is very tough and stitched well. They will probably be very warm though on hot summer days.

  2. I was in the market for some new work pants. I came across these Caterpillar pants. The only metal on them is the zipper and button. They have built in nail bag pockets. Slots for slip in knee pads.(sold separately). I think they will be well suited for metal detecting. Thought I would share. Merry Christmas everyone.

  3. Maybe try to get into the bedrock cracks and fissures. Get off of the wash bottom and try the benches on the sides. Also look for any drywash piles, or any stacked rock or un natural landscape. Persistence will pay off. Use slow coil speed and control. And learn to trust your detector.

  4. I personally would like to see someone with lots of money, time and detector expertise. Strip down a Gpz 7000. And attempt to make a lighter and durable unit out of it. Something similar to what Steve has been doing with the Garrett ATX. To me, this is probably way easier said than done.

  5. I personally agree not to have a off topic forum. I come here to learn and improve my detecting and prospecting skills.

I really could care less on some of the miniscule detector details. Like this coil has 180 windings and this other coil has 184 windings. I just want a detector that works and how can I make it work better for me.

But that being said. I feel there needs to be a place where we can post information and news on our mining and prospecting rights that might be taken away or infringed upon by agencies, governments, environmental groups. But without getting political about it. Just stating the story and educating ourselves and let others know what might be happening to our hobbies or livelihood in the mining and prospecting areas.

Just a area where we could post links where members could go read the articles themselves. And not get into hissy fits about where your political views are and how yours is wrong because it is different than mine. Hopefully that makes some sense.

  6. It has been a while since we last heard from Klunker on this forum. I sure miss hearing his insights on detecting and his other commentary. I don't know if he is just too darned busy detecting and finding gold? Or his computer broke? Or if he has been banished from the forum from the powers above . Any which way, I sure miss his 2 cents worth. Please come back!

It's nice to have a pup that can drive (1st photo) It gives you more time to look for possible detecting sites. I gave up on my pup so I'll have to teach Sourdough Scott.

    Nice gobagold.

When Klunker opens his secret gold vault. And weighs up a Troy pound of Au on his Fairbanks Morse dock scale. To purchase a 4 seat side by side Razor. Then I will gladly drive. Myself, Rooster and Luther barely fit in the Jeep.
