That process commenced yesterday for me 🤣
I am in negotiations as well. I might have to cough up the same amount for my other half to keep the peace...

BTW, no pics or videos? Wasn't it allowed?

Re: the DD coil. Apparently this DD design cannot be compared to our old understanding of GPX DD coils. No discrimination at all and separate settings for either EMI or Salt/mineralized ground. She emphasized there is no comparison to DD coils of old.
It sure sounds like that coil design and coil technology is intimately linked to the detector's performance. Hard to imagine that after market options for coils still will play any role or are intended. The 5000 might be last of it's kind with respect to coil options, and perhaps therefore still remaining in the ML fleet for those who care.

All I can say is that I can swing the Monster a lot longer than I can swing my SDC
Same for me. That being said, the SDC is like a body part of mine by now and I would never give it up!!

I think we heard enough to say that this will be another outstanding ML machine. The apparent easy of use, weight reduction and coil control options per push button (!!) makes this a value proposition. We shall see if the GEO-PI would challenge ZVT performance in situations where the GPZ really shines, but I don't think this is the intended point at all. Rather, a modern high performance detector with an interesting new Geo-PI technology that fits nicely in between SDC and GPZ. I can't wait to have one.

Yeah, all what it would take is someone stopping by and make a video clip of it! Would win the find of the month!

Debbie said she is there until 3 pm today, just in case anybody wants to stop by.

JP knows for sure, but he won't tell 😇

Slightly different in what way/ways?
I don't know, that's all I heard. But who knows if he got it right. So much speculation still. And why would they make two versions?

I think Jason was just being sarcastic.
He better be. Don't want to pay for two new detectors now 😬

Well said Steve, coming from one of the worlds experts. Your words weigh heavy and I agree 100%. But one thing they are for sure to blame: they made a lot of gold disapear from the grounds 😉

But that the 14 DD can be controlled via button push to do different things is stunning. It also tells me that this will likely not be compatible with any other aftermarket coil.
-
Apparently, the Middle East and Africa machine is also slightly different than the regular one. I find this hard to believe. We shall see.
-
A buddy of mine was there. Said it’s an absolutely amazing machine. Comes with 11 in Mono and 14 in DD. But Middle East package has 17 in, not 14. The 14 DD can be controlled with a button from the control box for different functions!! EMI cancelling, ground cancelling etc.

If it was a new GPZ 7500
No, just the 6000. There is no 7500. Just asked her.

Lol I don't think there is gold in Chicago, unless you go to the Cartier store. Debbie is the BD director for ML in North America. She travels all the time.
-
Just texted her. Yes it is Debbie from minelab.

Was is Debbie?

Damn, just been there 2 weeks ago

Or perhaps Rhyolite....

Beautiful granite boulders. Gold if present can be small/fine due to the crushing forces of the granite. At least that has been my experience in granite rich areas.

I clicked on it earlier but it was just general info and "coming soon". No order list.

I turned my GM into a short pinpointer exactly for that reason. Just starting out with my Zed though, so anything helps
That's cheating (just kidding 😉). I like the idea and others have done that too. I find it cumbersome though to drag the GM around with all the other stuff I already have.

Thanks Gold Catcher but I 'live' in manual ground balance & smoothing's off & have a good understanding of how to run my Zed at the top end of sensitivity that seems to work for me. We are all different as are our ground conditions & what we can or cant get away with.
Happy hunting.

Thanks. Perhaps a good topic for a separate thread, I think there were already several on this issue. Coming back to this topic, I am curious to know how the 6000 will behave in this regard 😁

I wish it would be that easy for me....
