Can't see why not. The chargers full capacity is 2 amps. The load / battery and charging circuit determines the charging rate and is regulated. The charger cannot force more current than what the load determines.

I like the fact that I can switch my detector off when it gets annoying!

Been down there a few times to scope out the area. I love the people and the laws or lack of! Made a few friends and can't wait to retire there. Ate at Pals it's great! Prob not what the Dr. ordered though. But he's not eatin it!

The only thing I can say on this subject.  Minelab has indeed got into many folks detecting psyche.  There are still many targets lurking that other detector models can and will find.  I have sold no detectors because of Equinox.  I did sell one, but only because I wasn't using detector and it was too heavy for me to enjoy.  I have already paid for Equinox, and will use when I receive.

"The Consequence of Equinox". A term to be used to describe how something new devalues and virtually obsoletes anything that does not have the latest technology and performance.  What I am seeing is an ALMOST  complete halt to metal detector sales in the 650.00 on up range. Used machines even high end detectors have dropped in value and sit on forums and for sale sights with hardly any interest. The testers that have had their hands on the Equinox and dumped their machines were lucky, they had the "insider trading" advantage. Minelab makes fantastic machines and whomever does their marketing is an absolute genius. Not only have they come up with a new and supposedly show stopper machine, they have dealt a crushing blow to other manufactures that have machines with less features in that price range and above. How about a Deus for 1500.00 with less features? A V3i heavy and not waterproof? A CTX heavy and more than twice the cost. An MX Sport single frequency at the same price.  AT Pro, nah single frequency. I know that I would have loved to have sold off a a couple machines and not took a beating. But hey the old machines are like junk in the closet now to be taken out for nostalgic reasons. Hey remember the radio shack machine you found that 1/4-20 washer with? I can't sell that! LOL. Well folks hopefully we are into a new era of latest and greatest. I really don't know how many detectorists are out there that will spend the money to support companies that can afford to have the brain trust to develop cutting edge technology. Well that's my rant and my personal opinion on this. Now to check on my E800 order. I still have a fondness for my deus though and will keep the batteries charged. Dig we must! 

Well I just spent 1500.00 on a Deus WS5 and another 400.00 on a high frequency coil in June . So why not piss away another 800.00. I mean you can't take it with you anyway. And it gives my wife more to Bi*ch at me about.

So I would think in this instance the Equinox would favor other metals over iron in some modes.

If you knew the amp draw of the machine divide by 12 for approx mah. And why worry about all these back up batteries. It's not like we all go detecting more that 10 hrs a day and can charge at night. Getting crazy here! You could always put a car battery in a wagon and pull it around behind you. With a cooler in it of course. How about a solar panel hat?

So far the Equinox is fabulous at removing coins from your pocket, even finds paper and plastic! I've been detecting my wife's knee and back hardware in the meantime. Too cold in NJ to go outside.

What I'm thinking is that everyone is going to expect the same results as Steve and be disappointed. Steve proves the machine is capable but his lifetime of experience gives him a clear advantage in its use. Hell Steve could pull more coins out of the ground with a stick with a magnet duct taped to the end than I can with my V3i which is for sale at a bargain. Anyway I'm getting one anyway for the fact that it is lighter. If it works as well as my Deus I will be very pleased. Thanks Steve for the Target envy! I'm thinking Minelab trusts Steve as he is impartial in his assessments of machines. I wouldn't think they would send one to someone that favored one brand over another for personal preferences. Like my uncle buying Buick's his whole like because he likes the brand name.

Well that ends the question "is the software upgradeable" Brochure says yes via usb win and osx! Hope the bios chip can be flashed also for bugs. Probably all in one upgrade. I'm back on the pre order list now! Maybe goodbye Deus/ V3i. Only one thing. Single frequencies have their place. So isn't gonna obsolete them in that respect. And the Deus has much higher frequencies if you want to run them. Still for the price it is a bargain for what you get.

I have an Outlaw and it's a nice machine. Also have a Deus V4, and a V3i. V3i's too heavy for my arm now. The Deus is nice and I'm learning it. The Outlaw is less stressful and faster to adjust on the fly using my thumb on the disc knob. All get the same depth with comparable coils. They all have their place. I'm waiting for the Equinox shakedown before ordering one. Not doing the send back for firmware updates like I had to do with the MX Sport. Happy with my stable now Tesoro's a good machine for it's purpose.

If you purchased a White's metal detector and earned accessory code bucks they are no longer valid. I was given 50.00 bucks after a purchase of a MX Sport only to find out that the special is time limited. Oh well, Next time I'll read the fine print and redeem any specials immediately whether or not I need anything at the moment.

Update I called White's and explained to them I didn't need anything at the moment and they took care of me. Great company for machines and customer service.
