  1. Hello, Wow, what great finds! I'm assuming you like the Manticore at the beach. I plan on going hunting in the water this Friday and your pictures give me encouragement as to what lies lurking underneath the sand. I've been pounding vacant lots lately and like the way the Manticore finds silver coins and Wheaties. However, I can't wait to take it to the beach to see how it reacts to salt water, waves, and it's first submersion. I'm used to using my Excal II but from what I've been reading, I just may find more gold chains with the M-core. This will be a huge improvement. I bought a pair of Gray Ghost headphones and this will be a first at the beach too. Happy hunting...
  2. Hello, Good silver find. Don't you just love pulling Mercs out of the ground? In my opinion, they are the most beautiful dime ever produced in the United States. Like you, I have the Manticore too. This machine finds silver very well. It finds Wheaties like I have never seen before and I've pulled them out of the ground at over 8.5" deep. Other machines must have missed them because of how deep they were. Happy hunting...
  3. Hello, Not sure when it will make it the the U.S. but I have heard rumors about a release date of 1st Quarter, 2023. If that is true, then we can expect in anytime because this 1st Quarter is almost over. I send my Minelab dealer a text weekly checking on the status of the coil. Plus I ordered another lower shaft for ease of changing from one coil to another. I search for Manticore small coil on YouTube too. When I see a video, then I know it's out 🙂 Happy hunting.....
  4. Hello, I've had the Manticore for about six weeks now and with many hours on it. I run mine here in Pensacola at about the 22-24 sensitivity range in the High Conductor program. If I go higher, I seem to get more iron falsing. This Manticore has a learning curve even when coming from the Nox 800. I have found over 150 Wheaties so far, about a dozen silvers coins, some really cool vintage items and even some civil war bullets. I am salivating for the small coil to come out. The ground around here is extremely trashy and I know the smaller coil will help separate much better. Happy hunting!
  5. Hello, I'm John and very excited to be a part of this detecting forum. I'm an avid detectorist and detect a lot in in the lovely panhandle of Pensacola. I use several Minelab detectors and my newest addition is the Manticore. I'm looking forward to reading what many of you have to say as learning is an adventure in itself. I am also looking forward to adding content for others to read. Thanks, John
