All kidding aside. What seems to be people's concerns at the show on the Zed 7000 ?

I have both the 5000 and the sdc2300. And have come to the realization that I have to be happy with them. Just because the 7000 is out doesn't make them less effective. Still great machines. Wishing I had a 7000. But like my momma's says" wish in one hand and s#*t in the other, and see what hand fills up first".

I wish I could afford to get the 7000. Not in the cards right now.

I would be willing to bet though I could do well in my area with one. I think the first detectorists with the 7000 will do real well on all of the old past producing patches and find new patches on the border fringe areas of the original patch.

Im hoping I can be one. But only if it is meant to be.

As far as character references. Yes I am a character.

I live and detect at over a mile high in elevation. Sometimes cold temperatures. I wonder if that would be a issue ?

I had a few gold prospecting related bumper stickers on my rig. I thought people might see those and draw some attention. So I peeled them off. When you carry expensive detectors. No need to stick out.

With that. I'm out the door with the 5000. Hoping to score the 6 oz nugget to be able to purchase a 7000. Nothing like detecting in the high Sierra in February. We need a March miracle Storm.

One thing I wanted to add. I like to see the heavy material below my riffles "Dancing Around". Not blowing out or clogging up. Just dancing.

I agree with what Fred. Get in a group of detectorists that know their craft. You can pick up so many pointers and somewhat shorten your learning curve. Watching YouTube videos on your machine can also give you tips. Then get the many hours of hands-on experience with your detector. And your hard work can be rewarded. If you are on the right real estate.

What I'm saying about that is. Lots of people shut down the highbanker to many times to see what gold the might have in the box. The box then looses all of it's water. Then they poke around the box, looking for gold. Then start it up again, big rush of water. Your fines go blowing out the end. Nothing wrong with my sluice. Just me.

And to add to Kens post. Would you need 2 wireless modules to have dual speakers?

I've encountered bs issues also. Clean up more often! 5 gallon bucket your cons. Go through them at home. No sense wasting your time in the field messing with them. I always check my inspection matting to see if you are still in the paylayer.

Remember don't put too much drop on the sluice. Or too much volume of water thru it. A too steep sluice will lose fines. Also stopping and starting a power sluice, gold will drop down the riffles. So avoid that if possible.

Just wondering about the battery life. How many hours? And how much would the GPS and Maps features eat into the battery life each day.

Does the Super D coil act like a mono coil on the 5000?
