Agree with you I think the 1.11 will most likely be the last update but I do not want it completely locked so they can't do bug fixes, which I feel there are a couple bugs that need fixed my hopes are they finally fix those bugs with the 1.11
I will also agree that Nokta's first swing with SMF they knocked it out of the park, leaves you thinking if they can build a detector like the legend on the first try at SMF what does the future detectors they can build going to be, like the PI they are working on
And (IYO) what are those "couple of bugs that need fixed"?----Just curious.

You will be pleasantly surprised ๐ย I have hunted a few times with it and my current opinion is that it's more accurate but has less depth, especially in fields with high grass (for hay).ย
To do a honest comparison, I'm going to use the LG28 again next weekend on the same type of field. I'll keep you posted.
HerrUU-----When you hunted with the LG24---was you in version/update 1.09 or 1.10 on the Legend?

Of course that is the case, but lessons learned from the Nox still applied in Manticore development. The 700/900 are Nox updates, the Manticore intended as an E-TRAC replacement.
The one I am waiting for----the CTX replacement!-----What must it going to be like--it has to be coming!

That, and to the best of memory, the only significant software issue, was with falsing in some salt conditions. That was fixed up really fast. The other updates were mainly user requests.
The only hardware issue is the speaker, but Nokta got right on that by getting a new speaker supplier.Good point----I do think most of the Legend updates were provided because of user requests---but---we (John Q Public) were the "testers". ๐----I see an individual just recently had a speaker problem---but perhaps he purchased one of the earlier releases.

I don't think so, while other brands such as First Texas have certainly used buyers as beta testers the Manticore seems a finished product to me, all modern detectors will get firmware upgrades to fix issues found once out in the public domain, look at the Legend, fix after fix for it's firmware, hardware issues too with a bad brand of speaker prone to failure used in the first released detectors.ย ย It happens....ย although some might argue the Legend was rushed toย market not ready for release.
I'm sure many old detectors from the 90's and 2000's could have been improved a lot after release too, the facility just wasn't there with USB updating.ย
Overall so far I'm very happy with my Manticore.
At least with the legend---Nokta brought out updates to "fix" problems as they were discovered.-----Without "sitting" onย known problem areas for SIX YEARS----can we say Equinox!-----With the Manticore---who knows?---It's too early to tell.

ABSOLUTELY---Yes they are George!-----Give it 6 to 12 months (before purchasing one).ย ย My opinion only.----------Del

You are all terrible people. Following this thread, and reading all this good information now has me thinking of buying one of these detectors. Bad, bad, bad.
I was forced to read a little more on the D2/D1 as well. The settings and control of parameters these freakin things are capable of is enough to make a man drool. I drool enough as it is.
Soon I will need a caddy to carry my detectors like a golfer.
Sorry we led you down this dark road Geezer!-----Hey----get a D2 & Legend---that's all yah need----WHOA---did I say that! LOL

I don't think you can go wrong with the 900 but selfishly speaking I was hoping that you would get a Manticore.ย Reason?ย You are right, it does seem to be all over the place but I think a lot of that is due to the number of testers all competing to be the go to guy for knowing the detector.ย Having a Manticore in the hands of a a "cagey veteran" like you (noticed how I didn't say "old?") would bring a sensibility to the rather wacky dialogue surrounding the detector.
But with that being said, I will be curious as to your thoughts on the 900.
Bill (S< CA)
Geoge will get to the bottomof the 900!!! (notice I didn't say old either) ๐

Would agree with you.----From what I've seen so far I'm definitely on the "wait & see" list.
