If I can Give you an advice, think about the urgency of this machine for You.

Also, with my experience since june 2019 with this toy, I can say that is better to avoid saltwater diving with it, unless you take the risk to change coil and void the warranty.

Conversely, on the beach is a really stable and for the most, a quiet runner even with GB on.

I think there's not so much of a difference between the two machines, only little less "undesired" targets with the AQ(I mean higher conductors), being more oriented to gold range conductivity and without "holes"...Both things can be solved with some experience however.

Just forget the GB knob and dig till your arm is next to broke🤣

    Thanks for the reply!

I 'm not going to dive but wading in salt water chest deep all the time. How does it perform in that situation? I Heard that it is a Deep machine, have you any comparisson to sea hunter with big coil? Does it go as Deep as sea hunter?

  2. After some Disappointment regarding not been able to buy an AQ outside the US ,I'm going to buy a Whites TDI Beachhunter instead.I really wanted to buy one for a long time ago but waited and waited for the AQ to come to market. The problem is IF I know how much longer takes for the REAL improved unit to be released,I could wait, but God knows how long it takes.

I definitely hear and understand your frustrations after waiting all this time. But it's not my gig. All I can offer is that there will supposedly be a fully waterproof version more in line with what you are really wanting at some point later, that you will presumably be able to buy from dealers in Italy. For you and all the people like you, I truly am sorry. However, I will also say that it is what it is. I'm not going to let all this devolve into a litany of complaints. I want to recognize your concerns and dissatisfaction as being real and for good reason, but at the same time I want everyone to be aware that complaining further here won't change anything. Your best bet if you are really upset is to contact Fisher directly with your concerns.

Thanks Steeve for your concern and info.I did use the link you post for contacting Fisher and write my thoughts and disappointment about the whole issue not been able to buy one in Europe.I know they do'n't care about what I wrote but it's better than be quiet.

I have contacted DHL and they are shipping worldwide with minimal issues, and delivery times are not impacted severely between most countries.

Unfortunatley  this limited edition  not going to sell outside the US, it doesn't matter now if DHL or other companies can deliver or not. It kind'a sucks for oss in Europe not being able to buy one. We have to wait God knows how long again for Fisher this time. And when it comes out the price may is more than doubled for sure. Sucks.....

Steve I have two bread tray sifters and I'm getting ready to redo one sifters with a smaller plastic mesh. I just came across this the other day and ordered. Should be here in a few weeks...I have one spot I get lots of little things by "accident" .........most come up with another bigger target I was digging......Like. Ear rings, charms, small gold chains....Hoping it's what I need and can help me save a few of the gold ones ......It was a Small beach but really packed them in during the 30's to 60's.  I'm not really a Micro Jewelry hunter but nothing worse then seeing a gold earing post fall thru the holes in the sifter....Got it off of ebay, used for the bottom of planters or pots to keep the soil from washing out..I'll keep you informed on this..

  6. I hunt in salt water waste deep with both Garrett sea hunter(big coil) and Equinox .was disappointed about the depth i get with the Equinox compared to sea hunter. It does't even touch the depth i get with the sea hunter. It finds of course small stuff which sea hunter doesn't see at all but the depth is lacking.Don't know if i have to sell the Equinox or not,any help?

I'm honestly scared to potentially burn other money in another machine, especially after the still unsolved troubles with my TDI bH and for the waterproof AQ's rate of 1mt. too... snip

The AQ shaft too is not exactly what a water hunter will love...Second mod in my plans will be a full straight Anderson type... Immediately!

In a way or another I definitely want back my good days...

When you do this for a living, yellow is what matters...

They have changed the range of waterproffness from 1m to 3m i think and the shaft is a straight shaft and you dont need to buy a straight shaft from Andersson.

  8. I will buy one directly when it becomes available.Don't need any review or testing. After some years of following the develop of this detector and faith in Alexander I know it will perform outstanding on beaches where i hunt.Every time i go out hunting in the water I think about the AQ,I know when i don't find anything in the water its my detector that doesn't detect deep enough to get to goodies and i say to myself if the AQ was here I could definitely hear more signals.Come on Fisher!!!!!!!

I’ve never detected Southern California beaches. In general west coast beaches are full of black sand magnetics derived from the coastal mountain ranges, and so a good place for the TDI.

the other factor is trash levels and your desire for digging trash.  In general places with lots of ferrous rusted stuff are a pain. PI detectors love ferrous stuff. Think hair pins and wire tie wraps.

The question is if its worth trade my detectors for a TDI beachhunter.

Amazing what a week of the wrong direction winds can do. Keeping tides very high and pushing sand in...Not Good. But luck was with me the last two hunts and I was able to get into a small section out in the middle of no where and dig some treasures. Four Gold rings and eight silvers.
