I too have had the same problems. You have to notch about everything to quiet it down. I have found a little gold with it,but only near mild bedrock. IDK where Klunker took you in the past couple days. But seems to me,everything in this county is hot ground. I just don't see much use using a VLF looking for gold around here. I did get the douche to run fairly quiet near Rye Patch. 

BTW. I stopped by Klunkers shop on Friday afternoon to say hello. But I guess you guys were still out in the fields.

For the Explore the Outdoor event we will not be doing GOLD PANNING as the park removed the panning flume. We will instead be partnering with Reno Detecting and Prospecting group to put on metal detecting event.

One week using the GPZ 7000

I keep hearing the term "Favorable Geology" on here. What geologic indicators do you look for while detecting for gold.

Over the years of prospecting. Weather it be dredging, highbanking, detecting. I've came across to strange finds in my pursuit of the elusive gold.

I've found a fish hook in the desert. 

A gold bridge with a few teeth in it while dredging.

A hot wheels car. Miles from any road.

I think the Extra Deep setting needs to be explained more. From what I've heard. It really does nothing. Just a marketing ploy. But there got to be more than that to it. If in a trashy area, and you know there is deeper gold. Why wouldn't this be a viable option?

The only positive I see for having only one coil. Is not worrying about someone breaking in your truck and stealing the thousands of dollars of GPX coils.

All gold is beautiful. And losing a pound per gram of gold is a good trade-off.

Keep hitting that area. Go low and slow.

I liked my 2300 and 5000. But wanting to upgrade to the 7000 has it's costs.
