All up, only the front 3 are gold.
Haha! I sometimes wished, I'd find 3 in a whole year!

Just as a sidenote:
On my Equinox the pod is attached to the shaft with stainless screws and the pod itself is equipped with brass inserts.
I haven't seen any visable corrosion there, yet. On the other hand, the nickel plating of the headphone connector doesn't like saltwater all that much. I once didn't rinse it of and it got green quite quick. -

Consider this: does depth really matter in heavy trash?
I kept away from those areas with the 11" of course 😉
It's not like the whole beach was trashy - more like patches with exposed rocks, where all the stuff got caught. Tons of tent stakes etc.., but definitely good stuff, too. You "just" have to listen and go slow 😁 I'll take the small coil with me and look out, if there are still some patches. The weather is subpar atm. No hunting for 3 weeks I guess.

Awesome!
I always wanted to give the 9" a run on the hightly trash pulluted beach areas after the big storm last year, but I always ended up using the 11" in fear of missing the deep stuff. Now everything is sanded back in and I kind of regret I didn't try 🙄

Modern EMI sources like cellphones tend to generate broader spectrum noise, making them less easy to eliminate.
+ EMI sources can potentially emit harmonics, too - making it even more difficult to handle in MF mode.

If you refer to my video - yes, sure. But I'm still surprised, how good this simple setup actually works. The TX frequencies have a very low bandwidth by the way - I turned on smoothing to make them more visible on video. Without smoothing, there are just thin lines.
-
Diving mode uses a lot more low frequency energy - just saw that, when I fiddled around with my microphone frequency tests yesterday, while scrolling through the programs.
-
Some quick none-scientific testing using a simple dynamic microphone with an audio interface at 192kHz. What you see on the Laptop is the frequency range from 2-50kHz. Funny how some programs use the exact same TX frequencies and intensity, so there's definitely something going on at the RX side.
You can also see, Freq. Shift in MF mode shifts all "masters" simultaneously. -

Quick test with microphone on a mixing console - it really works quite good!
Have to redo it with an sound interface and proper software. Sounds like a sine-tone 😅

I don't know, if FMF shifts the frequencies excactly like Mono, but over all "masters" simultaneously - that has to be checked with an oscilloscope - don't have one atm. Perhaps it works with a microphone and audio analyser, too? 🤔
But I think now I get what you mean.. the Mono "masters" do not match the Max Freq. Settings in FMF.
Aka Mono "masters" are 5 – 7.5 – 13 – 17.6 – 25 – 32 – 40.5 kHz - but FMF Max Settings are 14, 24, 40kHz. -
Hm, from the pictures it looks like gold. Maybe soldered / repaired.
Silver plated or junker would have had an higher ID imho.Nice ring nevertheless!

If I take into account in mono 40 kHz with a 0 shift, I assume I am reaching about 32 kHz.
As Chase quoted from the manual, I think Shift 3 represents the selected "master" frequency. 32kHz Shift 3 = 32kHz, Shift 0 = 29,41 and Shift 6 = 35,32. 40,5kHz Shift 3 = 40,5kHz, Shift 0 = 36,36kHz, Shift 6 = 45,45kHz and so on...
As far as I remember, some russians analyzed the frequency spectrum with an oscilloscope somewhere on youtube.

I agree - Location is key for sure..
But sometimes you have to take what you got, I guess.
My beaches are located around a big bay.
Very few hotels, not big either.
No tides - if you're lucky, you have a big storm in wintertime, that takes away some sand on some beaches.
This has been the case in October and that's why I found so many old coins. Actually I found as many old coins in 3 months, as I did previously in ~4 years! The pulltabs come in at a very broad range on the D2. Many of our coins happen sit exactly in that range.. so you have to bite the bullet - no cash without trash 🙄
For me that‘s ok. It‘s not all about the money and gold - free your mind after having a hard day at work ☺️

well that's not exactly a full set of dentures
I attribute that to my lack of language knowledge 😬
We call it "bridge" over here. Found in the water - probably one of my top rare finds, ever. -
We had so much rain and snow the last couple weeks, the fields look like a seascape 🙄

Ok, this is the clad:
Sorted and counted:
Doesn’t look much - but what you see on those pictures are ~ 980 coins.. 445€ and 375DM -> ~ 690$
Some silver:
A little tiny bit of gold:
And the oldest coin I have found on the beach so far (1640):
Junkers, Clocks, Tokens, foreign coins etc. not show. That‘s from the same time range as the trash. I think I‘ve done pretty well for the winter season - we had one big storm taking away a lot of sand - thus all that old clad.

I kept the lead. ( I met this old guy that said he could turn it into gold , just had a couple more things to figure out.) I told him the scrap yard opens at 7:30 and gave him directions...
😂
I kept the usual things and the rest went into the dumpster, too.
I probably can't get 100% from the good stuff of that time range together, but I can take a photo of the coins and some jewelry, if anyone's interested.

Great hunt - I love those old buttons.

That's a lot of trash
Yep - it‘s really mind-boggling to see all that stuff on a pile from time to time. You can show your friends, that you don‘t only find good stuff and clean the beach.

I just keep forks, knives, spoons, keys for fun, the lead and some of the bling jewelry.
Never sold gold or silver.
Two ring returns so far from 24 as far as I remember. -

I had myself convinced a honking gold ring was hiding among the lead 🙂
That‘s the only way to get through it! 😃
You just never know..

Holy cow - Dan!!
You beat me on that one 🤠I didn‘t even find that much lead in 6 years. Ok, mainly dry sand hunting.. never the less - that‘s just a ridiculous amount!
I think I have a 10 liter bucket full - I‘ll put it on a scale some day.

What a nice ring, congrats!
New Style Remote Charging Plug

My detector came with that cable stock .. very flimsy imho - always in fear to break something 😀. I don't like the XP charging system on the D2 anyway.. and I often forget to screw the cap back on after charging, if I'm in a hurry.
