Dude!! Thats an incredible story! So Glad you got your Aunts ring back to your mom. Thats gotta be karma, divine intervention, something like that. Wow!
-
Been trying to get my buddy Mark Dayton, to answer that. Dont know yet.

Nice write up. This cartel crap is out of hand around here too. ( NoCal). 6 people just got murdered in a house the other day, execution. I dont even like to hike around in the hills during grow season anymore. Be safe brother.

I have not ever had a problem yet Steve.

Well, that's a good first impression man. Do you think it handles your funky soil better? Or better with EMI? Or just too soon to tell? Looking forward to more of your post, as I think we hunt similar sites. I'm in no hurry for a Manicore at this point, everything is waterlogged here in NoCal at the moment.

Jeez! I can't imagine!! Congratulations!

Amazing. Mind blowing.
Can I ask how you cleaned your silver coins?
Best way I've found to get dirt off silver and gold coins...get a sonicator off of Amazon. They are cheap too. Only uses water. No scratches.

If I was updating the Deus 2 menus system I would throw the entire thing in the garbage and start over. It's a menu system designed by engineer nerds, not something designed for the average user. Yeah, it's all there, once you figure it out, but they sure are not making it easy. I wonder how many of us old dogs actually do just go back to whatever we had because the XP way is so convoluted? Maybe a sales impediment there and a note for the XP designers for the future.
Remember I posted, that I like simple detectors? Your comments are exactly why I still use the D1, and have not bought a D2. I want to detect, not program.

Hey Minelab
I will be retiring from roofing in couple years. I would make a GREAT rep. Just saying....

Amazing find. Here on the west coast, we can only dream of finding cobs. Our earliest European toe-holds only date to the 1770s, at the earliest. At which time it was milled coins by then, not cobs. I've heard of at least 2 cobs found here in CA. They're rare !
Didn't Jerry get one? Thought I remember him telling me

What a day!!

Fantastic! A cob coin is super high on my wish list. Congratulations!

So, I started detecting long before pinpointers were a thing and never thought there was a need for them. For the last several years I've been a beach/water hunter 99% of the time and felt even less need for a pinpointer. Yesterday I did a park hunt for the first time in a long time and tried the pinpointer that I had along. It was AMAZINGLY helpful but could also mean that my dirt hunting recovery skills aren't what they used to be. 🙂
I hear ya. It's not the pinpointing in the hole , that bugs me. If you see the video, you'll see what I mean. It's using the pinpointer in a pile a dirt...I just grab a clump of dirt, swing over the coil, reduce till targets in the hand.
-
Am I the only one, who doesn't play around with a damn pinpointer for 5 minutes, trying to locate a target? Watching guys do this, drives me nuts. 😄 I actually rarely use a pinpointer, and usually have my target in 1/10 the time.

Wow! I guess the people found it. If I were to snag one early, I'd be tempted to list it now. Strike while the iron is hot. Mine the miners. Haha.
No doubt man. Jeez.

This was a good video. I may be biased, but I prefer this since Mark and I hunt the same type of sites. Parks n beaches I can't connect with. Thanks for posting.

My motto is ' I don't always find treasure but I do find adventure'.. Looks like you 2 are the same.
Good site, love the trade items, screams western history. Heal up bud, get back out there.

Yeah, I remember you telling me you hunted them off HD road. I used to see them more than I do now. Been awhile.
Btw...if you still have contacts with the property owners out that way, there's some good history and gold out there. My best permission there I lost recently, guy passed away.
Wow Australia… Unbelievable Flooding In North Queensland, Wa And Many Other Places...

Does sound a bit like California buddy. And just like there, news gets nutty. Everything here, is due to the climate changing, or so they say. Not trying to be political . Of course, like you say, its been going on here forever...but that doesnt sell.
