I don't know how rich it is but I know that one spot is LOL. The guy that has it leased is out there taking samples from time to time while waiting for the plan to be approved. He carries a 45. So if you are reading this and are the guy stealing gold all I can say is beware.

Why should he beware?  Will he commit murder?  He better have a good self-defense story being not in his home.  This is what cracks me up all the time about people carrying a gun thinking they’re going to shoot someone when they’re on their claim. Gimme a break, I doubt someone is going to commit murder and spend their life in jail over gold dust and if they do they better know the consequences.  Even if he doesn’t shoot but points a gun at them, the cops will come pretty quickly to that and it won’t be the claim jumpers getting in trouble.

Yes, I know, but also love the thought of a freebie  😉

    I should add 2 things.

    1)  I have had no issues with any of the the 3 GPX 6000 coils that I have except that a few people's comments about the EMI picking up when the 11" coil is 'off axis' has pricked up my ears as I do find this happens with mine.  Aureous's comments about working the coil on angles does ring true with some of my experiences.  I simply thought this was part and parcel of a very sensitive detector.

    2) Due to the 'off axis' comments I wonder if a non-ML coil might improve things in this area and even allow higher Sensitivity settings.   If that can be done, then I suppose it is a question of what is different in the build between the coils.  The shielding, the type of winding, something not yet mentioned?

Given it is only a potential improvement for me, I won't be racing out to purchase one of the non-ML's as what I have is still  serving me well.  Will be watching with interest though.   Especially waiting for news on an approx 6" X 10" DD coil. Coiltek?

I am here too.  Did not realize the off axis might be a coil issue and thought it was just picking up errant emi.

What I don’t want to lose is sensitivity or depth compared to the 11”.  Anyone do any good ole comparison tests yet?

It's quite possible I've had myself a problem with detector and coil!   I should have just sent the entire unit back at the start for replacement.  It normally goes wild every 5 to 15 minutes and I'm noise cancelling multiple times or doing a factory reset trying to fix it.

Very happy!   Looking good so far!   I really hope my woes are over!

    Thank you Coiltek!

    Wait, what?

It sounds like a coil problem but you say your testing shows both detector and coil problem?  Not understanding, you might have miss spoke in your above post?

Next person who tells me it’s just the effing FLU is going to get a JP style ground balancing!!! 😡

Yeah all the people that are like “oh I probably already had it but just didn’t know,” I am like, “No, no you didn’t.  You can tell yourself that though to make yourself feel better” 🤣🤣🤣

yes, that's something I wasn't factoring in as I've not had it but I can imagine the effects on a workforce and it causing inconsistency in build quality for the man made and assembled parts of the detector.  I'm not sure how things go in Malaysia and if people would fake they don't have it to go to work if they needed the money and don't get enough sick leave time or something or go back to work too early at least and with this brain fog I've heard people talk about anything could happen.

The paint was just a demonstration of something that is so simple that could explain inconsistencies quite easily, there are likely others too.

You know dang well they don’t get Sick Leave and definitely need the money to support their families.  Most people in the world do.  But for cheap labor it all pays the same no mater what comes off the line.

Knowing this Minelab could change where and how their products are produced but my guess is with cheap production with offset of warranty replacements, they still making money hand over fist.  It would not surprise me if the warranty period drops on newer products.  Similar to what new cars have done over the years.

Now that being said.  I love my GPX6k!  It has found the most and biggest gold yet for me!  Knock on wood, no problems yet, except a squeaky shaft which gets annoying every time you swing.  Ironically my buddies 6 came out of the same box (they come in twos) and his headphones won’t charge and his handle started to come loose.

  6. If you ever had Covid and still had to work with it or its after effects, the QA/QC will not be there.  I can only imagine now that this is the case for many things that were produced over the last couple years and will continue.  I finally got Covid this past week and if this is mild Covid I can not imagine what it was like before.  I can tell you for certain that if I was in a factory with this I would not give 2 shits what comes out and would just want to lay down and rest my body and brain.  The brain fog is terrible and the forgetfulness is disturbing, let alone the other flu/cold like symptoms.

  7. GR Guy.  Do you have the info to put a list together of gold size vs depth for each coil you used?  We all know that smaller coils are gonna lose depth but I would just like to know how much people are experiencing. I really could use a smaller coil but it isn’t going to be much use if the depth is not there either. Too much loam in my areas! 🤣

Yeah that saying is different here LOL.  We say “EXCUSES are like assholes, everybody has one, and they all stink”

    Not Opinions.

  9. I cant believe there is not a way to jailbreak the machine to bypass the chip.  There has to be some programmer out here that can figure this out.  The machines have usb ports for updates.  I mean iphones are jailbroken all the time to use unauthorized apps.  If u can mod an iphone u should be able to mod a detector, especially if camera shops are fixing them, looking at you phrunt 😁.
