  1. Well, I got lucky, a local guy was selling a like new Minelab Pro 45 harness at a great price, so I am good to go.
  2. Thanks guys, I will check them out
  3. I am using a GPX 4500and at 67 years old, I don't swing like I use to, so I need all the help that I can get. I will mainly be hunt civil war relics in NW Arkansas, with a couple of nugget hunting trips to Colorado mountains, West of Pueblo I am looking at detector harnesses, and hydration backpacks, that have the D ring. I have the small lithium batteries, so 3 hours is plenty enough time to wear my old Jarhead a$$ out. Just wondering what you folks here on the forum are using harness or hydration backpack
  4. John, thanks for the info, I will definitely give it a read. I am hoping to get more detecting time in, now that the weather is changing. I look forward to reading about your adventures
  5. Daniel, thanks for the tip. I know you have found a lot of Civil War relics in the past, so I will definitely put that on my list. I have a birthday coming up in April, so I will start dropping hints
  6. Rick, I am going to start with the 12" X 8" platypus DD coil until I get use to the 4500, then switch to the 11" mono coil to see what I find. When it comes to Minelabs, I have used the SD2000, SD2100, SD2200, and GP3500, but those were used to hunt gold nuggets in Arizona. I have been playing with the GPX 4500, with the 11" mono coil and I am really impressed. I think the biggest coil that I am going to use is the 15" X 12" mono.
  7. The soil on this property is pretty mild, and very little modern debris. The Deus 1, is doing pretty good. I am going to go over a section with the Deus 11" X35 coil, then go over the same area with the 4500 and 11" DD coil. Next week is going to be in 60's and 70's, so perfect weather for detecting. I think I am going to get a metal detector harness so I won't wear out my arm. One thing for sure, the older I get, the better I was. At 66 years old, I don't swing like I use to.
  8. I have permission to hunt a property that is a couple miles away from Pea Ridge Battlefield. I have been finding some keepers with my Deus 1, with the 9 " and 11" X35 coils. I recently picked up a GPX 4500 in great shape, with a 12x8 platypus DD coil, 2 11" mono coils, a 11"DD, a 15"x12" mono, and a 18" mono. I going to see what I can find. I have used the SD2000 up to the GP Extreme, but not the GPX 4500. My question to the members is, how good is the iron reject, can it knock out iron the size of 16d rusty nails.
  9. I received permission to hunt an area that is located a couple miles from the Pea Ridge National Battleground Park I have only hunted a small portion of the property, and found some interesting items. This property has been undisturbed for the past 150 years of, so very little modern debris. Hopefully some members on the forum can help ID some of the items
  10. Looking for a small coil for GPX 4500 Something like a 10x5, or 8" or smaller Would prefer a DD, but will consider Mono
  11. I am in NW Arkansas, and I have had my M8 coil for about a week, I really like it so far. I am using it in tight areas and around the roots. I find it very stable and deep.
  12. I have a like new pair of WS5 headphones, that I want to trade for a pair of WS4 headphones I am located in Bentonville AR
  13. Just received an email from Minelab Services Department, saying I have the most current software version, so I am good to go
  14. My Manticore has software version 6.20.0+73 Does anyone know what is the current software version
  15. Thanks guys, I appreciate the info, next week we are going to be sunny and in the 60's, so I will be able to go out and play. Funny, even at 66 years old, it's still fun to hunt for treasure. When I lived in Arizona, I spent a lot of years hunting for gold, coins and relics, in the Bradshaw Mountains and Superstition Mountains. I never found a large treasure, but I always found something worth keeping, and just being outdoors was worth the time invested
  16. Hi Guys, I just bought a NIB Manticore here locally and thought I would ask the folks that have been using it awhile, for any tips. I might have made a mistake, I was looking online and found a good deal on an M8 coil, so I bought it, and it arrived this afternoon. After doing a lot of research on Manticore coils, it seems everyone recommends the M15 coil. Time will tell, next week we are going to be sunny and 60 degrees, so I am going to turn the Manticore loose. I have been detecting 25 years, and have used the Nox 900 and the D2, I currently own a Deus 1, with 9" and 11" coils, and the Manticore with 8" and 11" coils. Dang this hobby is addicting
  17. I bought the Detech 7" Ultimate from them. Fast shipping and coil was carefully packed to protect it during shipping
  18. Hi Folks I have a hot V3i, I would like to get the Bigfoot coil for it, but those are currently unaffordable, so I am looking at the 18x4 arrow. Years ago, I had a Bigfoot coil for my DFX, and XLT. One of my favorite combos was a White's classic IDX, with Mr Bill's modes, running the Bigfoot coil. Anyone using the 18" X 4" arrow on the V3i, if so, what do you think What kinda depth are you seeing How is the target separation Thanks and HH
  19. Thanks for the info Gold Dozer, they have a 12 X 10 Ultimate coil, that I was thinking about getting for my V3i. They are the only places that has them. I bought a 7" Ultimate for my V3i, but it takes about 3 weeks to get here from across the pond.
  20. Correction, I have sent emails to NEL coils for assistance, instead of Nokta Makro.
  21. Sorry for the black background in the print, I am working on my copy and paste skills.
  22. Hi Folks, I got a NEL Hunter coil that I received in a package deal, and I am trying to find out what detector it goes on. The coil was supposed to be for a Makro Multi Kruzer, but the pin holes don't match the connection. The pin holes match the Racer 2, but nothing happens when I turn the Racer 2 on. I have sent emails and pictures to Nokta Makro, but have not received a response Any help will be appreciated, I am attaching pictures, any help would be appreciated
