  1. Gridding an old patch as usual with my GPZ 7000 the other day here in the sunny Arizona desert, I had to smile as the WM12 wireless module suddenly emitted a mellow, warbly signal. Typically heralding a deep, reasonable chunk of gold, this type of signal always gets me excited. The target was out of the ground after digging over a foot into the highly mineralized red soil-a beautiful 28 grammer! Several smaller nuggets were found within a 4 square foot area, for a total of 35 grams for the day - a rare occurrence these days. The grand total for this winters prospecting season is now up to 6.5 ounces; my goal was to hit 6, and with nearly 2 more months to go before heading back home in May it's definitely my second best season ever...so far. ?

    Good luck out there!

  2. Thanks guys...

Boulder dash: the Zed is extremely awesome.

Mitchel:  I mainly detect old worked out nugget patches and so require a detector that responds to more sizes and types of gold nuggets deeper than any detectors used on those patches in the past. Right now that machine is the Minelab GPZ 7000, and I must say the results speak for themselves...the Zed is a keeper in my book.  If that makes me a "Zed-waving elitist", then by the gods that's what I am and damn proud of it, too.?

Beatup: I know the feeling; I have to be back to work the first of May.

Rick: As soon as it warms up a bit, I'll be there!

  3. The mighty Zed responded with a faint signal through the wireless speaker this afternoon as I passed the coil over some large surface rocks. The bench gravels had been thoroughly detected in the past, but this nuggets hiding place was finally lit up by the power of ZVT. The water-worn, watermelon seed nugget, my 200th found from the Quartzsite regional placer area this winter,  brings the grand total to 4 ounces.  Good luck out there!

  4. Having known Ron for many years, I can certainly vouch for his sincerity and genuine effort to contribute to the knowledge base that makes this such a great forum. He has a wealth of experience to share with those eager to learn about our fantastic hobby. I for one am proud to call him a friend and have the privilege of serving with him on Team Nugget Busters for Gerry's Detectors, one of the best detector dealers on the planet. Anyone can check Gerry's track record and see that he is one of the highest volume dealers, second to none in customer service, and the fact that he doesn't even advertise in any of the gold magazines itself should speak volumes. Sorry Steve, but I just had to get my blatant plug in there!
