I am still testing the 2 audio themes, Regarding increasing sensitivity in EMI even Normal theme + Rich profile suppress a certain amount of charter hence I can increase 1 sensitivity value sometimes. With enhanced audio its suppress even more, I'm thinking more than 60% of audible chatter gone + Rich audio theme i can increase about 1 or 3 sensitivity value. I also love the Rich audio with 1 region All tones very very much 😁. Its awesome man but need to use headphones. The speaker does not do justice for Rich audio for me. I will be using it in most of my hunt. For now I'm using 2 tones + Simple profile for Normal vs 1 region all tones + Rich profile for Enhanced audio looking fault/weakness in enhanced audio. I hope it just my imaginations that I will lose deep/faint/weak signal when using enhanced audio. With manticore I'm using a lot of the long press noise cancel feature.

Headphones or speaker? for me the speaker on the manticore is not suitable for rich audio profile in normal or in enhanced audio theme. The speaker is clear enough for normal theme with simple/medium profile tho..

I can run mine with the sensitivity of 28-30 with little bit of chatter - huntable for me, regarding the sensitivity I am happy. For now I use/test the manticore on clean/minimal iron ground only to learn what its telling me like a first date so to speak 😄. The setting I use are : Sensitivity: 28-30 recovery speed: 4 Enhanced audio theme with rich profile My concern is the deep faint signal "missing' when using the audio setting above.

Hello there Strick, I guess the 'boosted EMI immunity" works. I know u can only run sensitivity of 20 due to ground conditions. If the ground permits, how high you can run the sensitivity before the EMI occurs back? . Have you played with tonal themes?, especially the Enhanced Audio theme. The manual stated "The Enhanced Audio Theme is similar to Normal, but is optimized for detecting in high EMI scenarios. Weak detections like EMI chatter will remain audible, but will have a modulated audio timbre that will sound more 'thin' or 'tinny' than stronger detections. This has the effect of suppressing EMI chatter, making it easier to listen 'through', to hear non-random signals that consistently repeat with each swing. Larger signals from strong/shallow targets will sound more 'robust' similar to the Normal Audio Theme. This Audio Theme can also allow users to increase Sensitivity (in EMI-limited locations) higher than would be possible using the Normal Audio Theme." Does this works to increase a bit more sensitivity?. I'm trying to figure out on how to maximize the sensitivity, if the ground conditions at my area permit me to do that but that's another variable to figure out on site. Thank you in advance.

Hello there, I'm still researching on mandymoore and I stumble upon a few video that the manicure tester mentioned about -99 to 0 for ferrous target ID (if I'm not mistaken). My question is what I can expect or how can I utilize from this -99 to 0 range data when detecting on the field. I'm sorry if this question has been answered before, I cant find it. \ yeah, the top ferrous region is FE and the bottom region is F2 like on the equinox. I'm wondering does any aftermarket bone conduction earphone can be use with manticore wirelessly. I cant take risk using the full cup headphone because of environmental awareness since at my detecting site people has encounter wild animal like python, cobra, crocodile and wildhog etc

Wow Nox 800 is high end machine? all this time I thought the nox is mid level machine. That put some things into perspective. I will hold of to buy another detector for now. I guess I need to think like IF I buy a another high end detector I'm paying for the features like 2D screen or XY screen, detail customise tones control. vibrating handle 🙄 etc. If its come with extra (even few millimeters ) detection/ good target ID at depth, its a pleasant bonus. Another side of my brain said "just buy the goddam detector. Enjoy life while I can. Lets vs the ground and nature together"'. Thank you again for all the response, information's and experienced.

Thank you to Mr Elnino77 for the questions, video and information's that made me think. For now my conclusion are even the high end machines fighting/squeezing for the last detections depth. Maybe some machines have an advantage of few centimeter's more (or millimeters for that matter) of detection depth or maybe some machines can get just a few millimeters more of accurate target ID at maximum target ID detection depth from other machines and I willing to pay hundreds or thousand of dollars for that centimeters. What is wrong with me....

I think manticore will fit my hunting needs/conditions from what i research, I mean the manicure give the sensitivity up to 35 and if its follow the same equinox sensitivity, seldom I used max sensitivity of 25 due to EMI and ground falsing. Hopefully the boosted EMI thingy works. Anyway I'll wait for hands on usage by detectorist when it come out. In meantime I'll hunt with my trusty buddy Mr Noxy. Thank you for the feedback. Thank you for the response. For me when I jumped to the equinox 800 4 years ago it helped me a lot on the site that I detect mostly in oil palm plantations which is mineralized dependent on day/tides (the site is near river close to the ocean as I noticed I lose depth when high tides). I love the nox so much so I bought all the minelab coil and I'm happy with all the purchase except the 15' coil though due to the fact that I cant increase sensitivity because its introduce more EMI so its the more or less like 11' coil . I only get the coverage advantage over the 11' coil. There was some scenario which I wondered if the high end detector help the signal clarity or even gives more depth on dig or not to dig signal. For example : a) by using equinox Field 1 (11' coil) sensitivity of 21-23/recovery speed of 5 on this hunt. Got a faint repeatable signal that doesn't register on ID that made me stop and investigate. After a few slow sweep I got negative ID on the nox. b) Increased the sensitivity to 25 and lower the reactivity to 3 ( I usually do not use the recovery speed below 5 because for me the tones is like dragging? and its hard to decipher with that kind of dragging). With this setting i get jumpy ID bouncing around 18 to 30. c) below is the picture of the hole i dug and the item I found in the hole Picture 1: I hope this picture can give the perception of depth. The soil is wet clay, when in dry climate the clay is hard like a stone brick. Picture 2: 280 years old coin Here come the Deus 2 and Motleycorew. I've done some research regarding Dues 2 online since I cant test it physically in my country. There's practically no one in my country that I know of using the XP product. If lets say, I decide to buy the XP deus 2, there will be no support whatsoever from XP that close to me. For minelab product, there is no problem with support. For now my eyes is on XP Deus 2, because it abilty to choose much more single frequencies compare to minelab with the hope of the Deus 2 single frequency mode is similar with Deus 1 (as i read and watch video on deus 1) performance and tonal wise. For mild ground with dense iron I will be using the single frequency mode on deus 2. At least that is my thinking for now until the manticore been tested and review on this forum. Hello there, long time forum observer here and thank you to Mr Hershback for this great website. I'm wondering if detectorist really need to have maybe a small advantage in performance and features on high end detector vs the mid range detectors? or even maybe some of the beginner detectors. As in my conclusion by observing information's from this forum (since i didn't have the resources to test out by myself) there are very small difference in performance between the legend, equinox and deus 2. I guess what I'm asking is where/in which scenario the high end detector shines from all other detector to justify the price. Thank you for reading and sorry for my bad English. Hello Chuck, thank you for the response. After doing some basic troubleshooting, found out that the problem occur due to water leaking into the control box from yesterday waterfall hunt, I think. I always checked the connectors before going into the water. Here is my dilemma since my awesome MX sports still under warranty; I'm on a 4 days road trip for relic hunt with secondary objectives going for freshwater hunt and have cost us around USD 200 on expenses and 9 hours away from hometown. Today is just a second day. We can't go back now, its not fair to my friends and we don't have spare metal detector too. I don't want to cancel the trip due to my faulty metal detector since we have planned this trip a long time ago. And what would I do without my beloved MX sport for another 2 days ?. Long story short, I decided to open up the control box to dry up the circuit board and the display panel and hoping it will work (BTW I'm doing these because I'm familiar with electronics board, microelectronics). As you can see there are vapor inside the display Water droplet inside the control box I won't upload the control circuitry since its was the intellectual property of Whites and its wet. Still don't know where the water coming from but its works for now.

hello fellow detectorist out there, Hi from a land far far away, my maxy have problem which when i turn it off , i cant turn it back on. The only way to get it to turn on is to pull out the battery altogether. Even when its on, it will turn off randomly. The way its shut down is like something pressed the on/off button ( what im trying to say is its turn off randomly with beeps like proper shutdown. Sorry cant describe it properly since english is not native. ) I have already done the factory reset and change new batteries, but the problem are still there. Is there any way i can rectify this problem on my own, if possible. Sending back to Whites will cost me money ( which i can add a little bit more money and buy new coil ?) and time. Thank you for your time and suggestion. Below is the findings for an hour of detecting before the problem arise ??

Hello there, After few months of heavy used at waterfall, beach and dirt, I'm happy that the MX sport didn't have crack, leakage issue . I'm still learning the language of the MX sports.. Still didn't understand about the threshold, what it use for, what does it tell me when the hum disappear in a brief of time especially at high mineralized ground like beach. And I still not confident using the relic mode, too much information its giving out for me . Thank you very much. HH

Hello Shelton, I got my Maxy last week. Still testing everything out. I tried to simulate your problems, got few buttons but none of them double layer, i will try everything double layer from now. So far Maxy performs well, no tones/seperation issue, no pinpoint problem, no crack but then again I just got mine. Hope you can find the solutions for the bug u have now. HH

At first its was 50-50 decision on to buy or not to buy the MX sports until chuck was satisfied with his MX Sport performance. Hi there, new member here , First off all, English is not my 1st language, learnt it through online gaming and professor google translator. OK I'm from Malaysia and I would like to buy the MX sports. After doing some research, its seems that the detector has some problem that need to be rectify via sending back to factory. This will be a problem for me if I needed to send the detector back to US, money and time wise. I read from various, sites and forum that some of the detectors are going great but some or not due to the software and crack issues. In other word, Is there any guarantee that I will get the latest version of the detector if I buy now or should I wait? Hope forumers understand on what I'm talking about. I try to explain more as best as I could if needed. Thank you in advance. HH to all
