  1. Good question. Still learning. Sometimes spot on. Other times inexplicably off. Guess I need to pay closer attention. Fortunately, I was in the woods and not someone’s yard.
  2. One other thing. Concerning the weight, I never had to rest because of a tired arm/shoulder. That's saying something when you are 61.
  3. Disclaimer: I didn't go to a site that had been beaten to death by me for 40 years. That's typically how I try out a new machine or coil. But I had just gotten a new permission that I was eager to hunt. I swung the 11x13 for two days and loved it. When the farmer came by the truck and saw the relics, he said, "As many people as have hunted this place for so many years, I just don't see how stuff keeps getting found." So, while I haven't hunted the site, it has been hunted. Pictured are my finds for the two days. Dug several large artillery fragments also. I just know there is a shell in there. I did minor tweaks on DHC such as decreasing reactivity and silencer for the mild soil with little trash.
  4. Got my new Manticore Wednesday and headed immediately south to hunt a new Civil War permission. Cranked it up and headed out. Went about 20 yards and returned to the truck. It was a new permission. I decided I didn’t want to begin a new permission with an unfamiliar detector. I headed out instead with my D2 with the 11x13” coil. And never put it down. Across 2 days, I dug 100 bullets, several artillery fragments and sabot pieces (I know there’s a complete shell there), and various other relics. I said to myself, “I have 2 D2 remote controls and 2 coils that I know and love. Do I really want this Manticore right now?” So after not digging a target with it, I am leaning toward passing it on to someone else.
  5. Out for delivery!! It should arrive any moment now. I leave later this afternoon for a permission I have sought for a decade.
  6. I’m still waiting. Leaving this evening for a 2 day relic hunt. Sure was hoping to break it in.
  7. FedEx was supposed to deliver mine yesterday, but it’s been stuck in Fort Worth for 3 days . Hopefully, you’ll have better luck.
  8. Dug today. Has some heft. Not sure if it's copper or brass. Rang up at 85 on the Deus 2.
  9. That’s tough. Sorry to hear. No creature on earth as companionable and loyal as a dog.
  10. I asked Tom D why the rollout is so slow. His response: "Most of the parts that make up the Manticore..... are easy to acquire. A couple of the components are S L O W to procure. {{{Contradicting: vender 'promises'}}} One of these (slow) components.....we think we have fully remedied. The other (slow) component......... we are (fairly-rapidly) resolving."
  11. That’s what I thought. Will order the 11x13. Thanks.
  12. I have a Deus II with the 9" coil. Love it. I have owned light machines (Troy X2 and X5 for example), but this one is the king of all day swinging. And what power they pack into that tiny package! Anyway, I want to add a larger coil? Do I get the 11 or the 11x13? I am leaning toward the latter as it doesn't weight that much more than the 11 and provides 2" more coverage. Am I right?
  13. So far, I've only been able to find one video with the Axiom on CW hunting, and that was the one put out by Aquachigger. Unfortunately, for the most part, he only turned the video on after he had recovered the item. That does me no good in understanding he capabilities or sounds of the detector. Occasionally, he would say that was a deep bullet. How deep? The best that can be said is that he did find several relics in a previously pounded spot. If you have CW hunted with the Axiom, tell us about it.
  14. That 15” DD ultimate spiral is a beast on the GPX for relic hunting.
  15. On two different computers now, I‘be gotten the message “USB Device not Recognized” when I plug my RC and WS6 into USB. Nothing else I plug in gives that message. I’ve googled until my eyes hurt to no avail. I’ve installed and uninstalled and reinstalled the update software. I’ve followed the directions step by step. Is anyone else having this problem? Has anyone remedied it? If so, how? I finally did do the update by sigNing up for a free trial of parallels on my Mac. It ran Windows and I updated my Deus fine. I then uninstalled parallels and Windows. Don’t know how many times they will let me do that. I either want XP to offer their software update for Mac or I want to fix this USB problem. Any pointers?
