  1. I will add here that making changes to improve your recovery can be as simple as changing the sluice angle and/or water quantities, water speed is changed by the sluice angle.

So new mats may not be needed .... make the simple changes first before you start throwing more money at equipment or upgrades.

    Just some idle thoughts.

Is it worth me thinking of upgrading my Keene A52 to any of these funky moss mats, it's stock and the green matting on it seems incredibly good, It gets such tiny gold I have to use a wet finger to get it out of the pan afterwards, far too small for tweezers, specs you can barely see.

Test your tailings..... If you're losing a lot of gold then make some changes.... If not save yourself the time energy and money of upgrading.... Also NO setup will capture 100%... There will be losses. If you're capturing in the 90+% range you're doing good .. in you're testing find out what size of gold your losing, you then might think about adding a small section of sluice to deal with that.... Just some thought's ...

  3. Well it has been a while since I got to the beach so I thought I would get out a little and do a bit of cleanup on some gold I already had.

I went up to my little beach but only had a short time to work, also I was testing a little sluice to see if it would be a good sampler.

So for about 20 minutes total work from setup to take down and back to the truck I managed to pull this and verify the capabilities of the little test sluice. Now I ran about 3 gallons of sand and ran it way to fast but it was just a quick and dirty to see how things might work.

After cleanup I got this...    .34 grain.

I added it to the small bit I had and it came to 3.77 gram.

The summer is NOT the time to beach mine but I found a little spot that may have a little potential..... I will not be quitting my day job however.....

  4. Here is the response from the moderator and his response.....

So, whatever... I think they are still reeling a little from the MX Sport and the early problems they had with it's release.

The info you posted is "Dealer Only" and should not be released until 1 August. Some dealers and other sites don't honor the dealer agreement and "pre-announce" a new product. If something should change before the actual release date, it just causes problems.

    Thanks for understanding.

I am still a White's guy and I really don't visit their forum that much so no sweat, It doesn't change my opinion of their detectors. I will continue to own White's... They do what I need done and do it very well.         :whites:
