One thing that may have slipped through the cracks when talking about buying from Australia and shipping to USA -- the FCC certification process. I don't know the requirements (maybe there is a minimum number of units that 'trigger' the requirement) but AFAIK this hasn'be been done for the QED. There might even be duty that's supposed to be paid. Who gets in trouble (if anyone) if such a purchase gets noticed? Eliphino... It's probably insignificant enough to be under the radar right now.
There is something that they would do for USA buyers but I don't remember what that was.

That gets you in the game, but servicing becomes an issue.
Depends on what type of service if it's just an upgrade I would wait for the summer months then send it back that really should be a big deal, but yea with the pandemic that changes the game some.

The QED would be fun to try, not sure I need one (Simon might disagree 😀) having both the 7000 and 2300 would the QED brung anything to the plate?
I can't answer that. I was looking into them because Minelab wants $2100 to replace the circuit board in my 5000. I can get a 7000 for about $5500 with warranty so I am weighing my options.

We need better access to the QED
All you need to do is contact one of the dealers in Australia. You probably don't need coils or a shaft so you could ask him to just ship the control box.

What’s the benefit of a Hodan?
They were very well made. What part of the state are you in? I am looking for some gear if that lady is in the Tucson area she could make some money from me.

One of the many things that are stuck in my head from my basic training days is to always look back after so many steps because the view going back is always different. Congrats on the gold.

No I won't be going on Aussie Gold Hunters ! We enjoy our own company, and peace and quiet, too much to be ruining it with a circus, I mean film crew !
Well said. Congrats on your retirement and the gold. I think the gold is just a bonus the true gold is enjoying time with family and friends.

So that's all it takes? HAHA. I'll have to keep this in mind if I ever get up that way. Nice gold I love that chevron type gold.

Old claims in the Sierras 1,2 and hot.
OK. Never been but the southern AZ claims are still producing nice gold if you know where to go.

More left in Rye Patch than those beat up WSPA claims.
Which WSPA Claims are you referring to?

For those who upgraded off Windows 7 on their old computer to Windows 10, do yourselves a favour and take your computer in to get your old clunker hard drive replaced with a SSD (Solid State Drive), you won't know yourself when you get it back, the speed difference will surprise you.
Yep and or just buy or build a new one.

I know one thing. The upgrades sure don't like Widows 7 with IE 11. I have been viewing the forum since I joined in Dec. 2013 using IE and windows 7. Now I can't post replies or answer PM's plus everything is way over size. Borrowed a computer to post this. Guess I'll just be a read only here. I'm sticking with IE and win 7 because it is still compatible with all the other forums I visit and its easier for me to navigate back and forth between sites. I know, got to go with progress.
Upgrade to Win 10. You can thank me later.

Congrats on your gold and move.

I'm really sorry that I didn't see this thread when I first joined this forum. I bought my GPZ when they first arrived in the U.S.A. I called the dealer that I had been doing business with for several years and he said yes, he was allotted 10 of them and one was available. We discussed price and I wasn't ready to put out almost $10.000 without making another call. I made that call, but the call went to his answering machine. I waited for nearly 24 hours for a return call. This gave me plenty of time to make mind up to make the purchase. I called my dealer back and confirmed the deal, I asked about the military discount and he said it wasn't available on the GPZ and the advertised price was the best he could do. He preferred a certified check, so I got one and put it in the mail to him with a return receipt. O boy I have the latest and greatest new detector on the way. A couple of days later the second dealer called me back and said he could get me one and offered free shipping and the military discount! I called my ex-dealer back and asked about the military discount, he said he would check into it for me. Well I got my GPZ but never heard back about the discount.
Still not happy about that deal Norm
Choose you dealer carefully. I am 99% sure that I know which dealer screwed you.

Paul look into these. https://www.ravelco.com/aboutus.html A little pricey but a lot cheaper than buying another vehicle.

Sorry about your engine. I guess you figured out what JEEP stands for. Just Empty Each Pocket. I do miss mine sometimes.

Congrats on the ring. Did you have time to look for the stone that popped out of the setting?

Just stick with a pan, you can process a lot material with just a pan if you know what you are doing.
