  1. Jin, I think it would be better to show an Xcoil opened up.  The soldier point might not be related at all to the GPZ14 soldier point.  I am surprised someone has not opened an Xcoil up yet, most people on here like to see how things tick.  Stoke Stoke ?

  2. Ah wasn’t thinking temps Andyy.  Its been in the 90s here still too hot but better than snow for me.

Yeah on a cool day and if your buddy would too.  Even though its an 8” to 10” and different tech I’m still curious.  If I was closer I’d help out with mine.

  3. I’m not looking at SDC being a competitor to the the Z, more as a compliment to it.  But the 10” coil for the Z has me wondering since if the SDC 11” is on par then way easier to go in first with the agile machine before bringing in the big guns (and cheaper if you already own a SDC).  I should state that i am not desert prospecting, if that was the case i would just swing the Z 14” and up.

  4. Marty I agree!  I like to use my SDC then go back in with the Z.  Its easier to move around with to clear the first 5-8”, then go back in with the Z (all geared up) and dig out the deeper stuff.

I have been trying to find videos or reviews on the coiltek coils without much luck.  There are a few, but it would be nice to have the exact same target at multiple depths for good standard tests of these coils and then the same comparison on the 10” Xcoils too.

  5. I have had about 9 people now send me offers .  I guess I will sell it.  I am going to allow a full day for anyone else to submit offers and or ask questions.  I will post this in the Classified section too.  Tomorrow (Tuesday) at 9PM Mountain time, I will PM the person with the highest offer, as I get PMs through out the day I will let others know what the exact highest offer is or let them know if they are currently the highest.  I do have to work, so have patience with my replies.  See the Classified for more details.

  6. Out of curiosity, are the Xcoils SuperD coils?  If not, wouldn’t that be part of the ZVT technology?  And if its not necessary to have a SuperD, could you explain the two techs and how they work together or don’t need to work together?  Could SuperD work on nonZVT detectors?  Are you getting where I am coming from?    After chatting with my friend just now they must be SuperD coils in order to work. (edited)

If there are refs for this already, just let me know and I’ll read those instead of having to write a lengthy explanation.

    Thanks JP!

  7. I would like to start a thread of peoples opinions on what they found between these two machines with various coils.  I love my SDC and have found my biggest and smallest gold with it (8”).  My GPZ has definitely gone deeper for gold (14”).  I am about even on the total count for each, weight a being different story.

I understand that if you only have one detector then you want coil options, but if you got both I wonder what would be a better bang for your buck?  A 10” Xcoil at $1000 or a 11”Coiltek at $310.  Thats if they compare at depth and sensitivity.

Norvic I would love for you to state your opinions here, you seem to have the most on thses just based on other posts.

  8. We need a comparison between the SDC 8” and the Z 10.”  Cause if they are similar it would make more sense to buy a used SDC for about $800 more.  Then you could turn around and sell it when or if Minelab releases a small coil, might be harder to resell an xcoil.  I need to do these things cause i cant afford to buy new all the time.  I need to resell and buy used to keep up.  So resell matters to me.  My two cents only.  Does anybody have a SDC and 10” xcoil to do this?

  9. Here in the USA I put many AZ pinstripes on all the trucks I rented.  No probs.  The rental guy told me the scratch has to be atleast 6” and go into the undercoat before charging.  If it does that they can’t buff out for resale.  The dust really showed them off good on those nice brand new trucks
