Been out a couple times with my new Nokta legend after returning the nox 900 I didn’t lie. Thought we were going to get an early start to the detecting season then we got 2 ft of snow Saturday.

Just got the Legend after returning the nox 900 that I hated because of its erratic operation. So far I’m liking the ferrous/nonferrous bars. Haven’t found much yet.

How many rattlesnakes have you run that detector over? lol

Had the nox 800 sold it and got the nox 900, I hated it and returned it to Kellyco, I could not stand the chattering and vdi numbers bouncing all over, may try the Garrett

Minelab said the detector and coils were fine, I took it and had the same problems. I ran the recovery speed and iron bias up and down and also used individual frequencies. It acted the same way chattering and vid signals were all over the place. Never has this problem with my nox 800. I returned the 900 back to Kellyco and debating whether to get another 800 or a nokta legend.

You have got a lot of equipment. I sold my nox 800 and got a 900 that did nothing but chatter so I sent it to minelab repair and they couldn’t find anything wrong with it or the coils and said don’t run ground balance on auto. It’s coming back today so if it does the same thing I’m returning it and getting something else.

Mine does the same I have sent it to detector repair and waiting to see if they find anything wrong with it, I also sent both coils

Having sent it in for a check up, I think it's on the way to recovery. Know it frustrating, but the 900 really is a good, smooth running detector. Good luck! HH jim tn thanks i hope so

good evening, I came across a post about an equinox 900 operating erratically. I just registered for the site but cannot find the post and was wondering if the person with the 900 ever got the problem fixed. I sold my 800 and upgraded to a 900 and it is constantly chattering picking up targets on every swing and the vdi numbers are all over the place. I tried everything but ended up sending it back less than a week after owning it. the repair shop now has it and i am waiting to see if they find anything wrong with it, i also sent both coils along with it. I never had any problems with my 800. I took the 900 to 5 sites (tot lots) I frequently went to with the 800 just to see what the 900 would do and it was going crazy at each site. frustrated as the ground is not completely frozen yet and wanted to get a couple more chances to use the 900 before it really snows hard. thanks for reading
