  1. Funny .. both of mine have „CF“ written on them. If they are the CF ones, I don‘t want to know, how wobbly the non-CF ones are 🥳

The detect-ed is definitely still an valid upgrade, if you‘re using the 11“ or 13“. With the 9“ coil the original CF feels like the detect-ed with the 11“.

  2. Only these:

The grip is not available atm in our shops. If I build a franken Deus for myself, I‘ll try to design a new all-in-one adapter with clamp for the RC.

These were ideas from my first hours with the deus.. got used to the shaft somehow, but still don‘t think it‘s a great design.

I also replaced the upper section of the stem with the carbon fibre/er stem from Nokta, designed for the Legend/Simplex - it fits perfectly.

I came up with the idea of mounting the D2 to the complete Nokta shaft - straight vs S.
The whole Nokta shaft built out of replacement parts is cheaper, than the upper original S shaft from XP.
A friend of mine did that conversion - worked out pretty well.. swings very Noxy 😅

  4. Interesting - I have to check my two original stems.. I'm at work atm, but I "think" one of them had something written on it... perhaps it's the one I have on the 9". Detect-ed's CF is permanently attached to the 11".

It was about tíme they change something!

  5. Congrats, that's a nice ring!

Biggest single stone I've found has ~0,35ct / 4,5mm and I only ever found 2 rings with a bigger stone over a course of 5 years and a LOT auf hours and holes on the beach.

I don’t post here often is that I’m embarrassed to show my finds compared to everyone else on the forum.

No need to be embarrassed - depending on where you're located etc., every find might be "valuable"!

My place in the world was discovered in 1606 by an English explorer, the 1607 coin I found was probably lost along with the belt buckle and a few buttons in an expedition not long after that. Unless someone brought some really old coins and dropped them, I will never find an older one 😀

That's a cool story! There are definitely older things to be found over here - but not so much in my area and especially not at the beach, I guess. Time to get on the fields again .. I need some permissions 🙄

The coin seems to be relatively rare, indeed. Currently there's one on Ebay located in Israel ?!, 2 in a german coin shop and that's about what I could find at first glance. Years ago there where some auctions, but not much further info.

    Awesome finds again

Just to be clear / honest: I do find a lot of trash on every hunt, too, which I don't always picture.. my little Pull-Tab-Assortment is growing again 🥸

Great hunt and best wishes for the coming Neujahr

Thank you, all the best to you!🎅🎄🥳

To be honest - inwardly I hoped it is older.. 😂
But considering where I am located and that I found it on the beach, makes it a special find anyway

Just found out, there has been a naval battle between the Danish and the Swede in 1644, just 6km away from where I've found the coin. Bingo!

I will be swinging the 11in coil real soon and I dont think I will take my 10x5in back to the beach its just too small

I think the 11" is the best choice - I've sold the 15", just too heavy for my type of hunting. Got the 9" for the Deus 2 and it feels like a toy on big beaches 😄 But it has its benefits. Didn't use it much so far, it worked quite well on trash infested beach areas. 10x5 would be nice separation-wise - I'd probably ditch the 9" for it, if they make one some day.

  9. Yesterday I went to my presumably last hunt before christmas.
I didn't have much time, it was raining and stormy, so I've choosen a nearby beach.. no hope in finding anything really.

Turned out to get a relatively decent hunt. 1,20€, 14 DM, one super thin 925 ring, one 925 earring..:

.. and a real stunner (at least for me 😄 : 2 Skilling (silver), Christan IV from ~1640

~400 years, just lying and hiding in between modern trash and a 1 DM coin.
Still super thrilled about that find!

The Tone Bin volumes for both were set at “0” up to the VDI of 38.

That will be the main reason you've missed presumably small stuff. There will be a lot of trash in that range, but some good things hide in those lower numbers ☺️

  11. As already said: definitely take photos or scan it before you try to remove it!

Warm water could work. As for chemicals, don't use acetone. Isopropyl alcohol is least destructive I'd say, followed by cleaning solvent (benzine / naphtha?). Lemon oil / juice as a natural alternative..

Mechanically I often use guitar picks.. dunlop nylon 0.6, 0.73, 0.88 or 1 mm. They have a relatively sharp edge, but do not scratch anything. They also work great for opening all sorts of cases.

  12. I sold my 15"..

    Pros:
    - it is very sensitive to even small targets (I credit that to MF)
    - it covers more ground
    - it goes a little bit deeper

    Cons:
    - it is noticeably heavier, even with CF shaft
    - you have to extend the shaft, otherwise it picks up your shoes. Extending the shaft makes the weight feel even worse
    - you have to lower the recovery speed and walk a little bit slower
    - it's harder to get the coil parallel on uneven ground
    - unusable in the water due to drag

While I really liked the coil, the Cons outweighed the Pros. It felt like I've covered as much ground with the 11" in the same time, but with less fatigue. I detect a lot of dry sand, which is often uneven - doesn't make fun with the 15". It really works well on flat beaches (after a storm, or if you have tides).

  13. On the beach I use Square all the time with Audio Filter 1. Sounds very minelabbish, which is what I personally like. While it seems to contain the least audio information, there are still subtle differences preceptible. Foil f.e. sounds very smooth and round, as where rings and massive objects give a distinctive "plopp" at the beginning. Very big targets give a super loud tone. With High Square, the tone changed too much with difference in depth, for my personal sense. I can imagine PWM + pitch + fine tuned notch is going to work better in iron. Will give that a try, if i get on the fields again.
