  1. First of all thank you for your welcome! Talking about metal detecting here, law is a really big nightmare. In theory, targets which have more than 50 years are state property. Whatever you find underground is state property. This is the law here. Many times I asked myself how is possible to buy a metal detector here. In theory, when you find something you have 24 hours to deliver the object to the police. I’m not joking, it is crazy but this is. Obviously there are tons of target older than 50 years which have no historical importance. But there are many archeological areas from which you must stay away, we have to pay attention. But we’re in Italy and you can find everything everywhere. Years ago I found a medieval knife: I went to the Police and delivered it...but I didn’t know anything more. Probably that ancient knife didn’t have historical importance.. Don’t know. There are many contradictions in metal detecting law here. A lot of contradictions. You can find tons of Vittorio Emanuele II coins, which are from second part of 1800. If I find them I prefer to leave them underground! I live 100 km away from the sea...with a CTX I spent a whole winter on the beach and in water as well..
  2. There is a large area with red soil here in Tuscany, central Italy. Area where we have an intense mineralization, red dirt. Years ago I took this stone which I use to make some quick test at home. Hematite is an iron ore and that’s why I need pulse inductions too..
  3. You did well! I always watch detector tests videos from USA on the tube and noticed that nickle is a very used coin in depth test but also in iron masking ones. I’d like to arrange a Monte’s nail board and think i’ll use a 20 cent coin. I’ll keep you updated..
  4. Yes, you’re right. This morning I checked online size of a nickle which is 21,21mm (diameter) and 1,95 (thickness) while 50 euro cent coin is 24,25mm in diameter and 2,38 in thickness. Material of these coins is “nordic gold”, a type of brass. I always use that coin in tests like this but it maybe would be better with a 20 cent coin because it’s much similar to a nickle, talking about dimension..
  5. Translated online! 😄 In other european countries people bought D2 about 1 month ago. In Italy great majority of the french detector was delivered on 11-12 of January. Deus2 is my birthday and Christmas present. I’ll be happy to share with you..
  6. Made a quick depth test video some days ago. Sorry for the bad quality and for my poor english. First part is in italian and second part in english from 1:34. Soil is very low mineralized and put 50 euro cent coin on the bottom of a 14” hole. Deus 2 and 11” coil. It was the very first time I turned Deus 2 on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuHU4tTVSLI
  7. Thanks a lot guys! I have more machines and few days ago bought the D2. Have been using Deus 1 since many years and has always been my first choice . I enjoy myself testing machines in depth, separation and iron masking. Here in Italy we have to pay big attention and must stay away from archeological areas. Bye for now and thanks again for your kindness!
  8. Hello Guys, I’m Riccardo and write from Italy. Have been following this forum since years and love it. Have had many detectors but unfortunately can’t do prospecting because in this area there are no nuggets. Have had pulse inductions as well and that’s why I discovered this forum. Thanks for the opportunity to write in this great forum and to learn. Bye for now guys! Riccardo
