The bottlecap reject on The Legend has me a bit befuddled.  On shallow caps, even at 0, the caps read wacky and have a different sound.  However, at depth, even at a max of 8, they still read and sound good.  The Equinox and the Apex (with its iron audio) are vastly superior to The Legend at id'ing bottlecaps at depth.  I have to play more with this but as of now I'm digging way too many bottle caps.

If that Legend gets to the beach, I will consult to you Bill on some initial settings. Bottle caps is one item I never worry about.  It will be all about gold testing in the wet sand [especially chains] and how the detector handles the transition from wet sand to water. If it all works out, we should have the Nox 800 and 900. Deus2, Manticore and Legend!  Buckle>UP!

Yes I’ve been reading such content with google.  I don’t understand what protection there really is and haven’t come across anyone using it.

I guess no one takes a chance with it - and sellers can get scammed too.

Your protection would be your credit card too.

Sure but I want to know if the ads are legit or not - if OfferUp is legit or not. I have other interests besides detecting and buy stuff like camera lenses and music instruments from people.such ads if bogus do not exist on eBay long. They stay on OfferUp for months.

    From google:

OfferUp is a legitimate platform, but all sellers on it are third-party providers, which means the platform is not responsible for any transaction that happens off-site after connecting to the app. Consider buying from (and selling to) verified OfferUp profiles to reduce scams.

Unfortunately, you are probably right but another option may be for me to say, "No thanks, I'll will buy a brand-new, waterproof Nokta for that price."

You may be disappointed in small gold chain performance with that Nokta.
While I have not tested one, I can say my D2 would have struggled with a chain like that. The Equinox and Manticore are the best chain killers out there.

They reminded me that my detector is no longer under warranty so we will see what my options will be.

You only option will be an offer for a new pod at about $400 bucks.

VERY impressed with that small gold chain!!!! Nice Work!

Thank you!.... Thats just what Im in need of after being off the D2 for a year now.

Got it. I thought I had read you were using it on the beach.🤷‍♂️

Beach sensitive is a clear winner of the beach programs for gold chains. If you are going to use a program out of beach modes make sure you are not handicapping your ability to find gold chains

saved it to that program and for half the hunt I used it. Noticed Chase was finding a lot more stuff than me, so I turned it off and I started finding stuff everywhere in the dry. 🤔

Full disclosure, I never hunt the dry sand unless asked to find something. 100% wet sand/water contact.

Here's my observation; I found that audio response causes the detector to make a lot of extraneous noise if auto tracking is turned off. Turned it down from 5 to 3 and it got a lot better! It ran really quiet most of the time until I got over some black sand

I am not sure why that would be. As a dedicated beach hunter, I run tracking GB with EVERY detector I use.

The key to beach success is doing depth testing on your location with gold. I fear turning audio response down has a severe negative effect.
Also, if you have pockets of black sand [like I do] without question you are losing performance if not using tracking GB.
