  1. I can just imagine the Deus in stubble compared to the Anfibio. But I don't have to because i tried it. The Deus bounces off of stubble like a pinball machine going for a record score. Lol... End all be all my arse!
  2. Yeah well i have to disagree with that statement.
  3. I test drove a Deus yesterday and found that there is not a way to adjust the volume of the individual tones. The user cannot apply audio dynamism to the machine. That unless I am mistaken (could not find it in the manual) is an omission of flexibility that does not compare favorably to the Anfibio. The Legend retains this positive feature from the Anfibio. If the Deus is a tonal nuance machine but only allows adjustment to the iron volume sans other tones this may be why some user claim it takes years to learn the tonal nuances. On the other hand the XPD2 may not be the end all and be all machine if you can only receive a flat volume level response from all tone segments except iron.
  4. Note this retailer also offers the Note the Orx package can come with the wireless headphones, and a choice of coils including HF for the same $650. So that changes the math a little bit depending on configuration
  5. I know this an old thread but price point is relative to the current environment for this interesting old discussion where a new Deus can be had with a MI 6 pin pointer, X35 coil, and wired headphones for $950. That is $950 out the door with free shipping and no tax from the big boys (no affiliation). The same set up Orx wise sans pin pointer is available for $650. If you add a pin pointer to the Orx that comes up to $810. Is a Deus is $140-$300 better than an Orx today?
  6. Another thing I like about the MK and Anfibio is the coil selection. My best finds have all been with smaller than the stock search coils, from the 9" concentric down to the 5". If the company would fix the built in iron overload discrimination, those coils might show what else the machines are capable of.
  7. I use the Anfibio, the Multikruzer and the Simplex. I like the Anfibio best due to the tone volume control, but the MK and Simplex have found silver for me. I wish i had started detecting some 40 years ago when offered the opportunity by a friends dad. There are no easy sites available on my to do list. I did get very lucky with the Anfibio pretty darn quick but that site is 7 hours away and has been stingy since i just happened to put my coil in the right place, under a dig everything approach. My silver count for 2021 was 7 coins, but hey i got on the board for 2022 with a little piece of gold jewelry today. My goals for 2022? 50 pieces of silver, 5 old west relics, and a gold ring. I feel self conscious about posting pics and a little bit leery of it.
  8. What we call the Panhandle now a days, or the Golden Spread. You know the western skies, the wide open spaces, the be there by morning destination. I was a meager lurker now i am a meager member. Very informative forum. Howdy.
