Some great finds.......almost as warm down here.....only 45 degrees
........Celsius.....🥵

Great video and very impressive detector and interface........I would love to see some basic tests on the last two "bigger gold" modes on some bigger targets ( maybe 5+ gram nuggets)......thanks for posting.

Was this problem with the standard issue M11 coil?
Thanks.
I tested with a US Quarter and thankfully, I get a solid 88/89 with both M11 and M15 coils across all of the search modes.

Did they indicate which coils were used to develope the chart?
No....but those making this official chart shouldn't be on LSD at the same time.

I got quite excited about this detector...but then I saw Nenad's post and echoes of QED started to appear
I feel the same after Nenad's honest appraisal.......I don't think Minelab will be losing sleep over this.
With that being said, there is an awful lot to like with this detector and it will be a very good match for a lot of people.
For me personally, I just can't see myself using a machine biased towards small gold (at the expense of potentially bigger stuff)......I know of a few prospecting friends still consistently finding (deep) ounce+ pieces here in WA.
Looks like no "AlgaeSauce" for me 😐

When a company does the right thing, only when their hand is forced, isn't all that appealing to alot of people.
Agree completely....but that feeling can be soon forgotten if Minelab "knock something out of the park" in price and product.
Anyhow, I'm probably getting a bit ahead of the game here and will try and steer the subject back on track.
Why "Algoforce"........in name, it's already some Crypto monitoring website ???

If they rush their SDC V3
I was thinking more along the lines of the "SD" series.......with a bit of advertising excitement......."The legend has returned"
"Big gold, small gold".........plenty of nostalgia. Minelab could easily challenge the AlgoForce price point if so desired.

We will have to see how the AlgoForce fares in the real world.......if Minelab were smart then they would have prepared for this event and maybe, just maybe have something actually ready to go. With all the easy gold mostly gone, a lot of people just aren't prepared to dump $10,000 on the "latest and greatest"........I wonder if Minelab sensed this mood?
As you say, Minelab probably didn't see this coming but they may have had contingencies in place for it?
Anyhow, just for fun.............I think Minelab will fight back with "something" under $3000 Aussie dollars.

In the specs....."Average power consumption is 700mA".....this is in the same league as Minelab's range of SD/GP/GPX machines. I know current is not everything when it comes to raw detecting power but it's an interesting factor.

Watch Minelab fight back......I could imagine them rolling out an "SD2200 V3" in a lightweight digital design and at an attractive price point. Minelab will defend all price points if their hand is forced.

I have made a rough video and I'll upload it soon.
Essentially:
Sensitivity at 10 shows consistent Non ferrous numbers in the 90's but no trace.
Sensitivity at 13 shows mainly Non ferrous numbers in the 90's and the occasional red numbers in the 50's BUT a nice round trace appears smack on the line at the far right. Red numbers minimised once the coil is centred over the target.
I think the target audio is reasonably satisfying.
PS.....At the beginning of the video, I mention no 2D trace at 13....sorry this is incorrect.
Towards the end of the video, if you pause the video then you can see the 2D trace on the line at the far right.
I know I live downunder but the video is upside down and I'm no Youtube guru to try and fix it.

Tony,
Did you get a nonferrous response (ID number or trace) when you turned down the sensitivity to 10? In other words would you be essentially digging everything? Thanks!
I was getting a non ferrous response on the ring at around 13 Sensitivity......numbers were a bit jumpy when swinging over the ring. So based on this, definitely not digging everything. I'll try the test again because I can't recall the trace position. Give me an hour or so and I'll get back to you.

I think Simon needs a few more don't we all LOL
I'm actually down to just 4 detectors....my wife said that I can have "four detectors and one wife" or "five detectors and no wife"........when she reached for the heavy cast iron fry-pan, it was then that I realised the mistake that I had made 😬

I'm a brand new detectorist.
Planning to start in my large garden in a small village which has been occupied for at least a thousand years.
Wish me luck.
Good luck......the original owner was probably swinging an old Bounty Hunter 🤪

I was surprised to find how pricey it is to get started but I remain intrigued.
Worth every cent.......just remember a single high end golf club can cost the same as one metal detector.....and you need 14 golf clubs. The only exception is Simon (Phrunt).......with 14 detectors 🤫

I wonder if the Manticore battery is the same as the Equinox ??
I'm not sure if the OP wants a simple replacement battery or something with a bigger mAh capacity ?
-
Fairly sure that the factory battery can only be a certain size/shape so as to fit in the hand grip battery compartment.
If not getting wet then you can hook up a power bank battery.....these look very good.

.....and if you want to go crazy big capacity
https://www.nitecorestore.com/Nitecore-NPB4-Waterproof-Power-Bank-p/bat-nite-npb4.htm
Get some 3M velcro and mount under the arm cuff.

Twenty inches is impressive on a air test
Hello Joe,
It is very impressive but I'm sure it won't translate into that depth on the beach........I'd love to get 18" (my test gold ring) in buried damp/wet beach sand. At this stage, it is my main beach detector but any true water work will still likely be the Excalibur and old Sea Hunter.

In you text you said the ring was 8" but on the video I thought I heard you say 6"
Sorry.......6" of material and the coil about 2" above the surface. Also kept he Sensitivity very conservative at 13......15 hits it hard but with some more ground noise.
It was pleasing that along with a workable threshold, there were no screen falsing (2D traces or ID numbers)
