I am still looking for my first Civil War bullet.  You are making me green with envy here!  I would call that a fantastic day!

For sure, I'd put a shift in without complaint for a bullet a day. Lol all I hunt for really, as a rule anyway but there are exceptions I'll hit a homesite or sidewalk strip. Sites that produce these are hard to come by in my life but I'm fortunate to have acouple I've been pulling from for years. Gotta find the rabbit hole reads regimental that lead to locations not known to the masses or get Hella lucky.

That buckle is nice as nice right? Not a thing in sw va but it'd Maka my month and produce atleast as much time of motivation to swing a thing!

         Awesome

  3. BTW this token is top 10 all time finds list for me and my 6 years or so swangalangin. One day when I grow up ima find a fresh camp even if small and get some unicorn pieces! That's my motivation and I dig for hours day after day, rabbit hole after rabbit hole of dead ends, pieces of the story and so on for a off the very known written record gem that's waiting on me and my kiddos when I trip over it! 🙃 could be at the f.o.d. even after 400ish hours others 40years and a university dig  several summers long she still produces in a blow your mind small Sq ft core redoubt area. I've been slowly putting time in going away from core and so far every direction has produced and possibilities are vast because over 2years occupation with 20-60 full timers and many many marches of up to 10k yanks overnights and more on and around the grounds with several skirts n captured events. I have permission written in the land trust from owner who died which is so incredible he did that without me knowing and the lady he left it to tells me these stories of how he was happy seeing us come and dig it's wild.

She's a hippie liberal but pro 2a and we shoot the s=÷× on philosophy and murica almost every appearance.

All previous detectorist came swang and nail bits were to much for they're soft hands I reckon as they were largely 1 n done I was told. Crazy because first day atpro 6ish years ago 9 mine balls 6 gen service buttons and mycbuddy snagged acouple of both as well. Sorry to much I know but I was just recapping and writing some pretty darn cool things that I'm greatful and lucky to have as it's by far my #1 perm ever. So thick, far from done even in core because nails and dozens of acres untouched with spring ( only water) 150yds from core and I'm circling 40yds and in over all those legit hours. So hope is high and I don't swing anywhr I haven't read or heard of a reason to swing because there must be hope for piece of mind right? I can't swing on maybe or ya never know personally there must be evidence of old activities or I'd pop a few cans with bit of iron and leave disappointed and mad as hell! Lol 😆 with known history and hope I'll dig in a trash pile for a lone wheat head happily

I hope that I am not being out of line here by offering you some friendly but clearly unsolicited advice. But be careful with the tokens that you find because even in dug condition some of the rare or unlisted ones can command and are easily sold for enough money to pay for your D2 with all of the current accessories.

Obverse, didn't see that I failed getting it up

There should be a Token collectors society in your state or a town or city nearby.Keep in mind that it's a serious hobby now and they have a professional grading system for them just like coinage.

Maybe in knoxville but that's hour n half away. Nothing but poverty and beautiful country near me! Lol I'm on the road mostly though so I do most likely travel through or by a place that would know! Of course I found the aluminum smith token at home, smith is directly across the mtn! Still pretty cool and I'd guess early 1900's and site I found toughest damn site ever. 1 day I found 4 gardners and I've researched the cw to this spot too. Anyway this day was 50th day on site and I dig mostly big iron and nail bits as they are thick and thick may be understatement tbh. I'll keep plugging away though

Not at all out of line doc! With all my finds I make a business decision to clean for me or be gentle for value ( silver if found or old coinage doesn't get the brush, never considered the token as same but should) later on in my kids lives! I'm not interested in value tbh. It makes some things cooler or more prestigious for sure and I'll look at tokens as coins from now on! Thanks

You had a decent outing....The token looks to be in very good dug condition for me that's a day maker. The brass or possibly copper item with the nice patina in the last photo is intriguing any idea what it might be?

I do not have a clue tbh. I was hoping someone would though. It has a place for a pin and I kept it thinking it was different. Yeah the token was a 2cent piece for 3 hours while dirty and pocketed lol 😆 pleasant surprise and more personal imo to the Wisconsin soldiers who garrisoned the place.

  9.      Rained me out of work close to the f.o.d. so I manned up and went swinging! Wooded area super thick but never explored by me. Super hot alabama humid and rain led to complete run through of h20 and my everything. Had a rain coat but upon putting it on realized sweat and rain do the same so wore the hood to protect my ws6 and tied arms around my chest! Lol 😆  haven't swung 1.1 much except 1 baby outing so kept filters high so nail bit didn't cause me to fight a tree or worse! Happy with results and bc really can help with flat rusted tin like stuff ( usually run it 2,3 but less then 5 those things sound amazing). Happy 4th fellas be safe

my MI-6 showed up and I only had a couple minutes yesterday to pair/evaluate

--is there a way to have pulse audio(beep) thru hf  w/vibe?

it seems to only do pitch audio when paired, but literally only spent 5 mins with it

I understand the first 6 settings are when using it as 'stand alone'/not paired

The damn thing is a pain in my. Unpairs/ mode changes just turning on and off are plain ol frustrating. Tried using in a creek couldn't hear it with ws6, no vibrate paired. Unpaired it vibrate weak to barely feel it in swifter water. I like the idea, design and goes along with the xp system, wsa ll xl,pouch, phone pouch for belt is nice, etc. Quest max is better pointer imo

    How about this scenario?

Walking on the field, not scanning every m3,  just cruising.
    Deus2 settings:
Program Deep(up to 14 kHz), Leave the notch on 00-00 and set the discrimination from -6.4 all the way to 39. full tones, increased sensitivity, reduced reactivity to 1.5 , maybe 1
If I am coins orientated, I do not really care about anything else rather than a good signal(40+ for me). I do not have to hear anything else as I am not scanning the field, but always going forward, not coming back to the same location.

I tried this setup already and my D2 behaved quite well, to be honest. It seemed to get a bit deeper than the original Deep program, I could hear " less" noise.

The only question I have is: When using FMF on Deus 2 on the deep program, am I losing something in terms of finding the targets/identifying the sounds of good/false/bad targets?

I know I am missing something here.

Imo anytime one is going past 10 with (descrim) don't! Use notch instead it seems to be easier on machine and beneficial in my world. Could only be confidence with setup and finds or tn sharpshooter is on to something others as well. Depending on how much masking in ground with reactivity and also some programs seem to unmask better or worse with swing speed. Broadly speaking all things equal not extreme slow or fast, say swing speeds equal on a test target. One program may be best at reactivity 2 and one at 1 or 3. Also in ground how deep are your finds on average? If your not known to dig over 8,9" then reactivity 1.5/2 and up for me! I basically hunt in red clay or jacked up dirt too, depth really hasn't been a problem or rather 2/2.5/3 hit deep enough and give more benefit then harm is the point. Site depending, if trashy you'll be rewarded more with 2 and up. If clean let her eat by all means! If coins are your aim notch it all but 59-63 79-100. Pullrings, can slaw and nice bottlecaps with occasional bent nail will be your only or mostly the enemy you'll see!

I believe I'm alive today because of metal detecting. I have been single for a long time now. "My Time Machine" takes me to another world.  I reach into the hole and go back in time 100, 200, 300 years.  At my age I could have been setting in front of the TV, 300 pounds, depressed and ready to pass on.  I'd never consider going to a Gym, I'd never just go for a 3-5 mile walk for my health.  When I detect I go till I'm about finished, Then walk a mile or so back home, A real workout.

What did I find? Well I jumped deer, seen the birds and the trees, got my lungs full of fresh air. Then the bonus of traveling back in time and pulling history out of the ground... Thanks to the Detector Gods.

That's right, you do it all correct and betrayal, mistake or any number of unfortunate events can and will be thrown at ya over a lifetime! I'd like to think it adds character! Could be a tough build at times, sometimes seemingly to hard to get through! One fact will shine through, barring tragedy you will get through with new layers and hopefully 1 point to pay toward wisdom!

Lucky to have tipped into detecting, others tipping the other way as seamless and easy as detecting! Your not wrong! I'm just the antihero, especially for those who for whatever reasons fell into the abyss! It's tough and most stay there, possibly hating the choice, becoming more and more hopeless, void of dreams or reason to fight. Olive branch whether opportunity, encouragement, confrontation of this behavior and much more could be all it takes to save them! Probably not but I've seen it go from hopeless to redneck empire in 11 yrs. If you weren't judging sorry if you were well.

Weather it’s a new site your trying for the first time.
Or it’s a site that you got stuff in the past and it’s slim pickings

Depends completely on my information of the site! Is it known for certain to have old activities or hope of activities. If it's a hope job and evidence isn't found within hours ( hours of actual covering ground being efficient) I'm out! Old sites even if they are extremely tough hunts I'll walk the wheels off in random circles, zigs, zags etc and return if I strike out.

I decided to hunt the woods of the property where I work.  I’ve probably mentioned this before, but the property dates back to the early 1900s as a resort/vacation destination for folks coming up from the lowcountry area of South Carolina to the higher, cooler mountain air of the NC mountains.  I was hitting the occasional shotgun headstamp when I came upon an area with a ton of iron signals.

The old lock was about 12” deep and was ringing up like a silver half.  Also found were two old pocket knives, part of a kerosene lamp, a button (probably from bib coveralls), various shot shell headstamps, a junk ring (probably more modern than the other finds as this area is pretty close to a walking trail), a clad dime and copper memorial.

The 1903 dime was found on property about a quarter mile away from the other stuff.  I also found a 3 merry widows tin near that dime.

Very nice hunts with a lot of good finds, congrats on the hard work you put in to finding all of it.

Good luck on your next outing and stay safe out there.

I've certainly been extremely happy quite a few days! The iuka day(4hrs or so) atpro,10 69,71 total had a pistol bullet 1 butto. And 3 button backs. That day was tough to beat until last year I guess. My buddy dug 4,5 buttons including va officer cuff and 2 bullets as well.

Finding a indian or silver in a sidewalk strip is always a winner. Firs t trip to f.o.d's. 9 bullets several buttons and may have been pre iuka so it was epic. The day I dug the 14 cannister was good for sure. BTW they are t.i.d. 07/dues 2 fast.

Like everyone else I've plowed through a darn many hard times hunts as well! Lol depending on my location for work if I can get to a producing perm! I've grown to remind myself the needed mentality of its all good if you swing and have the peace you seek, mentality is everything! I've also broken and frustrated to extremity. I'm a loose cannon that must remind myself what's important and to stay calmish! Lol seriously though i must wage war inside to stay responsible as man should when depended on by his family!  Pretty unique life, truly lucky to have this life! born to the doomed bottom level of poverty and 30yrs in with a series of terrible choices my anger turned the gun on myself (metaphorically) and I kicked myself into a man with help of hope(wife who had never seen addiction). Lol in 11 short years we have it all kids, materials(best of the best) galore, home + rentals the whole darn nine! Lmao 🤣 not that those things make one happy, only you can make you happy!:

im literally living proof,1 of few that changed it against all odds! Proud of it too and fairly open for possibly helping any in need! I'm telling ya I was egg sandwich 21 days straight trailerpark forever hopeless. A guy I knew from school random got me a job out of nashville and it changed my world! (Family owns no ride, hopelessly stuck is hopeless indeed) for the ahh heck boy grab em bootstraps guys! Lol 😆 I was raised in the forced backer patch Era,never feared work just took it for granted alot because I was usually better then others until I was fired! Smh.

Yep went and rambled, it is a tough world for some more then others indeed! However if you fight long enough a break will occur so don't throw it away when it happens! Takes years of good choices to matter meaningfully too! Be tough! Don't stay with what you know is dead ended either, yeah L9VE  is tough to but at some point it's not love just ignorance! Haha

That was my original fall from grace a good ol fire n gasoline situ! Just say hell no!

Now let's get a gold coin off one these camps!? Good luck really really and be safe.

  17.      Wanted to document if you will some of the areas and finds from them while I still retain good info.

Lid full is field of dreams, buddy has also dug a good bit (r.i.p.) and I've gave bullets to many who think them cool. Dues 2 all cannister, plate, buckle both officer buttons and 15ish bullets in 8 trips 2hr to 6. Much more to go.

           Coins,tax tokens Tuscumbia al.

Flat buttons from all places but 4,5 from lee county.

          Dirty bullets,chess pieces,iron ring railroad.

Fired lead missionary ridge ( dozens more).

            69 cals,71cals iuka miss.

          White lead Reston va.

Gardners was 4 from a confederate camp I've had no time to explore and undocumented, not a chance it's known or touched all 4 came from 10ft diameter and its a extremely tough site.

        Grill,south beach.

I have the few permissions that produce and I've chased many that don't like everyone! Coins were sidewalk strip!

The railroad site is killer and I've not been based in chatt to really get at it but everytime I've went in it's been a solid short time!

Many acres to field of dreams never walked too! Permission in a trust ( original fella died and new owners told me this).

Yall have a riot. Best of luck and may you dig me under! Be safe
