Not to be a "Debbie Downer" but be careful what you wish for. My AQ has been at FT for repair since they received it on January 4th of this year. Almost 2 months now. I would have thought that FT would be more responsive and obligatory to those who got the Limited and needed repair.
OG, great info on the AQ issues.
I'm hoping if and when I get the AQ limited, it will be the updated version OBN has been testing with better battery placement, improved headphones, volume switch issues resolved, etc.😃 I don't want the"original" model, now that improvements have been implemented.

Yes, I have read the manual. Over and over. Plus I have also done what Northeast has done and basically inserted a lot of DP, Knowledge Base and TreasureTalk articles based on a couple months of research. I have used the Z for about 3 years now too. I plan on posting this "revised" manual in the future for everyone to have. I am hoping it will be kind of like a wiki that others would want to add to so all the content is in one PDF. But before I do that I want to have a good "grasp" on how to adjust these controls for ZVT perfection (based on the ground you are in).
Hopefully some videos will roll in. Fingers crossed.
Great conversation and info. One of the reasons I contacted ML USA was because of all the manual "vagueness/weakness" on Ground Balance, which was the #1 issue for me...if you don't have excellent GB, you will miss alot of gold! I asked the ML experts on the phone in Australia to send out a Knowledge Based article on GB and nothing, nothing, nothing has been sent to GPZ customers! But not for JP, we would be totally lost & frustrated.😕
This is the #1 reason (totally frustrated) I sold my GPZ and "on the list" for the GPX-6000.

There has been no official price decision or announcement.
There has been no official release announcement on -AQ.
We will continue to sell -AQ limited as in the Past when the next batch will ready.Alexandre,
That's GREAT NEWS for me as I'm #7 on the waiting list for the next batch of AQ Limited!😀

All you really need is a Bluetooth 5.0 aptx low latency speaker; plenty to choose from on Amazon. I already got one for the GPX 6000, and it also works great with the Equinox.
Lunk, can you provide a link to the speaker you're using? Probably better than a hot headphone in Summer. Thanks,

Supposedly #7 from their last release. LOL, I figured the same thing and sent Rick K. the question. Joe Beechnut love's his AQ Limited, not the best in trashy areas since it's a PI. Would be nice to have some answers from Fisher.

I'm still #7 on the list for the AQ Limited and tried to ask if they were still being produced...no answer!

You can submerge the unit to a depth of 10'.

Jason,
All I know is when ML was getting ready to release the GPZ, Steve H. had already sold his other gold detectors so he had space for the new ML flagship detector. Well here we go again. Steve H. sold his GPZ and is awaiting the GPX 6000. Maybe he knows something or has secret contacts "in the know". I'm on the pre-order list too and trading in my GPZ, but I don't follow Steve H.....😀
I also noticed recently there are more detectors listed in the Classified section.

I just watched the FB live program on Treasure Talk. The new AQ will be released this summer, will have a depth rating of 10', an accessory 8" coil, and will cost $2,800 - $3,500!

Gerry, your GPX pic "Says it all"! The decision process is easy peasy.

Maybe it's because the GPZ 7000 has that massive 19" DOD coil that goes 40% deeper and most people can't lift it...that makes it better than the GPX 6000 on large, deep gold!😂 You just can't compare small coils to large coils on large, deep gold and the ML chart doesn't tell us the details we are looking for.
I just want to know when ML will release folks like JP and US dealers from their NDAs, so we can finally have some truth and answers to some of our basic questions???

I will hit the Q show tomorrow and ask Debbie, the Minelab rep, if she knows what GeoSense is. I doubt she does, but if so, will she even allowed to talk about it yet?
Also ask about 17” mono coil availability for US.

Well of course the GM 1000 has no timings, since it's VLF - that's where the comparison diverges - but according to what we know so far, there are 4 timings on the GPX 6000: Normal, Difficult, EMI cancel and Salt cancel, all of which are manually selected via buttons on the control panel. Nothing so far has indicated automatic switching of timings. But yes, it would be cool if there were other timings being utilized behind the scenes to compensate for changes in the detecting environment as they occur, certainly. Perhaps GeoSense runs multiple timings all at once, not unlike the multi-frequency tech of the Equinox. In any case, it will be interesting to find out just what makes the GPX 6000 work its magic.
Lunk, great review of the 6000 design concepts, which will simplify the operators decisions while detecting. The 5000 has way too many adjustments that make the operator second guess their settings. We just want to find gold!😀

I’m one of Gerry’s older customers trading in the GPZ for the 6000. Lighter, ergonomic, and no wires, bungee and harness for this 64 y.o. nugget hunter. 😀

OK JP,
I surrender to the NF Z-Search 12" coil and have been placed on Rob's list....some are coming to the USA, no ETA yet. The coil does appear to perform better, quieter, more stable, less touch sensitive, etc. than the 14" x 13" GPZ coil. It will compliment my stable of GPX NF coils, which are fantastic and have found gold everywhere I've used them. After all, when you have spent $10K+ USD on the GPZ and coils, what's another $1K+?
Merry Christmas JP and everyone on DP,

Lastly I can attest to a big improvement in sensitivity over standard and also less EMI and less Salt/Conductive signal, so the combination of less weight, less EMI, less Salt, less Saturation signal and correct electronic design tolerances all add up to a VERY obvious improvement in even the worst ground types.
If the first NF GPZ coil does not meet your needs then don’t buy, I for one applaud the honesty they’ve shown on their website which IMHO is highly downplayed based on my own personal experiences. Nuggetfinder have plans for more models in the future and when that happens I’m sure we’ll see more innovation as time goes on. Every coil bar 2 in our allocated stock have pre-sold with customers picking up their coils today. I now have customers buying into GPZ because of the weight reduction alone.
Because I helped develop this product and because I sell this product I’m happy to sit on the side lines and let others experiences filter through.
Yes I read his impressions, also highlighted "because I sell this product" and since I already have a 15" x 10" X-coil, it's still not worth $1,295 AUD for me in my quiet NNV ground. Maybe Chris Goulson will import some Z Search coils into the USA and I'll look at another size, when they are available.
-
I would need to see a video test comparison between the GPZ 14" coil vs NF Z Search 12" coil before dropping $1,295 AUD.
"That's just because we haven't received any of the coils to test out yet, so we haven't had a chance to do our own comparison. In Nuggetfinder's words "Our primary goal when developing this coil was to produce a lighter option for the GPZ 7000 without compromising stability or performance when compared with the Factory 14”x13”. Prospectors seeking significant depth and sensitivity gains should be advised to wait for other size options to be released at a later date."
No benefit, except a lighter weight coil, from everything I've seen on the Aussie forums and FB.

Does anyone have a picture of an AQ just slipped out of the box before it is taken off the 'board?' I need to send mine back and I want to repack it the way it came to me and I didn't take a picture.
Why do you need to send your's back? Seems like there may be a QC problem?

Great gold finds! What's going on with your AQ headphones? I'm awaiting my AQ and was wondering what to look for....

Steve,
I'm surprised First Texas did not include coil cable wrapping/securing instructions for water hunting, to prevent cable movement and noise problems. Jim Pugh noticed the problem in FL. right away.

Bill I have set that one on the side for now. I have to work out the bugs on it..I've got about 34 hours on it now and I've had 2 issues. One's I think I can resolve but it's going to take some me some time to figure out how to get around them. Once I get the 10 batteries done I will get back on it..if you watch my video's that is the one I use now. I'll be putting a video up later tonight of tuesdays hunt with the AQ..
Joe, well if you have any extra shorty or big batteries, I'll take one. If not, put me on the list for the next round of batteries. Thanks for all you do for the "rest of us".

I get the ten batts out there and give them several months I may do another round this winter when things are slow if everyone is still happy. The shorty is 140 plus shipping 15 dollars and the Big Battery is 170 plus 15 shipping. I expect the Big Batt to get 11 plus hours.

I was out twice last week with the shorty battery and it is now packed up and ready to go a few rounds with my friend Carolina...Give him a week with it and see what he has to say...I want his confirmation on the run time of 5 hours and 30 minutes and see if I need to make any adjustments...before I sell a few. Got rid of the m-8 headphone fitting and the battery is fitted with a M-12 8 pin CTX head phone fitting..(Very Common) and replaced the M-8 4 pin on the battery with a 90 degree molded cable that goes right to the end of the white shaft 4 pin power/headphone plug...So we got it down to One M-8 fitting..which the 90 degree is a Bulgin molded SS fitting..so it does not stick out like the stock...
Joe, so you are getting 5 hours and 30 minutes run time on the 4 EBL 26650? Glad I ordered 8 of those EBLs! I'm interested in buying your waterproof setup for my future AQ Limited. Let me know and great finds with your "new" modified AQ.
