I need a beach near me!
Nice finds and hope you luck on your next hunt.

If there are coal power plants around the area it could be waste from there once it was burnt.
When I was growing up I had seen items just like that from the steel plant near me and that was what it was from.
People would use it in their driveways instead of rock because the steel plant would let you take a truck load at a time for free.

Thanks for the video, it was very interesting.

Good find and keep it up.

"This email is to let you know that you are the winner of the Minelab’s Find of The Month competition for September 2019. Congratulations! We thought your story and finds were great!"
Steve I think that it should have read "Minelab’s Find of The Year"
Glad that they have honored you with their message, but they need to correct their sentence.
Congrats.

If you have techniques that work with the Equinox
The thing that I have been doing since it has been so dry at our parks is to shallow hunt on a sense of 15.
Once I get a target I will use my carrot to pinpoint the target and then make a small slice across the top of the target.
Then I use my knife to get under it and pop it out. Then step hard on the opening of the ground and go to the next target.
The park ranger actually thanked me for doing it that way because it has never killed any grass as of yet.

Great finds and I am sure you will fine another great spot in Texas. Keep up the good work and good luck.

Thanks for the update and interesting read, I will try to get the update for me to learn.
I had a problem on the download, and read some of the articles about the problem and I will try again when I get back home from TN.
We are on a hunt of a life time if we should find what we are looking for.

Steve,
Glad that you had a great hunt and found something as old as you have. I could never hope to ever find anything as great as that. Think about what that axe was used for and who could of it belonged to all those years ago. You have brought their memories back to life.
The bust reminds me of a Caesar's seal which would of had a wooden handle on it with his seal engraved into it.
I may be wrong about that, but it is a possibility.

HA....yeah...you can't tell its 26 inches long from the picture.
O.K. then all you need now is only 4 of them to weave together to make a mans necklace out of them.
Just kidding and it is still a great find, keep up the hunt you may just find the woman who lost it.

Nice find just have to find about 10 more and hook them all together to fit you.
Just kidding, but it looks like an ankle bracelet.

Nice finds, keep up the good work there. Stay cool and drink plenty of water in this heat.

Should you of found the cross around the New Orleans area it would be near the 1920-1935 era. It is showing the cross with the sun in the center of it. That design was used in the French areas near N.O. due to the religious beliefs at the time. Some Catholics were converted Voodoo believers and they held on to some of their beliefs.
Hope this helps.

it appears to be brass
That is what I had thought, they are unusual to find but are for things like good luck, safe travels, and many other things like that.
If you find one with a skeleton leave it, it's bad luck.

Great find and nice date on it.
Keep up the good work.

What type of metal is that Aztec thing?
It does look like something I have seen before years ago, but it was brass and came from Mexico.
Just asking thanks Valen.

Since there are so many variables, no guarantees it will work next time as power line load/time of day and even humidity all play a part in how well the noise propagates.
I have noticed that the past 2 days when I have been out that there has been so much noise I had to give it up.
There were power lines nearby and the humidity has been high also. There was even a camper who was on his cell phone almost the entire time I was there.
I did not think about the humidity until you pointed that out, Thanks for the new information on it.

When ever you use the pinpointer on the Equinox the more you swing over the target it can actually null the target out . The target will get smaller and if this happens go out of pinpoint then back into it.
I have noticed that and try to avoid doing that if I can.

I have to learn what I have now before I start updating. I am still learning the 800 and want to know it before I mess it up with a update.

Nice finds that you hit on and I will have to think about some of the old trails around here.

Would be great to get to a depth of 2-3 meters.
That type of depth is highly specialized and will cost to much for the average person.
I would think about something for ease of use and within your budget. There are several out there, and you can find some used ones on Ebay or on some forums.
Good luck

Great finds and lots of luck to you.
The coin with the hole in it does look like a Chinese coin that I have seen in the past.

The only other thing I can imagine is the phantom was a heavily corroded ferrous disc and corrosion halo (falsing high) instead of a dime that disintegrated upon recovery.
Chase that has to be what happened, because I seem to recall seeing odd in the soil. It looked almost like an old piece of ash from a burn pile if you know what I'm talking about. It was in small spot near the imprint that I dug up.

Great find, it looks like someone cut the design into it.
Am I correct on that or was it made like that.
