Well Mother Nature has a way of moving a lot of real estate aka as soil displacement. So you or anyone else can't say that detector X found these that detector B missed unless you ran both detectors at the same time. -

You can use Mylandmatters to see which gov. agency owns the land. Stay off the State Trust land that requires a permit even driving thru it. (off highway). -

It's not necessarily the size of the gold, more so the density of it. For example you could take a 1 inch piece of the slotted end of a hose clamp and test it with your 5000 and one of your VLF's. I'm pretty sure the VLF's will here it deeper than the 5000. Thinking back on this when I saw this tested they were using a 4000 so maybe the 5000 may not hold true. -
