  1. My Coiltek 10''x5'' coil has finally arrived, not been out detecting with it yet,but have tried it quickly on my test site and well pleased with it and gut feeling tells me this will also stay on my Equinox all the time as well, its the coil that i have been waiting for,not sure why i have not bought one before.

Thanks again for all the input and will give a indepth report later on after the crops come off....thanks again

  2. Good morning Folks, just bought a Coiltek 10''x5'' coil for the Nox,always have liked elliptical coils,so i have grabbed the opportunity and bought one, have never liked the stock coil and mainly have used the 6'' coil......my way of thinking the 10x5 coil will fit right in the middle between the stock coil and the 6'' one......mainly detect ploughed and rolled ground and also occasionally pasture albeit its not really the ideal coil for pasture, but it wont be long before its harvest time here in the UK so that could well be a good time to use this new coil.

What are folks opinions on this Coiltek 10''x5'' coil i hope they are good and i have not wasted my money.

    Many thanks

  3. A very nice find for sure, like yourself the identity of the ring is a bit of a mysterious one for sure....in theory as it has no hall marks it should be old but not always the case as it could have been a special commission, also older rings like posy or for nobility would and usually have a inscription inside but that is not the case here.....is it medieval ?? pure gut feeling is telling me no as it looks like a modernist design.

It will be interesting to hear back from the FLO and see what they say about it,it certainly is a fabulous find and well done on connecting your detector with it and saving it.I seriously hope its a very old ring but gut feeling tells me otherwise.

  4. In 'theory' a very good idea, but how many twin boxes units are sold around the world as it is a specialised piece of equipment, they do what they are supposed to do and not your everyday type of detector so my personal opinion is they may have not as many sales as what they think they will get......this add on twin coil set up on top of the original high cost of buying a Deus2 has to be a crazy amount over say a normal Deus 9'' or 11'' coil,so they will sell some but certainly not in high volumes.......not for me alas i will stick with my Fisher TW-5 twin box which i brought almost new for sub £200 that will do the same as this new Deus hoard coil.

  5. Still own my DFX that was in the 1st batch that came here in the UK,wont ever part with this machine has done me proud over the years, also have a decent condition IDX Pro but dont use it as much as i thought i would and then my as new off the production line TDI Pro these are getting harder to find these days and still in my opinion terrific Pulse machines.....although i still own these Whites machines and also alot more modern machines still my all time favourite detector is my original green T2 that has found me more gold and silver milled and hammered coins than all my other machines put together.

  6. The main thing is as long as you are happy with this new wonder machine and it works for you and you are Happy spending that amount of money then that is the main thing, but everyone else on this forum knows different and that is why they wont be buying one.

Good luck and hope you find the Holy Grail of finds.

  7. In theory it sounds interesting, but in reality would not be the best way forward as single freq machines are not the best option for wet beach sand,so in my mind it would be a total waste of time....the best way forward if you want to do your own coils would surely do a PI kit which can be purchased pretty cheap infact very cheap and then make the coil which is pretty easy and alot easier than VLF coil designs.

All ready that has been suggested is the Geotech1 forum, some serious electronic boffins on that forum, regarding the Gold Bug2 i personally think it would be a total waste of time going down that route.

  8. A very interesting piece of kit from the advert Blurb,i am very very sceptical about all these claims,it may do exactly what it says on the tin,and i seriously hope it does for you because of the massive outlay.

I am trying to be very diplomatic about this,if as the advert states it will find amazing treasures and also at amazing depths etc,why dont you see normal everyday folks using them and finding the Holy Grail of finds, thats a easy answer they dont work that good as if they had been good they would become a best seller almost over night irrespective of the high price.

Hope that you do find out how to get the best out of this machine but i seriously think you will struggle, just hope that i am wrong and you are right.

  9. As i all ready had the ML 15x12 coil i could see no reason to buy the CT one as basically i would be doubling up and also heavier into the bargain,so glad that i did not purchase the 15'' round coil.

Must admit although i have had my Nox for may be 4 years or so,have never really liked it,it just does not do anything for me,although i wont sell it as it could come in handy for the odd days beach detecting etc,but decided to put the 15x12 ML coil back on it and run it in 4khz for when i am on pasture sites and i get a gut a gut feeling that items could be slighly deeper and also the ground coverage especially when i am on a club dig and we only have say 8 hours to hit the site then that is when the larger coil earns its keep.

  10. Folks i have had my Nox a for maybe 4 years,i rarely use it if i am honest, but one that i have still not fathomed out yet is what difference does the 1 khz do on the frequencies ??

I am totally aware that lower freq's go deeper and the Nox originally came with the 5khz as the lowest freq and when coupled with the larger 15x12 that would give you greater depth, but when the update was available the lower freq was reduced to 4khz which i installed that update, but still cannot fathom out why or how just 1 khz can make a massive difference or am i missing something here.

As i dont use this detector as a everday machine,i am plan on using it with the 15x12 coil for deeper larger artefacts.

I´m waiting for the Compadre too, to modified, i want to be able to switch coils.

I brought my Compadre Control box almost brand new and that had just had the 5 pin connector conversion and the price was crazy low so snapped that up about 5 years back, mounted it on a spare Tesoro shaft and added the 4'' concentric coil to it,not a great amount of depth with that coil but its target separation and getting around tight spaces what this combination is all about.....must admit its getting used less and less this coil as i am using the 5'' coil on my T2 for the same type of use but its alot deeper.

    Amazing, didn´t know there is a 4" concentric coil...😲

Where can i find the 4" concentric search coil 5 pin?

As Tesoro has been closed for a few years,i would say that dealers who had them in stock have or nearly sold out, best bet would be do a search for one on Ebay as that would be about your best bet.I still use mine but not as a everyday coil more of a specific use coil and it basically stays on my Compadre which i had converted to a 5 min detachable coil rather than a hard wired one, also these small 4'' coil can make decent pinpointers as well on a cut down shaft.
