Nice idea but I certainly don't like his nut and bolt choice.
I get that a lot. But your arm in that position won't rub there at all. I tell those buyers if your arm even come clost to that bolt head to send it back. Over 1400 sold without one return.

Hi all!
Yep, I COULD make something like this, but the gentleman who used to make them is still around; he goes by the screen name "khouse" on Dankowski's forum. I saw a recent post from him, where he mentioned possibly starting to make them again, so I will of course refrain, and respect his "intellectual property."Perhaps I can chat with him, and see what his intent is...
Meanwhile, it has been on the drawing board to begin producing a carbon-fiber upper "S-shaft" for Garrett machines for awhile now, though there are some logistics -- that involve a sizeable up-front investment -- that have prevented me from doing so thus far. That's why I am only doing the lower two shaft sections for the Garrett machines, for now. However, if/when I do begin offering the upper shaft as well, I will certainly be extending the length of it (and would then offer the counterweight system that I've used with the Equinox shafts, as well...)
SteveI'm making them again since there has been renewed interest. See my other post....... I sold a lot of them when the Ace Series was king. Then sales died off through better, lighter and cheaper competition. Now it seems the APEX has the same issues.....

Steve, That is me.. LOL. I've sold over 1400 of them but the last few years sales dropped from like 20 a month to 12 a year. I don't make any money unless I make 25 at a time. However I have had a lot of interest in the GIZMO recently. So I will be placing 25 on ebay in a day or so. Or just contact me directly mowerdog@gmail.com

Nokta knows that when you put the customer first profits will follow. I have never seen a company so eager to improve a product using feedback from customers.

I can't use it in the creeks without a small coil. I wish they would hurry up on that..................

I'm not scared to say what you were thinking! LOL...

She's easy on the eyes too. Just saying.......

When I was a Whites dealer I felt they had 2 solid performers. I pushed the M6 and MXT/MXTpro. No need to carry every machine they had. 15 to 20 years later they are still the best they have in my opinion. Kind of sad actually.....
-
I for one feel that selling a detector through big box stores cheapens the effect of a nice machine. Just a stigma in my mind........Lol..... BTW - White's last chance was the MXsport. We were all waiting for the lightweight, multi frequency waterproof machine. Big let down at least for me. I went through three of them with Whites then telling me I didn't know how to use it..... I'm not a Whites dealer anymore..

Sold my ATpro in March to get this machine. Hurry up please....
-
I sold my ATpro in March hoping the Simplex would be released by now. I really just need something that beeps and is waterproof. It looks like this machine will do tons more that the ATpro at a throw around price point. I hope it comes out soon. I already missed one water hunt for a lost ring...

About $220 melt price if I was to melt it.... About 8 years ago I sold a lot of silver rings and broken gold jewelry. Now I wish I had it back to help fill a future display. So from then on I don't sell anything. Well I spend a lot of the clad though... There's an inscription inside the ring and I'm still looking for the owner.

I was out there for a while but like you said I was taking a chance on the headphones. So I came up to the shallow areas.
-
I personally don't think I need a magnet. Not all recoveries were shallow. Not all recoveries were added to the video. I can tell you the 800 is deep.

Thanks Steve! I was trying to Treasure Hunt and the dang Women got in the way!

Nice job guys, the Etrac and Equinox just blew the CZ70 out of the water!
BTW double check the mint mark on that quarter, if it's from San Francisco, it's a big dollar coin
The Quarter had no mint mark.

You can watch the whole video or skip to the 8 minute mark for the comparison.

It seems from the photo that he's running multi freq....... If so that's impressive on those smallest pieces!

Excellent video, khouse. Really, really good.
Main problem I see with that, in reality (out on a hunt in a trashy iron site) though, is -- how do you know how high to set the disc? Sure, setting the iron reject at 32 worked in that "controlled" experiment, with non-rusty, non-bent, same-sized nails. But in real-world scenario, in dense iron, that 32 iron reject would leave me digging TONS of nails, I am guessing. (And I'm "guessing," because I run an SE Pro, not an E-Trac, so I am not sure exactly how the FE numbers on nails translate over to an Explorer...I usually run my Explorer at Iron Mask 22, but I am guessing that 32 on the E-Trac would be something more like 26 or 28 on the SE Pro...
Steve
True. But once you dig a handful of nails you would use those to adjust your discrimination to you particular site. I do indeed dig a lot of nails even setting it at 28. But I don't dig as many as 32 depending on the site. Basically all you're doing is discriminating out the nails on your site.

This video I made might help if you take the etrac back out to your nail bed? I use this as my last resort - last pass to squeak out a tiny bit more targets. But in your case this set up just might hit the ring?
-
I think the game changer here is the price. When I first saw it and read the specs and saw a video or two I figured the price was going to be at least $1500. This machine is in the same ball park as the Atmax and MXsport. I was ready to sell my Atpro to get a Max. But that just changed. If the EQ gives me solid ID's at depth then the etrac will be gone too. Were we not wanting the new Atmax and MXsport to have selectable frequencies? I was and it didn't happen. Now we have a company that did it for a reasonable price.... It's got to be a winner!

LOL. There was quite a story just on my end with all that drama! My wife already wears 2 rings I found. Plus this one was too big for her! LOL
