The challenge with a statement like this, is that the same could be said two years ago when, one year ago, six months ago, etc.

It's a great teaser statement, but beyond that......ehhh...... I can't say more than that 🙂

Guys,  give Rick a break. He is the only person who gives us information . The one to blame is Fisher!! Just write or call Fisher and complain or boycott them and don't buy their ffffff.........new detector if it ever comes on the market.

Okay....results are in.....and it was an ugly experience for sure.

No matter what setting I tried, even with low gain and increased pulse delay, the old girl screamed her head off. The ground was quite mineralised so in benign soil then things might be okay but in traditionally mineralised goldfields then it is a futile exercise. The GB didn’t stand a chance and I think I scared off most of the wildlife In the area......time for a cold beer to steady my nerves.

Now in parts of the USA, a lot of gold bearing ground is in much, much milder soils so that might work out. Do your homework before venturing to new ground......if it’s anything but benign ground.......don’t take the TDIBH 👎

Thanks very much Tony for testing the unit, you saved me money and I will not by the TDIBH. ( Buyer Beware )

Me, I would hold till June, the "AQ" should be out by then (I would hope). I to was thinking TDI BH but at this point I really need something that is a step above what's out there now. Too me I see short comings in both the TDI BH and the "AQ" but also see several things that stand out on the "AQ" that I think will make it the better choice....Good Luck on your decision...☠️

Let's hope that the "AQ" will be out in June 2020 want to get one to, but up till now it's all dead, not even a whimper.  Looks more like it will come out in June 2021! Very disappointed  in Fisher.

    HI guys!

It feels very good that this nice forum is at high speed with all discussions about the AQ with all different subjects about the AQ.We are now in the middle of january and still nothing from the Fisher. No reports from any tester, no videos, no manual, nada...it feels kind of depressing without knowing any informations at all.I know that LE.JAG and Alexander can't say anything about these informations even though the know for sure.Is there any thought or any guesses about these questions?

I find it very depressing to, checking into detectorprospector every couple of days to see if there is new information,  but like you said NADA.

Fisher please shape up, and show us if you are still alive !

I don’t believe any one detector makes magical differences in my detecting. When I want to go detecting I use what I have. Waiting around for new models is a waste of time. You have an ATX and despite all the hype the fact is the difference between it and a BHID or an Impulse is not going to drastically change your life. Good locations and hours makes finds. So my advice is use what you have until something comes along you want bad enough to buy it. Which is exactly what you are going to do.

The bottom line is if you want an Impulse AQ you are going to have to wait whether you like it or not. Fisher could decide to cancel the whole thing tomorrow since they have been careful to not say a single thing officially. And if it does arrive it will just be another metal detector, and life will go on. Two years from now the next magic wand will come along and we will do this all over.

Go detecting, live life, don’t get played by marketers. Life is too short.

Very wise words Steve and people should listen, time is passing  to fast enjoy the now tomorrow is another day! Recently my wife died, was with her for 37 years and time just flashed  by and when you look back it seams only a few years! My motto at this moment is " Live your life in the now, and don't think of the future "

Oh my GOD!!! what a depth!!! INSANE.  20 gram ring!!!!! you got to be kidding. That was awsome. My deepest targets vwith the Nox is around a 12inches and with my ATX aound 15.I think you recovered those targets between a range of 18 and 20 maybe deeper.Greate jobb LE.JAG with the video and please share more videos if you have any more!!!!!!!!! I WANT AN AQ!!!!!!!

Keep on dreaming  we still have to wait a long time it seams, there is only one production model sold, and we all know who owns it.

If it does then there will be no one happier than me.......wish the Aussie dollar was stronger against the US dollar 💵

If you need any Aussie testers then just let me know.....assuming I’m still alive after granny reads this thread 😳aa

    Tony

Poor Granny I am feeling sorry for her! But as you know the old always keep the money under their mattress, check it out maybe their is your treasure for buying your AQ Manta!!

I find it even more amazing there is no official announcement from First Texas. Dealers sometimes jump the gun trying to round up preorders that may not be delivered on for a very long time. If the detector is in production an official announcement with final specifications would be in order very soon. Maybe after this holiday weekend? It would be a nice present for me!  I wonder if we are looking at one model or two?

Thank you once again LE.JAG for giving us a little hope for the new year.

Price also depends on that being MSRP or final discounted price in the U.S. plus who knows what kind of import taxes they have in France.  Over $2K but that’s been expected all along.

Fisher Impulse AQ Specifications & Data

Also in France they have a 20% sales tax, and for us this is again 20% less to pay, just make sure you buy it out of state

Geez I'm doing well, I've got 2 out of 3 of the shortlist.  Almost 3 out of 3 as I've got the GPX 4500 instead of the 5000.  Now I've just got to get better at finding gold in the first place, I can't blame my tools

Thanks for taking the time to do this list Steve and keep it up to date, I found it extremely valuable when first taking up the hobby and I'm sure many others do too.

I own 3 out of 5 the Gold Bug Pro, Gold Monster and the Makro Gold Kruzer.

    From the linked article:

The chosen location for Detectival 2019 will be near to the Historic Medieval Market towns of Burford & Charlbury in Oxfordshire on the edge of the Beautiful Cotswolds. We have almost 1000 acres to search, 600 of which is brand new undetected land. The site is near to the historic Cotswolds villages of Langley, Fulbrook, Milton Under Wychwood, Ascott under wychwood, Leafield & Shipton Under Wychwood.

That's in England, west of London and south of Birmingham.

Yes that's the little Island in the north Atlantic, where they have the" Brexit" problem and they can't make up their minds, if they want to stay with mother Europe or not!

I could not understand what he was saying about the AQ. Was there anything new there that I am missing?

This is a fun machine to follow. The only new machine I have seen in a while that looks quite this interesting. Of course as said before, it really comes down to how the iron mask actually works. Or does not work. It would be fun to know what the Iron Mask knob actually controls.

One thing I wonder about is why there is no control for pulse width. They seem to have gone so far in the direction of making a manual machine that a reasonably knowledgeable PI person could set to hunt darn near any way they want, yet left off this one thing. A thing that the brains involved in this creation would certainly have known how to add a knob for, but did not.

I hate talking about new detectors. Next thing you know there will be an involuntary wallet reaction with accidental credit card slippage.

We have to learn to speak Russian now, it's the new International language, English is finished. They even overtake our country and our detector Vid's on U-Tube!

  12. Check out " detect man " on UTube he is a French man testing out the Equinox Nox 800 and  the Gold Monster for nugget hunting in the African jungle, and see how many gold nuggets he finds with the NOx and 11 inch coil!

Detect man has many vids on his UTube channel, look for the one of his African gold expedition.
