  1. ย  ย Gotta wait and see for me! Although I like my 800, ML'sย irksome behavior and design issues/choices,ย over the years still bother me, and has me second guessing a future purchase!!

ย  ย One thing I would really miss is the WM08 if I upgraded! I use it most days with my waterproof earbuds, as headphones are too hot and slippery most of the year, and I like my big sun hats on the beach! Plus I pretty much like the "used detector category" mostly these days anyway!

ย  ย I'll give it more consideration, when you all dump your "new" detectors for the next big release!!๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

It seems to me people are the main predators and the most dangerous to other people, not the wildlife.

    ย

    ย  ย Agreed Simon!

ย  ย Their not an occasional risk here, but an ever present danger, depending where you hunt! ๐Ÿ˜” Animals are at least honest, and somewhat predictable, in their behavior! I wanted to keep it light, so I didn't throw humans in the mix!!๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

  3. Hey Paul,

ย  ย Welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear about the places being banned from detecting! I've had that issue before, as many of us have! Hang in there, and don't let it get to you, and ruin a great hobby! There's always somewhere to detect!!!

ย  ย As far as iron ignoring detecting goes, you already have some great machines! Hate to say, but that Compass is basically a wall hanger now, and may still be a fun distraction, but ancient for the reasons previously stated by those with much more experience than myself!ย

ย  ย Now, on the other hand, a few more modern machines that can do that well, but aren't new releases, or have a warranty, are Tesoro's! I have several, and love how simple and light they are! The Tejon is one of my favorites, as it has dual discs, and can still be found in new old stock on several online stores!ย

ย  ย Good luck, hope everything works in you favor!!๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

When you dig a hole it's like those sand scapes you make in a jar at home by layering all kinds of different colored sand. It's a mix of black sand and regular sand!

ย  I know exactly what your talking about! Have those exact conditions here, after a good storm! And I do notice depth and target loss, in those layers with my 800! But the good news is, when we get that layering, there's most likely coins and jewelry to be had there; especially older ones! So those decorative layers make me happy!!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

    And BTW, Happy New Year!!๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ™

  5. ย I watched it last night!

ย  ย It was just as entertaining as the series, and valuable lessons to boot!! Also helps visualize how an old item had a life of its own through history, and those who touched it! Good show for family and friends, to try and understand our "obsession", that often goes deeper, than the monetary value of a found item!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

  6. ย  ย I'm still a big fan of my Treasure Products Vibra Probe 585! I'm still using the one I bought 8 years ago!

ย  ย It's a 9v PI, vibration only, longer than most all others on the market, tip only detection, and good to 100 ft! And its a tilt on/off internal switch with an auto shutoff after one minute! Nothing to wear out!

ย  Don't know what frequently it operates on, as it's not in the specs, but I use it everywhere, and its very tough! I've had no problems with small items, but it has to be relatively close to them, of course! Actually, I count that as a plus, as those tiny items are easier to locate!

ย  ย I actually picked up two hardly used ones on Ebay this year, as backups, for less than $50 each!! I also have a Garrett Carrot, and a Pulse Dive with coils, but the 585 is my Go-To!! I only get mild interference on detectors, if its close to them, but I just hold it behind me, when switching back and forth with detector, and interference stops! I also dip all my pinpointer shafts in plast-dip to protect the shaft from wear (colors available)! When that wears through, I just peel off the old, and redip again!! Also, a bungee lanyard is a must for any pinpointer, so they don't "mysteriously" disappear from your holder!!๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ย

Still not going to tell you temp down here.

ย  That's OK Gary! He's always telling me about (our weather) almost daily, so he is well aware! On top of the fact that, I tell him too!! He's my "BOB" weather app!! Also him, and others are always welcome to come here and share (our) beach "permissions"!!๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

  8. Hey Bob,

ย  ย Your detector and coil testing always keeps me interested; and of course,ย  finds! Even when I don't own a Deus!ย

ย  ย BTW, you don't have to worry much about Raynaud's in Florida!!๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ˜ Now heat exhaustion, that's another story!! But relics can be a little scarce here!!๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

  9. ย  ย That is one nice gold chain Z!!๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‘

ย  ย  I've got a beautiful crushed๐Ÿ˜ญย gold pocket watch, that was my first gold find with the Equinox!! Found in a vacant lot, next to an old house foundation!! But no chain attached!!๐Ÿ˜‚

ย  ย The only "good" thing about the watch; other than being gold, was that I was able to trace the make and serial number, that was still legible! As I recall, I think the date of manufacture was 1917!

ย  ย Great find, and who knows, that watch may still be out there! And probably easier to locate than the chain was, with your detector!!๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

  10. ย  ย You've found my spots Pi-Man!! (JK) And I just got a new PI today man!! (No Joke!)ย  We are going to have to have a Kevin James dual!! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐ŸคฃSee you out there!!๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

ย  ย Gotta PM me sometime, if you want to go for a hunt!!ย I'll do the same!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
