  1. I wanted to set up the ORX for shallow park hunting. so i chose the coin fast program.and used a low 56 sensitivity , and set the disc at 45 to make a low tone on small foil, and the reaction was on 2.5 and at that setting i could still get a good signal on a 6" dime and on pull tabs7" now the small foil can be picked up at 4and 5 " but makes a low  so i did one more test i took the small foil, which is flat not crumpled ,set a penny under a cup turned upside down, and put the foil on top . in fact two pieces of small foil about the size of a quarter  covering the penny 3.5" under and i got a mid tone and not a low , If the penny was removed i got a low .  so the ORX can get thru small foils and at least give a mid tone thru the small foils  and that for just shallow park hunting. and i was using the 8.4 khz for the test as it is less responsive to foils, but still hits on tabs and nickles good .so i can find rings

  2. my settings- 6.4 khz  Mix mode, sensitivity was 7, and threshold set at 1 ,  black sand on ,salt on and balanced to 39. and ground balanced to 616 .and was using the 12" DD coil I hunted a park ,where the old swing set was . and the soil was glacial gravel & sand.and i got a nice solid 18-20 and had to dig way down to 1" past the depth of the pinponter  and up comes a clad quarter. It was a solid 10" deep I was impressed. the other quarter was 7" . and i found several tabs down at the 10" level as well . but again small foil.  Also out of the hole came several egg size basalt rocks that did not seem to block the signal to my 10" quarter . So I know this machine can find the silver if its down in the ground  very pleased with the tarsacci

  3. Took the Tarsacci into the park . and if you ask me it did very well .I dug no small foils, and it was hitting targets deep and shallow ,i dug about 4 targets in the 9" range. and you can tell they are deeper the way the pin point blurs and is not as sharp as a surface target. I found its best to just swing slow and take it easy.  I hunted for about 20 minutes and just kept finding targets.  I am very pleased so far with this detector  my setting was 6.4 khz 5 gain -1 threshold black sand on , and salt on and set to 41 which helps ignore small foils

  4. I have a 7" dime and 6.4khz hits it best, but i did scroll thru all the others, up to 18khz. I got some loss of depth at18khz but still got the signal well.so if you are in iron prone spot and probly could not get deep anyway 18khz could serve you well.  and around EMI having the BLACK SAND ON  helps simmer it down

  5. I had a equinox 600 and i got rid of it ,to me it falsed badly on cut nails and It was hell to swing , was prone to leak. some of its good points are ,good target I,D in average soil and good depth , I now own a tarsacci and its not badd to swing  and its built alot better. handles mineralized ground alot better , and small foils , If i had a choice its the Tar machine

  6. Into the outfield with the tarsacci .my setup was 6.4khz black sand on , salt on and @number 35, gain was 7 , threshold 2 , and using the 12" coil . one thing is i was not digging small foils, but i was digging Can slaw, and the numbers jump around on the can slaw, running in Mixed mode, iron was very identifiable , sometimes you get a false ding , but its not consistent, moves or disappears, but the good targets don't  the quarter was giving good numbers and about 6" deep , not to many deep targets in this run . I can say i am very pleased with the Tarsacci , I know it will home in on the Gold rings if they come along . and is no slouch on coins

  7. Well it is deeper, that's an advantage, the 12"coil is going to hit deeper with a louder signal.  but many of the targets where not that deep so it must be getting thru the bits of iron better. and the black sand,  one thing is its blow sand but lots of iron in the sand and the black sand mode really make a very clear difference, then add to that the Salinity balance , its just able to cut thru the crap better

  8. 12" coil, and i have been doing some testing as well . I have a dime buried at 7" and the ground is contaminated and i have overhead power lines20ft away. so i tried my DEUS and it would not hit the dime . but has the 9" coil  but the emi is efecting the Deus so i have to turn down the gain, so then its not hitting the dime . the Tarsacci with the 12" coil on 5 and 6 gain hits it hard. but you would think the bigger coils would be more EMI prone.  but one thing that helps is the BLACK SAND MODE it really clears up the signal

  9. Just got the TARsacci, and am new to it . so I was out at the park and kept getting signals that after digging the plug i got no sound. so I thought G WIZZ could anything be that deep ? so i dug down and down and finnaly the pinpointer started to beep. and i figured it must be a big iron .  but low and behold at a full 14" up comes a brass lamp part. and get this i did not have the detector maxed out  i was in 6.5khz black sand on and salinity on at 37 and a gain of 5 and threshold of 2.  Also it can agnor some kinda beefy foils and not only ignore them on the suface, ( I dug no small foils)  but you can whack a penny derectly under the foil and no masking like 7" under the foil I did the testing . no VLF I know will do that . I will be selling my TDI soon  the Tarsacci not only ignors the small foils but can hit silver and Gold under the foil

  10. took the Tarsacci to the spot i went over with the DEUS , and the Tar found alot of things i missed. makes me think the small coil on the DEUs is more efected by iron that the 12" Tarsacci coil  not to mention i had the black sand mode on and using 12khz with a 3 threshold and i only covered 40% of the area. I got fooled by the spoon , the bottle cap , the chain linkand a iron wedge that is flat . so when i got home i did some testing and found the iron will give a low tone on the edge and a high in the middle, and also Iron is a longer drawn out signal. still learning but very happy with the Tarsacci so far .

  11. took it out again in the same area and found 6 more copper cents and lead, it handles the black sand better and little rust bits, .But its going to be some time before i get to know how to really use it to its full potential.i was hunting right under a power line to the house 10ft away  and the TV cable was buried at 6" and i found some pennys right next to it . Hard to imagine such a big coil getting such good seperation

  12. Just got this machine, so i just wanted to take it out in the yard i have hunted for 4 weeks with the XP ORXand DEUS , after digging some tabs , which amazed me as i had been over this spot , and not just one but 6 targets i missed then i find the sterling Military pendant at 7" deep . I did not dig one Iron item, but i could hear iron .  all i can say is this machine is different and its good ,very good .  in 5 minutes this machine pulled out the 1st silver from this site.

Lot of table ware got tossed as well and not a few tips this is now the second Mercury dime i found on this site, and i figure tens of them waiting, maybe some quarters two.  found a miniture wine bottle as well, it must have been served to costumers.
