Which of these makes the best gold (nugget) hunter----the Equinox 900 with Coiltek 5X10" & Minelab 6" coils---or the XP ORX with the 5X10 h.f. coil?ย

I don't see why anyone would think prospectors don't need ferrous disc.
A gold PI is typically going to be designed to hit the tiniest bits possible and that can also mean tiny ferrous bits. A relic PI might be more tuned to hit bullet size targets at max depth while being less sensitive to every tiny bit of ferrous trash. In theory though you can do both in one detector so interesting to see why they feel the need for two models.
It could be nothing more than what coil the machine comes with.
We have no idea what the detector really looks like but let's go with the fuzzy profile as being real. Standard configuration with collapsing three piece rod, fairly large underarm battery. Big question - it it submersible? Beach hunters will be disappointed once again if the answer is no.
Fuzzy profile looks like a CTX or 6000.:)

I was wondering if anyone had this list. I remember seeing a Chase Goldman post that discussed this to some degree but cannot find it anymore.

I'm sure most of you have seen this by now, but thought I'd bring it to the attention of those who haven't. There's a new cable available with a simple push-on plug for the remote. It works well.
ย
It may not seem like a big improvement at first since you can just push the original plug on without screwing down the nut, but this one actually goes on a lot easier. When you pop it on, the cord will always be facing downward, which eliminates the issue of having to rotate the plug until it finds it's seat. Got mine from Serious Detecting for about 15 bucks. Money well spent IMHO. Sometimes its the little things that make life easier.
ย
Agree with you 100% De Wayne.----I got two of them from Richard (Backwoods Detectors)---$14 each.-----They are worth every penny (IMO).-------Del

At least for me, Beast Mode is a beast to setup for high mineralization. There are a truckload of hidden menu button pushes to take care of.......
Deep Target is totally awesome. What a great, easy to use and very effective feature.
Jeff-----Is it as good/deep as & have as effective of deep TID as the Deus 2? (with same size coils)

EVERYTHING'S a beast these days!ย ๐

Has the wife kicked you out of the house yet George???----Inquiring minds wanna know! ๐

I doubt many have bought both to know, so based upon the 800 with 6" vs the Manticore with m8 coil, I'd say the Manticore once the new firmware is installed on it.ย ย
The 6" coil I still think has the edge on the very tiniest pieces of gold, we are talking 0.00X of a gram stuff, aside from that the Manticore has the most change of punching deeper getting the bigger bits.
Thanks phrunt-----Is the following the latest firmware update on the Manticore?---6.20.0-3.71

IYO----Which one is the most effective gold (nugget) hunter----the Manticore with 5X8" coil or the Equinox 900 with 6" coil?

Why in the world didn't Nokta high light those buttons in the first place (like other companies do).
-
Jeff-----You mentioned that you used & did well with the Deus 2 with 11X13" coil in Sept. & Oct. 2023.------Do you feel that the Manticore with the 11" coil did better or the same as the D2 with 11X13" coil in this hunt situation?-----Putting it another way---do you feel you could have found these same targets with the Deus 2 with 11" or 11X13" coils?-------Thanks-------Del

Rest assured we are working the problem!
I wondered about that.---Thanks Ron

Just out of curiosity, I weighed the remote and the ws6 with the shaft adapter. ย The weight for the remote is 5.41 oz., and the weight of the ws6 with the shaft mount adapter is 2.52 oz.. ย The weight difference is 2.89 oz.. ย I tried swinging both ย when I was out detecting and I canโt really tell a difference when swinging the coil.
Very interesting---thanks for sharing that.

Where can you buy a NEL Snake coil in the U.S.?-----My two main dealers don't sell NELs.

Thanks gentlemen.-----I am now considering the Manticore (with extra M8 coil)---especially with Minelabs discounted price on the detector.-----However--I don't understand their "reasoning" for increasing price on it in Jan. & then doing a steep discount on it in April.----Buyers shouldn't complain about that though. ๐
