  1. Heya Andy !

It sure sounds like you know how to find the good stuff !

Plenty of technical stuff flowing around this forum.

All ya gotta do is dig for it !!! LOL

Steve has put together quite a reference library and guides....

A few detector engineers keeping us all in line...

AND maybe a billion years of accumulated experience in the crew here ...Arrrrrrrrr

    DIG IN !

  2. Son's Of The Beach

season 2 the episode right after the last one ...When we last checked in on the beach our fearless hero went home just one step from Templar GOLD  ! Will he uncover the untold riches of Montezuma this trip ??  Maybe the Arc Of The Covenant !

Who Knows ?? ,,,,The Shadow do !

It was an unnervingly  warm (40*) rainy day and so I decided to take a quick run to the beach with a plan.....

High tide ugh , didn't check the chart ,The 800 stock coil  Beach 1  recovery 4  sens 20  F2-0  All metal on. Takin' ground grabs every few minutes as I wander down a low spot between the towel line and the dropoff..... Threshold cranked and movin' at a crawlI I was fixin' ta listen for faints like Joe OBN  oh ayuh. Surf was up too so NOT in the 40* water though !LOL  I forgot the boots and only had my low tops on and there's a 5 meter drop off at high tide there' , so that too !)

Just me , 2 surfers and a few walkers and an hour to go till have to run and beat rush hours across the bridge over the shipyard.

So I walked ,,,and walked , and walked , the surf was loud but so were the headphones ! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO threshold at around 434HZ very relaxing !

WAS THAT A BEEP ? Nope just one of the dumb old endangered plovers ! Looks like lunch ta meeeee ! Got any brothers? ye be a tiny thing !

First target !  , a  - -  no ID but a tiny little gurgle in the threshold   ! So the T Rex bit off  a mouthful and went to work , first scoop and it disappeared !  second scoop  gurgle back but more gurgly ! Third , fourth , it boop toned iron ! , fifth  , louder ,,,,,,sixth IT'S OUT !    Turn on the 35 and  ?????? It's aaaaaaaaa ,,awwwwwwww little piece of trap wire !

Time's up sucker head for the car , oh well it was starting to rain a little harder.....🙄nope !

OK , targets in the pocket  , I know , goin' commando , no batman belt , or pouch.  The 35 was in the same pocket .

Second target gurgles (in 2 directions!)  T Rex chomp chomp chomp ID 8 ,,, CHOMP, it's out !

I kick the pile and turn on the 35 m I think i see SILVER !!!!!!!!!?8?  BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ   a tiny aluminum clip from an ace bandage  . Rats !

Both very small and  deep though ,  Me likey gurgles  gurgle , gurgle , gurgle !!!!!!!

Time's really up now the rain is picking up , any day at the beach is better than a sharp stick in the eye ,      ??  Me thinks me metaphors might be  scrambling...ARRRRRRGH

  3. Essex Unearthed , is that you ?

I just watched the video titled UK Southend PierI caught a quick clip of the pier (I think!). I'll look at some more of the vids....

I was thinking that looked like a LOT of flat beach there.. plenty of ground to cover !

Then seeing the speed of the tide comin' in showed how flat it was !  Was that a negative low tide ? How much tide do you have there?

3-4 meter range here . sea temp just a bit above freezing today.  (Air temp in the "not" numbers !🙃)      Some of the negative low tides here in Maine are around a half meter. I wear my wool socks in the boots for WHEN a wave tops the rubber. It always happens LOL🙄

Pinpointer on the scoop handle ? ,,,,have to try that out !👍

(My T Rex scoop handle is almost the twin of that one on the Sito.)

  4. Welcome aboard Dasbear !

$400 is a good price point to look for a detector .

`This is a great place to find out everything you want to know about that BH and others as well.. I'm sure you'll be happy with what you end up with.

Where are you going to be detecting ? Maybe there's a member of the forum near you !

  5. Welcome aboard Dave the campfire never goes out here , Posts come in from all over the globe..

I've seen some good things about that detector. I'm sure you'll find a lot of experience here with it , or just about any detector .

Poke around in the reference sections Steve has put together some good finds there !

  6. LOL

I think you started it ?

Green ,,,,is the new white ?🙃 Whaaaaaat?

    It's always something.....

Those dimes were a nice sight ! And,,,I guess , the green was too !

It's been a pretty easy winter so far, But that's over NOW    OOOOOOOOIE ! It's somewhere around zero here , I'm scared to look at the thermometer...........the sun is all alone in the sky but seems to want to hide below the tree line.

I've also lived in Death Valley (and Florida , Arizona , Texas , , New Mexico  plus many not so hot places too , 6 months are what passes for a permanent residence for most of my life...,) so here I am maintaining the "proper balance" or some BS like that😜

I'm thinking of looking for a new digger instead of waiting for the thaw , something along the lines of a jackhammer but a little smaller , a hammer drill seems kinda not enough ,,,who am I kidding ? OK , I'm looking for one of those big excavators , do you think they're using that one on Oak Isl right now ????

  7. Nice finds.

All the gang up here in actual cold country held a meeting and have decided to help you out with your cold temps !!

At high noon prepare yourself for some warmth.

We're all gonna fart in your general direction>>>>>>>😁

Hope it helped you out and feel free to ask again anytime...

THX for pointing out how soft the ground is there . We appreciate seeing things NOT made of ice.😏 The OCEAN is 32* today.
