Great job Norm!

You should have hit me up when I'm the Graeagle area. I'd would have bought you lunch.

I just sometimes sit back and think of I'm missing some deeper targets because of what settings I don't run. I 99% of the time run....
High Yield
Difficult
Sensitivity 16 or so
Low smoothing

I just like a quiet machine. Maybe I need to break out of my comfort zone ?

Scott the never skunk sdc is the best creek hunting bedrock detector out there. I used to use the 8x6 NF coil and 5000 combo, but the sdc cleans up on flat small, low conductive gold we find in creeks. The 5000 just didnt hear a lot of these targets for whatever reason. The factory sdc coil is hard to beat and very waterproof. Ive had mine in the creeks the last 3 years snipe- detecting and no ill effects.
Wes, thanks for the input. Hope all is well with you. Haven't seen you in a long time.

Nuggetfinder 8" x 6" Sadie coil. Not Coiltek.? Personally I never risked dunking it in water. A brilliant little coil.
Good luck out there
JW ?
Jim, thank you for correcting me.

If I recall correctly, the coiltek Sadie coil for the gpx series was waterproof. You think for a waterproof SDC, they would have engineered a waterproof coil. SMH?

Has anyone here tried taking the unit to a Batteries Plus store. I have them replace all of my lithium batteries for my cordless power tools. They are better batteries than factory when I get them back. I will have to ask them next time I go into Reno.

Scott, Todd with the local club has the coils for his SDC.
Brian.
I just spoke with Todd. He said the 10x5 elliptical was the hot ticket for him. Very sensitive. He didn't really like the 14x9 elliptical, not sensitive enough on the small gold. He didn't get the 11 inch round. So no feedback there.

I just got a screaming deal on a SDC 2300. So just inquiring if anyone has any more experiences with the aftermarket coiltek coils? I'm seriously thinking about getting some to make the SDC a patch hunting machine.

Because Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Scott was already taken.

This is about the finest detecting dog around. Rooster is his name. He is my eyes and ears when my head is down concentrating on signals. He never strays far at all. He works for jerky, ham sammichs, and water. And even the grumpiest prospector I know, the infamous Klunker, even let's him ride in the front seat. ??⛏️

I added a new twist this year. Next to the panning trough. Is a old miners cabin. It has a recording of the trials of the miner back in the day. I was telling the kids the cabin was haunted when they were listening to the recording. When they were all engrossed listening to the story, I would sneak to the opposite side of the cabin,of the doorway where the kids were, and scare them at the window. About 30% of the kids jumped. Ha.

This is the most boring thread ever. I'm very ashamed that Klunker made me post it. ?
