  1. You will find the manual says........ if you use say a computer with a .5v output its going to take 13 hours to charge the battery fully.   It also says if it gets to hot it will shut down and may not charge fully.   I have one of those USB charger called an anker powerport 4.   Its 40w with an output of 2.4v...... but will charge faster.   It performs some tests on lith so its more likely to charge, fully charge, and not over heat.... both the battery and connections.

  2. I hear you on those sun glasses......... being at the beach as much as i am you just need eye protection...... ive adapted to look under them lol.   That screen looks great to me turned off.    Love those back lights.   Used to have a flashlight if i got out there before day light.......now you just have to turn it on to check the target.

  3. Its like all those detector depth tests....... ugh.   You can twist it anyway you want to.......but what ive found is in reality what  dont work for you works just fine for me.   Id prefer watching videos by guys i know  who can get the most out of a machine........ especially doing real hunts...... digging as they go.   Bottom line is ...... if this machine works for me and not you ...... hey im good.

  4. As a water hunter you saw we are a small group swinging detectors.   From what i saw ..... and know about detectors this seems to be the best water machine thats came out in a very long time.   It also seems to be a very versatile machine.   Im looking for one thing..... gold, if it does it better than the Xcal or CTX...... then plan and simple its what i want.   It may or may not pan out in other areas....... but it looks like its been tweaked pretty good for GOLD..... raw and jewelry.    It can be a pretty good learning tool for young ones interested in the hobby too since it has blue tooth.  The price just makes it hard to pass up.  Wives ....... chuckle chuckle.

  5. Less than that for us Vets......15% less.   That leaves something special for our Christmas sock.   Finally a water machine thats more than just a waterproof machine.   I know some of the effort that went into making this a very nice water and beach machine that may well have many putting up the Xcals and CTXs....... especially if they are looking for some of that smaller gold we just cant get.    Thanks Steve ..... for some reason you were the only real info available.   Still havent seen it dunked....... soooooo my first step will be to drop it in the pool.... cross your fingers lol.

  6. There isnt a hugh amount of iron out there compared to say dry sand or even near shore.   So im going to play with a lower setting hoping to pull some stuff near iron.   Ya ill have to play with bottle caps...... but those at least the fairly shallow ones are learned quickly.... and from what i saw will hit or jump around the nickel range.   Some of you may have hunted with a DFX...... they had single digits.  What we did there was disc the highest digit it cut out a good bit of response from wrap around and hot rocks.   I may try that as well just to see if it will allow a lower bias.   Im guess 4 is usable.  This seems to be much like IM on the Sov ...... it was on or off...... now we have the ability to adjust it to our tolerance.

  7. Still need an Andy book to kind of bring it all together...... the when to and not to stuff.

Clock.... Jeff,  ive got that on the CTX....... i know people think im blind when i put it up to my face to read it lol.    Good ole fashion waterproof Casio.... hard to beat.

Dont know if that question is a done deal for me on manual vs auto GB.  Ill have to figure out how manual may give me some advantages on the wet sand an in the salt water.

  8. Not a big deal for me....... it saves the last settings you were using when shut off too.   The CTX just makes ALL of them right there....... i dont see that this is much different having them in the proper area of use unless you need say 4 different for a specific areal like beach hunting ..... where a salt setting is required and salt setting isnt a on and off setting.

  9. Im just wondering if this will be a set and forget for MOST beach hunters?   It maybe something to play with if you rotate beaches.   Ive got a couple that have more small flakes of iron that others.   Something to be played with..... ill likely turn it much lower for beach hunting and tweak it.  May well be different near shore vs deeper too.

  10. Ill be playing with the beach modes as well.   They are fine in and around the water....... but most of us know if theres a salt setting there is a reduction to finding smaller gold.   Since we cant turn off the salt setting ill be trying to find a better way to get those smaller pieces..... going to be a butting pushing fool for awhile.

  11. The only thing i see...... you might not want to LEAVE it plugged in for long periods.   One of the things that damage phones and kill those batteries is they are over heated by being left on chargers over night.   Batteries Plus showed me my USB port....... you could tell it had been blackened from heat.   This is a larger battery....... but the USB isnt a smart charger.   Do expect the charge to take longer on a simple cell phone charger.

  12. I agree with all you said about having ONE machine to grab.   We had to settle with multi freq for beach hunting knowing in the dry sand we were getting depth...... but loosing out on the smaller gold.  You also forgot to say....... price for more than one machine.

I still find the poll interesting...... this machine may not be a coin hunters dream thou it seems to separate digit to their advantage..... it it offers beach and raw gold hunters a real interesting machine and i think those number reflect that.  I also believe a lot of those park and field hunters are looking at finding more gold too.

  13. Considering most machines arent salt water ready or raw gold capable........ thats more users....... and im sure there will be a lot of people looking to overlap in the areas.  That could equate to a chunk of change in sales.   Could we be seeing more companies combining all these tasks.....if not they wont keep up, especially if ML proves they will compete in each area that normally require nitch machines.

  14. Real odd on those war nickel Steve.  Got kind of the same situation here in Fl with parks..... oldest only date back to the 1930s.   It will be interesting when some of the older coins are thrown into the mix..... like 2 cent pieces and fatty IHs.. and the seated stuff.   Ill mostly be concentrating on gold.... so that 13 digits could be interesting just how tight it is.   I have days i dont even dig the coins, but currently can clearly tell what they are with the CTX.   A lot will also depend on the tones in that digit range i suspect as well...... using 50 or 5 tones.

  15. For me ...... its more about what will the tester be able to say after the release date is set.   Some have some very interesting videos and information i bet to share.   Steve needs to get his typing fingers ready .... i suspect hes going to get bombarded with questions until we get one in hand....... after that, everyone will be headed out to post their results.  May it will be like Christmas........ with no notice, you will get that unexpected dealer phone call...... hay i have your new EQ... will that be cash or charge?  That would really generate a lot of posts lol.

  16. I had no problem with mine being deleted Steve..... i understand why.   But i think you know that bottle caps are the one beach target that with a little depth can be iffy good targets.... thus the huge interest in where they fell.   In all fairness ...... it was about coins.

  17. To go along with that FLBCHBM....... you do have the option of 1/2/5/50 tones.   Ive was pretty used to having all those tones every since the Explorers.  But most people it took some time to learn them..... i think that was a big complaint on the Xcal.   Ive gotten spoiled with the CTXs ability to really adjust them in 5 tone.   For me the simpler the better in a water machine.   Im certain ill try them all...... but if 5 is flexible enough for beach trash targets ill likely be using that setting.   Some people just cant pick thru 50 tones...... but for use its more identifying iron and shallow bottle caps...... the rest we dig or at least kick the sand.

  18. After looking at those stats so far tell me companies shouldnt raise an eyebrow and produce more serious salt water machines.....not just waterproof machines.  Thanks Steve..... i think this is going to be interesting and maybe eye opening.   Disregarding coins....... i wonder how many of those park and beach hunters are looking to find more GOLD targets?

  19. Im sure you guys are chomping at the bite to give more details ...... and certain as well the day of shipment we will see BETTER videos of hunts...... thats when the real fun starts.   Silver is sweet........ but man gold rules, because i just never get rid of any of my found coins.

  20. Im not going to complain at this point about any information...... 6 months of felling like a mushroom.   He doesnt hunt the water thou does he Randy?   I noticed the 90 degree scoop in the left hand digging with his right foot...... try that out there chest deep lol.   None the less i appreciate his efforts in those conditions.   I do notice all the videos are VERY careful about what they show or dont show.   Unfortunately its the DONT show im interested in lol.

  21. Anyone talked to Pete Anderson to see if he has the shafts ready yet?   I need ask him.......... i just dont like aluminum for salt water.   Ill keep the shaft for resale.  Cant believe i didnt notice that.   I did like the lower shaft the head was a much harder plastic...... but its very hard to top Petes shafts.   All these extras....... but its still less that $2500 lol.

  22. Do we honestly believe with the tech in the coil they will be any cheaper than a CTX coil?   I dont.   I noticed they called it a HANDY ADAPTER ..... had they standardized it at 1/4" we wouldnt need that..... or used a CTX connector...... we wouldnt have needed that and could have used the phones we use on the CTX.   Remember the CTX.... $2500, youd thought they would have thanked us by using that adaptor...... which by the way they do use on the coil..... ugh.  So once you get the machine....... then you get the real sticker shock of accessories.  Like Steve im a bit disappointed at just 3 coils again.    The new Makro has 5.   This isnt just a coin machine..... needs to be a couple of good gold ones....... and honestly,  i would have preferred a coil more like the Xcal with a bit less drag.
