  1. I also hunt kiddie splash pool areas. So far that produced a .9999 gold, and a .51ct diamond ring. Other pool areas produced an old gold w/ruby and black hills gold. Good areas. I still haven’t been able to talk my way into any of the public pools in the area. No one will let me carry my detector in when I buy a ticket either. On this sled hill the rings were all over the place. I spent the first day working the itty bitty kiddie hill and landing area (left side in the photo). Those rings were in the landing area. Day two I hit the extended landing area and the base of the big hill. The men’s white gold ring and Versace medal were at the very base of the hill. Nothing in the landing area. Day three I spent at the apex of the hill. The six junk rings came from the 90’ x 20’ apex. The little 1/4 acre park behind the apex produced 60 quarters in under 90 minutes (no rings). Day four I worked the bottom half of the slope. The gold ring with stones was mid slope. The silver ring was just above the base and had been hit by the aerator. The last day I worked the upper slope and only found one junker. In the past two years I’ve found four gold rings (two with stones) on other sled hills. Three were at the base or in the landing area. One was on the slope. I really can’t see any pattern that might help pinpoint specific areas to hunt. I will note that there were fewer rings on the big slope than I thought there would be. The number of rings at the apex launching area surprised me. Your comment about the adult waiting area is right on the mark. I hadn’t thought about that. thanks for your interest. I hope you get to hunt a few tubing hills. They can be a lot of fun, and a challenge to walk the slopes. Happy Hunting!
  2. I don’t post much, but I thought this might be interesting. The weather has been beautiful the past week, so I hit up an elementary school and a snow sledding hill across town and found a total of 21 rings including three gold, three .925 and fifteen junkers. As pictured. On Saturday the school gave up six rings, including a 2.3 gram 10k, one .925, and four junkers. Someone had cleaned out most of the high tones, but left the copper pennies. That’s where the silver leaf ring was, in the Pennie’s. The top row is from the school Sunday I scouted a small snow sledding hill nicknamed “suicide hill.” Lots of injuries from stupid behavior, like six kids crashing a kayak on the hill resulting in a broken leg. Duh. During the summer kids ride 20 pound blocks of ice down the hill. Sounds like some of the stuff we did growing up in the 50s! Anyway, I hunted the hill and little quarter acre park on top Monday thru Friday and did really well. I don’t believe it had ever been hunted. Rows two thru six are the rings found each day. Monday brought a silver ctr ring and a broken silver earring. Tuesday gave up a 6.25 gram 10k white gold men’s ring and a Versace medallion. Wednesday was all junk. Thursday gave up the 2.8 gram 10k with the brilliant stone flowers, a .925. And by Friday, I finished gridding the hill itself and called it quits with one last junker. i still need to have a jeweler look at the flower stone ring before my wife claims it. Clad count for the five days was $49.30. Wednesday produced $15 in quarters from the apex of the hill along with the six junk rings. This was an unusual week. With clad counts dwindling, I have been focusing more on mid-tones and lower in my daily 2 1/2 hour hunts. I’m at 60+ rings for the year (4 gold, 12 silver), but only $150 in clad. I feel like I’m digging fossil coins. Good sites are rare but still out there. Happy Hunting to you. ”J”
  3. jCR, potatoes are less than a dollar a pound, the hunt is worth more than that!
  4. So does that mean you are looking into being a dealer for this machine?
  5. Thanks for the comments guys. My wife is picky, but I think she’ll like this one. of the thousand+ rings I’ve found since 2015, she’s only wanted a couple of dozen. This ring is the best of 2023 for me. she wears a lot of rings to work..
  6. Hi all, I know I’m currently listed as a lurker here, but I had to reregister awhile back. So, here I am with the best find of the year and I have to follow Gerry. Geez… a regular guy don’t stand a chance. The reason I don’t post here often is that I’m embarrassed to show my finds compared to everyone else on the forum. Especially Gerry! i found gold ring #6 for the year. 7.4 grams of 14k with a 5.5mm stone identified by a jeweler as a diamond just under 3/4 carat. It’s the biggest single diamond stone I’ve found. No inscription, marked 14k, almost index finger deep, 15 on the NOX, dirt fishing an itty-bitty kiddie snow sled hill. The second gold from that park hill this year. Keep on sledding’ kiddies! Anyway. Merry Christmas Dear!! J from Sandy, sorry, I don’t take photos any better than I make computers work.
  7. KNEEPRO III. articulated, hard shell, comfortable all day. Stops puncture weed(goats head) cheatgrass, prickly pear, sharp rocks and grass stains. the ones pictured are 10 years old and have thousands of hours on them. Though I’ve had to replace the elastic straps a few times. google it. It’s a little company out of Idaho, and they are one of those forever products that work.
  8. I have to reply to this topic… I got one of the first batch of MX Sport that Gerry got in. After a couple of weeks I could tell it wasn’t working right. Gerry even warned me about it. Whites ended up replacing that detector three times and the 13” coil five times in two years. I have no idea what I missed when the unit was working poorly. Even then it paid for itself in clad multiple times in two years, plus the gold and silver. But I still regret not listening to Gerry and getting rid of the unit when I could. It was a pain in the butt. Then the NOX showed up, and everything else is history.
  9. I hope you will have a special edition of your book published in SoftBank for this forum. Hopefully with a background sketch of you and your company, the history of your involvement with the claims and even a signature overleaf. Please allow me to buy a first edition. I’d like to read it sitting in a camp by a fire. Thank you
