  1. Something else, .... in this 7-Bar Fe3o4 Black Sand test my optimum setting Equinox 800   on programs Park1 and Park2...  was .. :

1."Discrimination"  from +1 to +40 ..-you get a great and exact ID.=reading "11-12"ID -for  small gold  pendant its - perfect..

If you only discriminate on accepting from +0 to +40-you get too much reading or "0 ID "or "+1 ID"- for small gold pendant   to mean non-accurate read ID ..

    2. "Correctly set the Recovery speed 7-or 8".-very important setting .. -to make miracles
At lower settings ..Recovery Speed 1-6 ... you will not get almost any number ID even at the highest sensitivity -...25 .. even if you still get the correct audio signal ..
On optimal recovery speed 7-8 ..
you get right number 11-12 ID and good signal..from sensitivity 15.... and it works well on sensitivity up to 25-max ..

3 ."Sensitivity ".. good signal and correct ID I got at the sensitivity of 15 I tried it on both 11 "as well as small 6" coil.
What is more interesting ... Equinox correctly detected 1.2gram gold pendant up to a maximum sensitivity of 24-25 in this test.

This is a difference from other detectors where you have to reduce the "Gain" or "Sensitivity" setting so that you can properly detect the 7-Bar Fe3o4 mineralization.

    4. "I tested 11 "and 6" Equinox coil" - ..and found the correct Equinox detector correctly and the same for 11 "standard and small 6" coil.

5.. Another observation ... it is definitely good to change ground balance - again in such a rough terrain when changing the Recovery speed.

  2. Simon ....one of the gold benefits of the one-tonne-mode is if you have enough open discrimination still a nice ton though you are getting minus-vdi. Can it be mineralization .... Have you tried other 2 ton mode like Park2? .If the program isn't as deep as the Gold modes.

It's a bit out of the way, but it has a definite ... well with gold prospectus ..
Today I am at 7 bar Fe3O4 -extremne mineralization for Black-sand tests.
-tested several detectors and coils between the other and Equinox ...

Tested item "N.4 " was 1.2grams gold pendant about 12cm deep in Black sand.

When testing equinox, I noticed a non-ferrous audio signal - which was sometimes a bit worn out ... but Vdi is almost still in the minus VDI numbers -2, -3, sometimes at 1a just occasionally jumping to the right 11-12 ID ..

So I tried all the programs and the best work here was Gold Programs .. enough better audio and more correctly VDI 11-13 ... but it was still not 100% OK ..

So I changed the 11 "standard coil on a small 6" coil. The signal detection work was further improved, but Vdi on a small coil was still very often on minus VDI ...

    So I tried to change my discrimination that I use / accept -3 to + 40 / to +1 to +40.
After such a change in discrimination, Equinox detection has improved dramatically and I have been practically + VDI .. very often with the correct VDI 11-12.

At the end I put on the Equinox standard 11 "coil and tried to test Equinox again on the new discrimination settings. The new discrimination setting worked great ... even on the 11" standard coil.

Lessons learned from the test - in too harsh conditions, it may be too open to discriminating and allmetal has a great impact on working and displaying the correct VDI on Equinox.

  3. Metal Detection in Poland has been severely limited for the past 2-3 years .., Because it does not define exactly what is historically valuable from a common find ....- so practically you should not dig anything out of the earth ..- even when excavating common objects ....

Even though there are exceptions to detectors who have special field detection permits that are not marked as archaeological sites ...

So ..for the ordinary detectorist  there is only a place to detect it is Beach ...

  4. I wouldn't say "multitechnology" detector metal has already reached its limits - on the contrary, now this technology just begins to "reasonably" enforce and do not mean only "multi-frequency" ...
Let's "surprise" by what's going on in the coming years.

Coils also see a place for further development ...
Sometimes the coils are supplied by the detector manufacturer - truly optimally matched to the detector ...
in other cases, the detector manufacturer has consciously or unconsciously not used all the possibilities of a given metal detector -
and the team has created space for other coil makers - with its "Aftermarket" coil perfectly tuned for sensitivity, separation and deeper detection depth.

..I am using enough number of aftermarket coils.

The coil technology itself still has its reserves.

  5. I use a mixture of 25 kg of silica sand for 1 kg of pure Laboratory Magnetite so it is approximately mineralization is 4% Fe3O4 ... the measurements show on 7bar Fe3O4 -Teknetics G2-11DD coil.
This is also the limit for many Vlf detectors, but you need to radically change the settings on them and use some tricks/in overload/ to ground the Balance...

LE.JAG .. Your extremely mineralized soil at 12% and 16% Fe3O4 .. will be a big challenge for many Top detectors ... So I'm looking forward to your tests with the new Fisher Pulse detector...

  6. Certainly some positive improvements can be found:

1.Adjustable modulation of audio -... Adjustable audio gain.
The advantages of this setting are just a few.
2.autotracking with positive setting +3, to + 7 offset numbers Ground balance ..
    3. Change user program using the button on the front panel.
4 . Pinpoint  mode with depth indicator in centimeters-inch ..
5.Allmetal mode - also in Park, Field, and Beach ...program modes.

  7. Highly set recovery speed also has two features:

    1. "Deep" - for example, in clean terrain when setting high recovery speed 6-7-8 you get deeper signals with faster spool sweeping ... with slow coil sweeping ..you reduce effective detection depth

    2. "Separation" - A high recovery setting of 6-7-8 .. allows excellent separation with normal or slow sweeping coil.
At lower recovery speed settings you can never get so good separation by normal coil sweeping .. but sometimes you can still separate well at very slow or extremely slow sweep coil of detector...

..On the other hand, the disproportionately high recovery speed 7-8 has a rather low sensitivity, but the reach of very tiny objects of chain, jewelry or nuggets  .. On objects - the size of the coin still responds very well ..- even though it is lower range ...

  8. I think Equinox  advantage is that it allows you to use  many power   from several "Effective" frequencies that are needed for a given detection purpose  ...
    My  FFT-measurements:

     Tx Beach 1:

     Tx Park2 :

    DS1Z_QuickPrint121.jpg

     Tx Gold 1:

    DS1Z_QuickPrint134.jpg

..Of course substantial work its also happens on the side of the Rx-received signal ... and its subsequent calculation -... where we can also include the use of a given level of Recovery speed ...

  9. The knowledge of how the "Recovery Speed" function works with Equinox .. I have gained the practice of using detection ... but also 2D and 3D separation tests and detector depth tests: Whites Spectra V3 and Rutus Argo v3: Separate Ground Filter Settings and Personal Recovery Rates.
Also put an effective sweeping speed of the coil .. into the equation and Size of coils..

However, these detector settings require some practice and knowledge, so detector manufacturers have combined these two functions -1. Ground filter.... and 2. Ground Filter Recovery rate -.. to the more simple In the "Single Recovery Speed Setting " .....for  detectors  XP Deus, ...Rutus Alter71, ...Whites MX Sport, and ...Minelab Equinox..

Even though I would not be hampered by the manufacturer's ability to use a combination of high ground filter.... and low-medium  refresh rate....   in Equinox, for example, as a than  new" 6+," "7+", "8 +" recovery speed  setting  that could have a better reach and ID.. for heavy mineralized terain...

  10. The "Recovery speed" feature of the Equinox detector consists of 2 parts (Ground filter + a certain filter refresh rate): this is determined by a predefined Ground Filter associated with a certain - Optimal Recovery Rate of the used Ground Filter - for a given "Recovery speed" "..

The ground filter of its used grade is responsible for the depth, but also for the mineralization work - while the higher ground filter stage filters out more ground mineralization.
The High Ground Filter is shallower, but it also feels less sensitive to side signals from the iron.
+ allows a faster response from the Ferous to Nonferous ..-
This, combined with the + high-speed recovery of the given Ground Filter, allows excellent separation in both the iron and the 11 "large coil.
.... It works as if the detector used a smaller coil....

Conversely (Low Ground Filter + Low Recovery Speed Groud Filter) = Low "Recovery Speed"Equinox ..setting ...allows you to reach a deeper depth - but at the cost of a lower detector speed but a weaker Separation ..

But the practical depth of such a low setting will also depend on the mineralization of the terrain.
therefore, the lowest setting may not be the deepest.

Therefore, use "Recovery speed" 4-5-6 in Equinox ... at the beginning of "Universal" on different types of terrain.

Later you have the option to set it to lower or increase the "Recovery Speed" settings according to your own experience of detection on that terrain...

  11. Perhaps the perception of shiny Gold is a lasting and high value - a wealth that also represents the seal of governance, status in society ... and power.

It is also interesting how many different civilizations appreciated gold as a standard of wealth .., or as a currency of the highest value...
