About Me

I've been detecting for 8 seasons now, as of 2024, mostly with an XP Deus.  I've owned several others (Garrett Ace 300, Fisher F75, AT Pro, Equinox 800 and most recently, Manticore.  Sold them all) but I speak Deus, so Deus it is. 

When I can, I detect old non-existent homesites now in farm fields, using Google Earth, Historic Mapworks, Historic Aerials (and MHAPO.COM for Minnesota aerials), Ancestry, and Minnesota Newspaper Hub archive for research.  I have been amazed at how much Civil War period stuff I've found here in Minnesota.  Got involved in water detecting for the first time last summer and did surprisingly well for a newbie at it.
