I have another item that i bought some time ago off of ebay! But i can't find them anymore! Its a silicone cover and battery plug for the nox! The only problem with it is you cannot see the screen through the white silicone! But it does make the pod waterproof!👍👍

I read somewhere that this silicon cover you put on the display making the detector warm inside and it damage the unit, don't know if t was a bull or right??

  2. That type of S-stem with the sea hunter is going to be a pain in.....its going to feel a lot of pressure on the wrist,i have tried this settings. The best settings i have tried and use right now is the straight shaft by plugger. It balances the detector awesome. You don't feel any weight at all with the big coil.speaking of big coil on sea hunter, this one i have right now is my third coil, the others i broke the coil ears because when i hunted the deep water i had to hang on something to help me dig and it was the detector, that force a pressure on the coil ears which snapped.

I agree on about everything you said. I just want to see it put out by Minelab. Be transparent. Why is it on the 800 , not the 600 ? I was around in the 70s....and the 60s. But the covid excuse only plays out so far. As you have said yourself , some of your business ventures have profited during this time. I believe electronic supply issues will be short term. Not withstanding , there are good detectors out over the last few years with prices dropping (simplex) overall. Higher end appears to be a different story I'm afraid as you've mentioned. But I was mainly referring to a prior post about "hunt more to recover your costs". So....if the price drops and I hunt and find more...should I send them some extra $ ? 🤣 I was offended and put this into a real life scenario that actually happened. But yes , overall everything will go up. And massive tax increases are just the start...

In my country(in Europe) our dealer has increased the price of all detectors he sell and both 800 and 600 went up in price dramatically,so it is not just 800.

  4. Something I wanted to mention is the price of the new 15 round coiltek. It is so damn expensive! I can order one from Australia but 419 AUD plus shipping is going to hit the ceiling.Have to think about it awhile and watch some incoming review videos and maybe then buy one, don't know........

I very much like my CTX/17 for wet sand hunting and I use it with a hip stick.  The GPS lets me return to old spots accurately and remember previous ring finds.  I don't think it would be easy to control the coil underwater.

It is now simpler for me to grab my Equinox/15 and use it without assistance but I get similar depth and I think I have found more gold in Beach 1 than I was finding with the regular use of the CTX.  I slow down more with the Equinox than I did with the CTX so if I go back to an occasional use of the CTX slower is a way to go.

The 15 really isn't an underwater coil.

There is a rumor that the Silver Slayer from Minelab is going to be an underwater beach machine.  It that were true I'd be waiting on that unit.

I have a bit of drag under water with the 17 inch coil but its manageable, its certainly a beast. What do you mean by Minelab silver slayer machine? which model is it?

PPP, genuine question for you and not a dig.

The lack of discrimination on the SDC would drive me crazy on the beach.  Is that not an issue where you are planning to hunt or what you are hunting for?  Do you just dig everything and mineralisation is the bigger concern?

    Cheers, N.E.

    Hi Northeast!

The place i'm hunting in the water is now almost hunted out and you find only time to time some super deep coins or gold if the sand moves on a good way.I have sea hunter with the big coil as well and even it goes deep,i have hard time to find anything.I know there is still a lot of gold left but deep and my ctx3030 have catch some gold and i'm looking for a deeper machine. The beach is not so mineralized and i can run ctx with max sensitivity.Talked to my dealer and asked about TDI beachhunter but after he contacted the Garrett they have'nt figured out about the selling the unit and right now they don't sell TDI.I thought maybe TDI goes deeper than ctx?

  7. Hi!

Another classic question, but i have a ctx3030 with 17inch coil and do mostly detecting in the saltwater. It goes deep and thats what i'm looking for, depth,,I know that SDC2300 is a PI machine and very sensitive to gold. But when it comes to depth comparison in saltwater and knowing the SDC2300 has 8 inch coil, then the question is which detector goes deeper?is it worth buying that expensive unit just for saltwater beahhunting?

As oddles of Equinox warranty's are expiring, it's been relatively quite on the Equinox forums.

On the Dankowski forum there was a call from Mr. Dankowski himself requesting feedback for features to be implemented by Minelab on the next Equinox iteration.  He and Steve H. appear to be two of the main beta testers in the U.S.

Do we expect to see the next incarnation of the Equinox revealed at Detectival 2021 (if Covid doesn't shut it down a second year)?

I personally hope so.The Equinox is already a super nice machine and improving it makes it even better. If they could improve it on the waterproof department,it would be greate.

  9. I think the flame of buying an AQ in me has been gone now.As Steve said it all can be put on ice for ever.I think those who bought the Limited version has gambled(No guarantee for the unit + some issues which the machine has).I think when now Steve selling his AQ it can be an ALARM for the rest of us.The final production can be a myth.

  10. looking forward to see any comments from Alexander about the progress and updates of the unit.Actually we haven't heard anything or reading any comments from him for a long time, hope he is busy with fine tuning the detector😄(moving the headphone connection to the back of the controllbox, implementing new battery design, new 8 coil)

Nothing new either on the Fisher AQ webbsite, its the same info which we had before.

Went out last night for a low tide wet sand hunt with the AQ. Got to the beach a little late, tide was already coming in so I was only able to hunt for about 2:30 hrs before the swells took over the slope. Pretty sanded in conditions but still managed a little clad and hit a surprise 2.2 gram 18k white gold diamond half band about 2 scoops down on the upper slope. Also pulled out a 1957D wheatie at some point. Took a pic of the settings I was running, I was in All-Metal for the entire hunt.

    Have I mentioned I'm a big fan of OBN's Big Battery? 😁

Love the battery design by OBN,,but it seems according to the picture that if you drop the unit or put it on the ground ,the battery hits the ground first cause it sticks out of the foot support,or am i wrong?

  12. Hi guys!

Finally 2021 arrived and we are still waiting for the AQ.It would be nice if someone could confirm if the release date for the final product is still in April as i heared before?

I found a link for a pre-order of the final unit at a UK website(Joe Allen) but they have removed it.That was a bit strange.Any report on the 8 coil and even price which Joe do right now would be interesting as well.any comments?

Most of my hunting has came to a halt the last month. Since I am my Moms caregiver,... I was only able to get out a few times last month. Hopefully next year I can get back to normal. I know....It's killing me setting out these low winter tides!  The good, the gold is not going anywhere and I am alive.....

    Hi joe!

I heared you are testing 8 coil for the AQ right now, I know that it can be confidential and you can't expose any info, just preciate if you post some thoughts later when it is OK to post anything about that! Cheers
