  1. Dmnz, I remember your run on the Gold rings when you broke out with the Atx.    Then you and everyone else got  jacked with all the problems. A lot of ifs surround that machine.   If Garrett did this or did that with it. Hope you got a good one, let us know how it goes.

Like any machine with a bit more depth.... be prepared to hit virgin targets.... DEEPER target of all sorts.  You are the man if you are mud hunting.   That even sounds like work and makes my back hurt lol.   You using a sifter?   They can really cut down recovery time.  Closest thing to mud bottoms i hunt is Ft Meyer beach.... you have the river mud mixed with sand.  If you get movement there.... it gets crazy with the bottle caps and can slaw.

Ahh Dew,  I'm mud hunting for Clad & Jewelry.    Not nuggets or such.    But  I guess you could call it sifting, one Plug at a time.   Also be doing some fresh water hunting along with a couple trips to a east coast beach ,hopefully.   Till come December, than back to the Florida Gulf. 3 Months.

  3. Hey, right now even though I got a lot of hours on the Standard coil, I still got a bunch to learn.    In most areas it's very hard to come up with a Gold Ring while mud hunting.     (Unless you got a hot lead)   I went a little over 2 years without, until last year when I came up with 3 out of the mud and 1 wading.     This is with the same machine I went dry with for 2 years plus.     A guy can get some serious doubts about his hunting in that length of time.    That's Buckets of tabs & Alum slaw.   Was it me , my machine or the law of averages?      I'll say this, 3 of those rings came from practically hunted out ball fields.   I mean it would be a challenge to dig a dozen tabs in a couple of these sites.    So as far as this type of hunting "Gold is where you find it"    As it's going right now, Silver jewelry is popping up now and then, cause it's there.    I'll be getting the 12 inch in a couple of months to go over what I've been going over.   A guy gotta give himself an edge, don't be.

  4. I was looking for a high end machine for a few years.   Had to be waterproof and handle salt water.   Every now and then one would come to my attention. The disappointment would start.   Waterproof but not for saltwater.   A real good one came along, but lost sound when the coil was surmerged.  There's a way around that for this model but didn't turn me on.  A real tried and very popular brand came out and I almost bit.   Showing my age I guess.   What everyone liked about most of these units was the many options, modes available to hunt with.   Plus if that weren't enough, computer updates.  Just might be me but another thing to mess my mind up.     So back in January on another forum the Basstrackerman made mention of the Tarsacci.  Did a lot of research.   Had everything I was looking for.   So pulled the trigger.   Handled wet salt sand /wading quietly.  Got a lot of depth.   Read a couple times mild mud hunting isn't it's best environment.  I'll say this, I alternate it with a very sharp fairly new analog machine. They both are dredging up coins I couldn't pull up in the past.  Both are a lot of fun to use and in the mud their a real nickel killers.    They both also have a good nose for silver items. Tarsacci made in USA and no regrets.

  5. Thanks for your honest videos.    There are some ;not all vids out there that make hunting seem like a walk in the park.    No shame in digging a pull tab, especally a round beaver tail type.      How many times we dig that nickel, gold signal thinking "This is it"    Only to dig up the bane of all tabs, the beaver tail.      It's gotta be human nature for the quest of gold.      Otherwise everyone would disc out the nickel and below.    Now I'm just talking for my hunting which is for Clad & Jewerly.    Where  you have to swim threw a sea of pull tabs to come up with a gold.

  6. A true test for any detector.    Yesterday, took the Tar to my favorite HS football stadium.   Gave the side lines and other areas around the field a good going over with a couple different machines last year.  As expected I was hunting down targets that I just flat out missed. The real test for the Standard coil came around the edges of the home grand stands.  It gets hunted, but I mean No Body even trys to clear out 30 years of aluminum , iron bolts etc, accumulated.    Got to admit this coil with it's spot on pinpointing surprised me on its ability to pry out coins between and sometimes in the same hole.    So the coins I managed out of this mess helped with the days hunt.      Ended up with 33 coins for $5.02.    No bling but 8 of those coins were nickels.  That were coming in on a solid 06.      Not too bad for batting clean up.

To be fair I've hunted 3 sites this year by the Tar and another favorite machine, and couldn't break a buck.   It just wasn't there.   I blame it on the competition and lack of use due to the Covid.      I guy got to have a excuse, can't he.

    Up front I don’t own a Tarsacci detector !

I’m just wondering if the Tarsacci is so hot on gold in heavy black sand and with the adjustment that can be made with it could it be a nugget detector ? I’d say the best coil would be something say a 10 X 6” coil are a small round one. I know just about any detector maybe can find a nugget every blue moon 🌚 but the Tarsacci may be playing in a different field that the average VLF detector.

I’d still say give me that smaller coil because I just maybe could be land locked. Not that I am .

Would any of you buy a 10X6” are a 9X5” coil if it

I’m still on the fence if I’ll buy the Tarsacci but I know one thing I got to get off this fence. I’ve been up here to long it’s starting to hurt 😢.

     Chuck

Chuck, you got more time on the Tarascci than I do and I own one.    Winter is just around the corner that fence is gonna have snow piled up on it again.        Just joshing ya.

  8. About ready to wind it up for the day.   Just to the right of a exit gate, thought I heard "Don't leave me ! Please don't leave me!"      Well had to go over and see what's up.    Up popped a year 2000 Sacagawea Dollar coin.    Not many of these around.     Anyway a nice ending for the day.

  9. This past winter it happened while hunting on the Gulf. Ole trusty Infinium wore out and got shipped to Garrett for a complete overall.     I mean knobs , case and who knows what else.    Little less than $160.  Round trip almost two weeks. Not bad.   While it was gone, my AT Pro did it best to fill in.   Also while it was being worked on I bought a Tarascci.    They both arrived on the same day.   Had a month left to hunt and the Infinium only got out once.     Got the Infinium in 2014, only use it three months out of the year at the beach.    What gold I've got down there was because of the Infinium.   I belt mount it keeping the coil tight as possible.   Lot less noise.    Now I'm wobbly, should  I sell it, go with the Tarascci or keep my ole friend.  Right now got nothing to lose by keeping it.    Tarascci is a grab it and go machine which is nice.

  10. Good write up with info.     The weight reminds me of a Chess piece.    I've found and believe I've read that the target  numbers change some depending on the  frec your using.    So like most machines it takes a lot of hunts under different conditions to understand.  (At least for me)

  11.     Never hunted the Tar in mud before so I was a little off balance at the start.    Oh, the machine was ok but I was switching from handling pull tabs & rusty bottle caps to can slaw and such.     I was getting sucked in early on digging more trash than I should've.   About a half hour of that I got back into the game , found out where the nickels are, by moving slower threw the junk.  I hunted in all metal ,disc -2.   Wasn't long ,was getting fairly decent at calling the targets before digging.  I dug maybe 5 or 6 coins around seven inches.   So a junk ring, couple of MatchBook cars, 59 coins , nine nickels for around $6.29 .    I'm not the slickest guy swinging a coil, and this site had the goods and there's plenty left.    Today ended up a dunk shot and sure was fun.

    Hey Dancer

I may have been swinging a detector longer than you are old but I don’t know a thing about the Tarsacci.  This is why I keep asking questions about it .

Remember the only stupid question is the one you don’t ask .

     The Best Dancer !

     Chuck

I know this Chuck. There are guys that can grab these more complex machines and then do more tricks than a Vagas card dealer.   I've been hunting since 2000, and I've had some good days and some not so good.   Right now I'm hunting a Vista X, a At Pro and the Tarascci.    Truthfully I've found a few things but never enough.     If it weren't for the forums I wouldn't know Diddly.

  13. You know when we're talking detectors, or guns, or cars. We all can get attached.   But, the gist I learned somewhere is that the hunter makes the machine.  Now a better  machine, gun or whatever can really help a guy out.    In the end it's how the machine in question is being used.    Another thing is when you pick something up, never used it before, but you just know  you like it.   Sometimes we have to remind ourselves that ,   everyone isn't going to pick that horse to win.     Myself I like to hunt an analog.   The Tarascci to me with its different tones along with it's screen is sort of a Hi Bred, or somewhat of a cross.   Now I'm getting into something I'm not qualified for.   So I'm stopping.

  14. Well , I'm not ready for another coil yet. And I've hunted the standard one hard since mid January. I can tell you this, the standard is so dead on I only pinpoint the deeper coins or one that escaped a hole.    My salt water times are over this year. But Dirt & lake hunting till next year.   Small coil shoot, I got one on old trusty.  But that's my situation.   If I'm still liking this machine in a couple of months I'll go big in time for next winter.  A guy gotta have an edge.

  15. Drag.    I hunted with the coil one day.      Salt surf / Sand.        Didn't take long, started feeling more weigh.  Coil filled up with sand.     This isn't just   a Tarascci thing either.     Now the covers on land,  not nearly as bad.

Prices ?   Like I told my wife.      It's why they call them checks.  Stimulus

  16.     Florida Gulf, fairly mild.    Machine running very quiet, not much noise even getting slapped around in the Surf. Dead areas bearly a peep.      Running in All M.  , my main disturbance comes from those rusty flakes.    The tone on them is usually low so it doesn't brother me much.    Especially cause I'm getting real nice depth, plus the machine is sensitive to small targets too. I'm having good luck on Silver and clad.  (When I find decent conditions)     No gold yet, but it's getting its share of nickels so I'm not worried about that.        My question is, if anyone can suggest how I can knock out some of this rusty scale without sacrificing gold.     I'll live with with this small problem before lessening my chances for gold.       Thanks for any help.

  17. Well, Sometimes funny things happen out there in the salt.   I think I like making the decision to dig not so much the machine.  I have read of and talked to a few who have walked away from a signal and went back and dug. And found a goody.    Other than that Chase, I'm not giving advice so much as relating what happened.

So I am confused? Are those ear rings gold of silver?

Junkers all.      The gold looking one came in at -02 to -04, shallow and it blasted.

Silver ones -14 shallow too.      The little Light house, was pretty deep , thought it was going to be a Tab. The All Metal reminds me of a strum across a violin.    Not bad at all.     Like always if you think your in the Zone, gotta go slow.    Picked off  a few real deep ones today with barely a click.

    1. Been running A M.  mostly here on the Gulf.   So much I don't even think about it.   Anyway today I met up with a good buddy on his second year with his Nox 600.   Following a good ways behind I hit a few low negative items. No matter How hard I squinted I couldn't make them gold /silver.       So I caught up to my pal, laid em on the sand. Hey check these with your Nox, see what ya think.      He says , Can't hear a thing !    What?  He's says he got nothing.    Ole buddy was starting to get a little sick.   Felt kinda bad.        Thought a minute.  I says , you in All Metal.     No in disc.      He switched it over.  All was good.    Just proves you never quit learning.        Around a buck eleven, out of a surf wash.
