White's is finally getting serious about giving the other guys some decent competition in the low end of the marketplace. I think it is safe to say the Prizm series never had much impact. The new units are running in the classic coin detector frequency range of 7.8 kHz so they have no serious application as nugget detectors but will be of interest for those looking for a good entry level machine. Nice and light at only 3 lbs running off only two AA batteries and a big easy to see screen. And kind of fun that they resurrected the old Treasuremaster name. I am tired of detector names that are either three letters or something that sounds like a jet fighter. Looks like I personally have to wait for White's to do something to really get my attention but at least this is a start perhaps of a new direction for the company. Rumors of a PI/hybrid by year end? I was just wondering ,if it’s something out there that you would or wish White’s had to offer you as their customer ? White’s have a waterproof pinpointer or just a land one . It has a VLF waterproof detector and lots of land detectors. It has one TDI PI detector and it’s a land only. Do you see the same void I see that White’s needs to fill ? I can’t say how receptive people would be to another waterproof PI detector. When I got mine ( say what it is ) land TDI I never dug so deep for a single coin before. I wanted to get nearer to the water but I knew with one wave it would be lost . What do you think if we had a waterproof detector be it VLF or PI that handle vibrate and do away with having to wear waterproof headphones? The vibrating handle has worked for another detector company. If they can make a pointer work that way then why not a detector ? You tell not me but White’s what you would like from them. Chuck

Steve, It is funny you say about a BFO machine late last year I bought an old Whites 5900 Di Pro Plus that had never been used, the owner had bought it and put it in his loft and then bought a waterproof detector so this one got forgotten about, anyways I bought it and I put batteries in it and fired it up and It has brutal power and it has a threshold that is even better than the TDI SL, I tested it and you can ground balance highly magnetic ground and if it still makes the threshold waver slightly you can adjust the Disc and knock it out all together, When it comes to power what modern machines do with a 15" it can exceed them using the standard "old" 950 coil, and it has no problem discing out large Iron, and it has stacked two stage GB control knobs, I since found out that these thing have almost a cult following in the US, I phone Whites in Inverness and they told me it was made in July 1989 John.

Picked up a new White's Treasure Pro for my wife Carla. Very happy with the quality and simplicity of the unit. For 360.00 shipped you can't go wrong, it's light, has auto ground tracking or lock track, backlight display and a 10"DD coil and takes 2 AA batteries . I was playing with it yesterday and it is pretty impressive. Dime at 7" Quarter at 8" not an issue. And no how do I .......this again from Carla! Every ones happy.

Is it ok if I make a new thread about the White's DR-PRO? If not please delete. Figured people might want to discuss this new product from White's Electronics. Will be releasing the announce video at 1pm PST today (just got approval to do so). I'll post a link then for all to see.

White's applied for a trademark called XVENTURE. I don't know just what it's all about. .MD-Hunter had it on their site. Talk was maybe something new in metal detectors from White's for 2016. The odd thing is when I went back to take another look it was gone. ???????? Chuck
