Well, what do you know. I got a surprise message from my dealer tonight, that he'll be shipping my Manticore tomorrow...
Now, at least, when I'm running my mouth too much on this forum, at least I'll actually be a Manticore OWNER, instead of someone pontificating about a machine I don't even own! 😉
SteveLol...Keep the pontificating coming Steve. Congrats on the soon to be ownership. I'm looking forward to reading your review.

Mine says it shipped from Prairie Du Chien, WI US. Never heard of it but currently says it's in Chattanooga, TN with a ETA of today around noon. But...I did order mine through Bass Pro Shops and not from Cabelas. Bass Pro owns Cabelas so I would think they use the same warehouses now but maybe not.
I gotcha, gotta admit, these guys don't waste much time processing orders.

Holy cow I got a tracking number through Cabelas/Bass Pro. FedEx says delivery of today the 12th. I don't see how...I just ordered it the 11th. But I'll take it if it comes.
It's coming from a warehouse in IA,via Fedex Express, I got mine in 2 days and I'm in Texas.

Interesting, strick. Thanks.
Yes, I'd be curious to know the wall thickness...OR, if not a direct measurement of the wall, the O.D. measurement minus the I.D. measurement divided by 2 gives the wall thickness too, of course.
SteveSteve, the OD of the lower shaft on the 900 and Manticore is 17.5mm...the ID is 15.5mm, which seems like a strange size.

Thank you and congrats!!!!

Here are some side by side pics of the 900 and Manticore. I was under the impression the 900 and Manticore used the same housing and armrest. These are 2 different designs for both as you can see. The pod with grey is the 900, the shaft mount picture, the Manticore is the top pic. I starting looking closer after trying to install a clear cover template from the 900, not even close. the screen on the Manticore is recessed just like the CTX. I had to cut 2 separate pieces for the Manticore vs 1 for the 900 due to the recess.

I ordered 1-9 and got mine today via 2 day Fedex Express from Cabela's First time doing business them and I'm impressed with the customer service I got. I spent some time on the phone with several customer reps and they are really great folks to deal with. I ended up with a 10% discount and another $20 off to boot.
Now that the wait is over, it's time to spend some time navigating the menu and getting to now the machine for myself. Heading out Sunday for a test spin.

Right after I ordered mine, I went back to the Cabela's website. They were offering 10% discount with a $20 rewards bonus. So I signed up and got their card. My plan was to make sure that I could get one with the 10% discount and then I was going to send the other unit back and cancel the card :-) I tried to use my new Cabela's credit card to make the purchase, but I did not have the security code. Long story short, contacted Cabela's customer service and they offered to give me the 10% plus the $20 in the form of a refund to my debit card purchase. I am more than pleased to have bought mine through Cabela's.

I'm jealous. Not a peep from my dealer. I thought I got lucky on Cabelas today because it showed the Add to Cart option but then showed out of stock about the time I went to click it.
I hope Y’all have better luck with receiving packages than I have lately. I had two come in damaged this past week and I'm still waiting on a Deus 2 9" coil that was supposed to be delivered Friday the 6th. It has been in limbo in the USPS system and just says "is moving within the system". No updates since Thursday when it says it is later than expected.
I ordered from Cabela's this morning, just got a tracking number...Coming FedEx 2 day, ETA Wednesday. I cancelled my preorder with my dealer once I knew I had one.

Mine came in the second batch, just waiting for my dealer to ship it. He got zero on the first round, and only one on the second round, so their trickling in....more like slow drip 🐌
I e-mailed my dealer yesterday, he's heard nothing about any shipment coming to him. Here I sit at #1 and they won't send my guy 1 stinking machine 😞

A dealer posted on Facebook that they received 6 Manticores today. Hopefully this means more are hitting other dealers soon.

all setting are the same for both modes. Recovery was at 4
Ok, thanks for the info.

It caught me by surprise that the general mode is deeper about an inch compare to HC mode for high conductive coin. I mean the HC should be deeper than General even on air test?. Assuming its using much lower frequency weight in than the general mode right? I will test it today at relic site.. If general mode is still deeper than HC for high conductive target... I don't know maybe there is something wrong with my machine
What recovery speed is default in each mode? I was wondering if maybe that has something to do with it.

I figured since nothing Bluetooth I tried will connect to the 900, apparently the 700, 900 and Manticore all use the same audio technology.

Nice ring, yes there are stand outs. But if one wants to put odds in their favor and cover lots of ground there will be tradeoffs.
Thanks and I agree, especially if time is a factor and it usually always is.

I think you answered you own question. Dig everything 19 and below if you want to make tracks and cover lots of ground. In what? 4 years now the gold ring above 19 escapes me.......I have not even found one that rung-up that high.
This ring hit at 25 on the 800 at a fresh water lake...but it was massive lol .

That make sense. I've ordered several options just to see what connects and has good sound and will work on the Manticore. I also want something that is open-ear so I can hear my surroundings and also so a gallon of sweat doesn't pour from my ears in the summer.
I prefer wired earbuds so I can take one out and hear what's going on if needed. . Also, I like to wear a wide brimmed hat in the hot Texas sun.
